Knock-knock-knock!!
The door of her bedroom was knocked hard. She soon heard her mom's yelling.
"Raina! Are you alright?! Quickly open the door!! Mom is worried!!"
"Mom?" Raina opened the door in doubt.
In the next second, she was scared seeing her mom was bleeding in her head. The blood was flowing down to her chin.
With a pale face, her mom showed a relief expression, "It's good you're alright."
Looking at her, Raina was confused but anxious at the same time. As she was about to ask her to go to the hospital, a scream sounded outside her house.
"Ahh! Jadrian! What are you doing! Are you killing him?!"
Both she and her mom hastily ran outside. As soon as she walked to the street, surrounded by people was two men in the middle.
One was laying down with a pool of blood, while the other was staring down at the man on the ground with a bloodied brick on his hand.
Such a horrifying scene, Raina cried out, "Brother!!"
The man holding the ghostly brick turned around with a cold face, yet after seeing her, his cold face melted bitterly.
She heard him say softly, "... It's good that he doesn't even touch a single hair of you--"
"Gasp!!"
On the bed, Raina opened her eyes abruptly and sat up straight. Cold sweats appeared on her back and her forehead, her face was blank but her eyes filled with fear.
With trembling hands, she covered her face to calm both her emotions and her messy breathing. She silently shed tears for a moment before stopping and lying on the bed again.
It had been a long time since she was awakened by this dream. It might be because she kept on remembering her brother yesterday. Or maybe because she was missing him? But that's too absurd...
After her mind became empty, she got up and hurriedly prepared herself to go to school.
She went out of her room and found a sticky note on her door.
[Mom going to clean the restaurant. Eat breakfast and don't forget the boxes for Grandpa Budi and Ben boy!]
She took off the note, put it on the cabinet next to her, and went to bathe.
Grandpa Budi was the old security, while Brother Ben was the young one. Both of them had helped them very much after they face the incident, especially Brother Ben.
He was the best friend of her brother. They were both graduated from sports university, but were unfortunate, unlike others who had more connections. In the end, the two unemployed bachelors chose to be a vlogger instead.
However, the plan was ruined after Jadrian went into prison leaving Brother Ben alone not knowing what to do. Soon after, he learned that she was being bullied in school and decided to be a security guard in the school, the closest place he could reach her.
At first, he was only planning to be the security guard and quit the job after her school life became stable. Who knows that he fell in love with his job instead, saying that scaring the bear boys in the school was pretty fun. The payment was also good. So he decided to stay.
As for Grandpa Budi, he was the one who once fixed her bike after being messed up by the students and let her park her bike safely in the security post before Brother Ben come.
Feeling neat and tidy, Raina went to the kitchen to eat breakfast before walking toward the door with her backpack and a plastic bag as usual.
Recalling the messy dream previously made her heart thumped again. Even she knew that nothing happened on the street in front of her house right now, she still felt a little fear.
Gathering some courage, she opened the rapidly and firmly shifted her gazes toward the street... No, the street was covered by a guy leaning against the fence of her house.
Although she felt ease in her heart, she couldn't help but called him in doubt, "... Haydar?"
The guy turned around and smiled at her, "Hey, Devil Girl. I'm your guardian, so I'll always protect you."
Raina: "…" Can't I have back my peaceful morning?
At the security post, Ben was sweeping the floor since today the old man seems late. While sweeping the floor outside, he heard the familiar bike sound. However, when he looked up, he saw a very-very weird combination, different from the previous picture.
This time, Raina wasn't alone. With a bad face, Raina got off the bike without caring about the person behind her at all.
"Eh!" Haydar hurriedly jumped out of the bike and held it with his hand so the bike won't fall, though his arms were a bit painful.
Ben looked carefully at the guy with bandages on both of his arms and surprisingly found that he was the new student from yesterday. Was he beaten after chasing after Raina yesterday? But he remembered that Jadrian wasn't out of the prison yet. So who beat him? There should be no way that the gentle Aunt Wiyata did that, right??
Raina said to Ben while glaring at the bear boy, "Brother! Let this person park the bike inside!"
Haydar sighed with a bit of indulgent, "Sigh… Look at me--"
"You, who need to look at me! You're making me sweat so much early in the morning!" Raina said while folding her arms, sending a dagger stare at him, before saying to Ben again, "Brother, I'll go first! Say hi to gramps for me, and the food on the basket bike like usual."
As soon as she said it, she directly left the security post leaving Haydar felt helpless at her temper, then turned his eyes toward Ben who had been dumbfounded by them.
He still didn't forget how this guy rubbed Raina's head and even scared him by saying Jadrian wanted to beat him, but he still waved his hand to him, "… Hello?? Where should I park her bike?"
Ben shifted his gaze to the guy in front of him filled with a bit of admiration. How long since Raina been angry like that? It seems pretty long, even after being bullied a few times, she never got angry anymore. As if it had become part of her life.
"Go in…" He instructed the new student to parked the bike inside like he always did.
Haydar, after parking, watched him taking out the plastic bag from the basket bike, couldn't help but ask, "She… Does she always do this?"
Checking the plastic bag, Ben confirmed, "You mean sending food for payment parking her bike safely here, then yes. She had been doing this even before I become security here, the old man told me."
After putting the plastic bag on the table, he turned his head and found that the new student had a black face.
Recalling yesterday's scene, it seems like this guy had 'something' for Raina. Although he was a bit reluctant to let this bear boy who looks like a bully near Raina, knowing she was letting this boy join with her on her bike just now and how this boy seems to surrender to her willingly… Well, he reluctantly let him be.
He explained, "This year is a very peaceful year for her, unlike the previous one."
Ben stared at the boy who lowered his head and added, "Jadrian has entrusted her sister to me and I have known her for so long that she's like a sister to me. Please, take care of her when she's in class," he then solemnly warned him, "But if you make her cry even just one time, you'll be death."
While saying that, he squeezed his fists right in front of the boy.
Haydar gulped nervously at the sight of his fists, then glanced at his strong trained body. Although he could fight, facing such a body, he could still be beaten…
He twitched his mouth and agreed to him, "Why should I make her cry…"
Haydar learned that this security guy seems to be the friend of Raina's brother. Knowing that he treated Raina like a sister, he had unwillingly accepted this fact, especially Raina also seems to think of him as a brother. Anyway, it was also thanks to him that Raina could still talk happily.
Remembering Raina, something popped out in his head.
"See.you."
He quickly strode toward the school canteen in silence, leaving Ben speechless at him bidding a stiff farewell...
In the class.
Raina had been feeling weird ever since she entered the class. If usually, they would stare at her with various kinds of gazes, this time, not only they didn't look at her they also treated her as air. Even weirder, her table was actually clean like there weren't any traces from the previous scratches at all…
She observed the whole class then accidentally noticed the trio of colorful girls peeking at them. After meeting her gaze, the three flinched and hurriedly avoided her eyes. She was at lost at their reaction, thinking that they were indeed afraid of her but never this afraid before.
Noticing her confusion, the elegant girl with wavy black hair gathered her courage to talk to her. She glanced at the door confirming that the bully didn't come in yet. As soon as she stood up, she felt the whole class set their sights on her including Raina. Under their gazes, she approached the girl on the back.
The whole class watched this scene couldn't help but admire this girl's courage even after being threatened by the bully yesterday.
Raina saw her tensed face then glanced at her name on her uniform, Sekar Azahra. Like Haydar, this girl was also a transfer student in the previous semester. She remembered that this girl would often have a conflict with the other girls and not many were willing to be her friends. The good thing, as she was a sweet and smart girl, she had many pursuers. Almost every day she saw her being surrounded by guys.
Seeing that this girl was walking to her, was it her turn to had a conflict with her??
Sekar noticed her gaze that was filled with curiosity, couldn't help but fasten her walk. After reaching her, she felt a bit nervous facing the rumored sister of a murderer, but still bend down her body a bit and whispered to her, "… Do you want to know why they're all avoiding you completely?"
Hearing her question, Raina only raised her eyebrows at the girl beside her. Then she heard her whisper the answered with a gossipy tone, "… That because yesterday your boyfriend threatens them not to bother you anymore, or they'll get beaten by him!"
Raina: "???" … Since when did I get a boyfriend?? Why didn't I know about it?!
Noticing her stun, Sekar thought she was surprised at her boyfriend's act so she continued excitedly, "Your boyfriend also slammed the table with a scary face when threatening! Even make those girls with gaudy makeups cry hard…" she then changed the topics, "By the way, doesn't your boyfriend come to school with you? You guys are neighbors, right?"
Listening to her story, she realized that her 'boyfriend', Haydar, had threatened them for her sake. Should she feel glad about it? Raina glanced at her unusual clean tables and rarely felt a weird gaze fall on her…
Well, she would let him join her on her bike until his arms heal…
"He's not my boyfriend. And he should be coming up now--"
As soon as Raina said that, Sekar ran back to her seat like a wind, and acted as if she never talked to her.
Raina was dumbfounded at her acted and raised her book to cover her face that was ugly, struggling to hold back her laughter.
From her story, this girl must be on the spot and was being sprayed together with the other students by Haydar. But this girl was pretty funny, she dared to gossip about Haydar even she was scared the hell out of him.

One day - 06
One day when Haydar was sparring with Jadrian in front of Mrs.Wiyata's restaurant…
Sekar: "Let's bet. Who'll win?"
Raina: "I won't bet on any of them, I'll lose money."
Sekar: "How so?"
Raina: "Wait until they're surrounded by people."
Once the crowds became bigger…
Mrs. Wiyata angrily strode out of her restaurant with a big broom in her hands, swung it at the two guys, and forcefully ended their sparring, saying they were bothering her customers.
Sekar: "… I understand."]
