"Ha-ha, I am still far from being notified by the school unlike you my friend, you are an icon" said Perry with a laugh.
"You can also get their notice if you continue in this manner, by the way, why are you late today" asked Abel since it is the first time that Perry has ever been late to school.
"Did you see the news this morning about a lady that was killed?" said Perry.
"I did, what does it have to do with your coming late" asked Abel.
"I happen to live close by, and seeing the store almost destroyed, I decided to take a look only to found her dead" replies Perry.
"then you decide to inform the police" asked Abel.
"Yeah, for the past two years a lot of strange things have been happening in this town. Is either people are missing or someone got killed" reply Perry.
"let's just hope the police will be to capture whoever is responsible for all this" said Abel.
"I doubt that they would with the ways the operate is been carried out. Anyways let hurry up before Mr. Holland begin to lecture" reply Perry before he picks his pace as he hurries to their class.
Taking a seat that has not yet been occupied by others, Abel and Perry continue with their discussion until a tall pale man walks inside the class with a frosty look on his face that sent a chill down their spine and the once noisy classroom became quiet. Not sparing them a glance, the man walk straight to the white book and wrote down some words before facing them once more.
"Also remember to install that name in your heart" he said with the same cold look on his face.
"Mr. McCray" mutter Abel.
"That's right boy and starting from today, I will be taking you history as a substitute until your history teacher is fit to conduct classes" replied the man as he stare at Abel.
"How was he able to hear me from that distance" said Abel in surprise.
"I know right, it should be difficult considering how you kept your voice low" commented Perry as he was also surprised by the new teacher.
"There is something word with this teacher of ours" Abel wrote at the back of his note before passing it to Perry since the teacher could hear him mutter in a low voice.
"what do you mean by that" ask Perry before passing the book back to Abel.
"Just take a look at how pale his face is, don't you think he is sick" replied Abel.
"that's just his look and by the way don't you think he is a little awesome for a teacher" said Perry with a smile on his face.
Abel was just about to reply to Perry when he felt something strike him in the head only for Abel to lift his head and see what it was but that was when he saw Mr. McCray staring at him.
"This is my class young man and not yours so why don't you pay attention since we are about to begin with the history class" said Mr. McCray.
Choosing to ignore Perry as he focuses his attention on the cold teacher. It took them long enough before they were able to round up with class for the day and Abel decided to go home today with Perry while leaving her sister Maria who was busy chatting with her friend since they want to keep their relationship a secret from the school.
"so man what do you think about Mr. McCray teaching" asked Perry with a smile.
"Not too bad and I must say that I kind of enjoy his teachers compare to our previous history teacher" replied Abel.
"I know you will say that" said Perry with a laugh.
"so will your parent be coming home early today" asked Jason.
"nope, they will be arriving in the evening so we have the whole house to ourselves" reply Perry happily as he led the way.
"So we are playing mortal combat this time around" said Abel.
"sure but don't go around crying when you lose to me" replied Perry.
"I'm going to beat you this time around" said Jason.
Meanwhile back in the school, Mr. McCray was busy looking outside the window with an evil grin on his face as he stare at the students walking home.
"This should be the best place for me to get more food without being caught by those damn dogs" he mutter to himself as he continue to watch the students but that's when he heard a voice from behind.
"are you leaving the school premises yet" asked the school janitor.
"Not really, I will be staying for some time" reply Mr. McCray
Janitor decided to take his leave after confirming that he will be staying for a while and he went to do his job.
"Walking under this sun is going to be troublesome so why the hurry when I can wait until it gets dark before heading home and at the same time get some food" said Mr. McCray with a wide smile as two fangs could be seen at the edge of his mouth.
Finally arrive at the street in which Perry was living, Abel was able to see that the store which was shown on the news in the morning was being tapped around which is likely the work of the police and on the floor was a bloodstain.
"how come nobody was able to help her out when she was assaulted" asked Abel.
"Who knows, maybe it all happened quickly before she could have the time to call for help" reply Perry.
"since she was silent before she could call for help, the one responsible for her death has to be an expert" said Abel.
"Yeah yeah, now can we get going before my parents comes back" reply Perry as he grab Abel by the hand and ran towards their apartment.
