Chapter 2 - Ch-2 Razrous

Last thing I knew before getting enveloped in a purple haze was a massive set of razor sharp canines and two hollow eye sockets burning. Purple lights whirled around me and I clenched my stomach at the niggling sensation inside. But the discomfort disappeared as soon as the haze vanished.

First thing I observed was a red ball hung up on the sky. A moon soaked in blood is what I would call it. The crimson radiance seeped inside of me. The density of the trees had died down exponentially but that didn't make the atmosphere less malignant.

" Enjoy the ride?" The woman asked with a smile plastered on her face.

" What did you do?"

" Simple sorcery.."

Sorcery? Really?

" If you can transport us-"

" Teleport."

" Yes of course, teleport.....If you can do that then what for did you make us walk in that deadly jungle." I demanded.

" Your soul and mind was too weak then. Teleporation needs one to be steadfast. If not, dark lord knows where you could be thrown." She explained and gestured with her finger to follow her.

Her wet luscious purple hair looks looks intriguing. Is it natural? And those yellow eyes.

" Where are you taking me?" I asked looking around and then.....she halted on her tracks.

She spun around her heels. She was not smiling playfully like I'm used to see her. She seemed to be more serious. More sincere. She parted her lips but closed them again, swallowing the words that was at her tongue tip.

" Did you recall your name?"

" That...." I stole my gaze from her. Admitting it over and over again is....smothering me. Maybe she understood how I felt and decided to say it.

" Lyke."

" Sorry?"

" I give you that name ."

OH. That what she means. Lyke. I...like it. I felt whole again, like a chain fastened around my neck lossened.

" Listen. We are complete strangers. But why do you do so much for me."

My words undertoned half-way

" Lyke, you don't remember your past...who you were before."

" Yes." I weakly nodded.

The early playfulness disappeared from her face, replaced by a regal look. She tried real hard to show seriousness and that worked too well. It had me straight and mindful of her

She opened her arms.

" Then I give you a choice. You have nowhere to return to. I can help you to achieve your destiny. Come with me and join the "Razrous College Of Dark Sorcery", and serve our dark lord."

Achieve my destiny.....my destiny? What did she know of it. She spoke as she was sure of what she should be doing. She found me in the middle of nowhere woods in this heavy downpour. Moreover, she knew where to find me. Was it really happenstance? I held back from frowning.

" OH no!" She exclaimed and I got confused.

" You think it's my fault." She feigned sadness as she said. Shit! I didn't desired hostility now. Though she didn't seem offended.

" No lyke. It's not me. I say in dark lord's name. It's nobody's fault. Dark lord didn't choose you against your will. There must be some reason." She said and I thought she wanted not me to think she is the culprit. Well it can sate me for now.

Now to the other topic....

" Who's this dark lord you've been talking about."

" Be a little more respectable." She coughed. "He's not a human. The dark lord. Whom we worship to. He is everywhere, watching over us dark mages. We dedicate all ourselves to his serving. In return he grants us power beyond our lowly understanding."

" So, is the dark lord some sort of ...God."

" God?"

The aura surrounding her tightened and it didn't show in her face but she was genuinely pissed. I could make it out of her blank face.

" Never say that. Don't lump his presence with those Light lords those people refer to as God." She said in a threatening tone.

A twich of fear ran down me before I nodded.

She closed her eyes and sighed lightly and her eyes were out of rage again.

" Sorry to stratle you. So what you say? See I think it's your best option. You aren't get anywhere spending the time idly. You need power. If you join us, that won't stand a problem. You may even regain your memory back along the way luckily." She persuaded me.

It's true. I will not be getting anywhere spending the time idly. I need power. Lot's of it. If I could posses it by accepting her proposal then why not?

" Just remember this. Your path will be paved on blood and bones. Deceit, peril, pain will be your constant companion. Pain and death. Sweet blood. As dark mages, it's our fate to fight the light mages. To destroy them. To kill them undiscriminately " She said with a sadistic mein.

I understood one thing. By all, it was evident that dark mages were the bad guys and the light mages were the good goons.

A smile stretched on the woman's face.

" By no means the light mages are good guys. Under their mask of peace and serenity, they're rotten from the core. Some more hideous than us."

" Are you reading my mind?" I highly doubted it.

" No. But reading your face is too damn easy." She chuckled.

Well, I don't mind killing.

That thought born inside stated that I wasn't a good guy to begin with. My original place was within the darkness. A pulse originated in my cojones.

I'll pulverize whoever stands in my way.

I don't suppose even if I recall my past, it would be of any significance. If it comes back; all well. But if it doesn't, continuing as Lyke do good. Excitement of an unknown future surged in my blood.

I bent into a fake bow.

" I humbly accept."

" Then as the headmistress of "Razrous College Of Dark Sorcery", I Yulva Theosar accept your admission."

OH! Things were getting interesting now. Good thing I bowed, or I shouldn't have?
