Chapter 39 - The Vessel

11:00 PM while they were waiting for the ritual ceremony to begin, an SUV suddenly parked outside with some other cars coming in. and before long, people begin to come out and one thing Abel noticed about them was the animal masks they uses to conceal their identity.

"Seems like they are just arriving" mutter Abel in a low tone as they continue to watch them leaving the cars before going into the building.

Just as they were thinking of moving forward to get a closer look at what they were about to do, another car pulls over and they had to hideaway.

The moment the car pull over, another member came out from the car but unlike the others, this one is dawn in a black gown while wearing a cow mask.

"This should be the leader of the association" Lydia commented.

"Probably" agreed Abel as he locked his gaze on the masked person going into the building.

Just as the person was about to enter the building, he suddenly stop walking like he felt like he's been watched as he begin to observe the place before turning his gaze back at the entrance.

"I must be imagining things" he mutters in a deep voice before going inside.

They might be a distance away from the entrance, but Abel was able to hear what the man said as he let out a sigh.

"That was a close call by the way, even is Mr. McCray and your parents coming anyway" asked Abel

"they should be on their way" reply Lydia.

But unknowing to them, Mr. McCray and the others are already in the area and instead of going in to stop the witches from performing the ritual, he suggested that they wait for them to begin with the process before barging in to distract them and since they are thinking of performing a forbidden spell, there is sure to be a recoil if they were to stop midway while performing the ritual.

"It is almost time before they begin with the ritual" said Mr. Davis while looking at the night sky.

"We should be moving out anytime from now" reply Mr. McCray.

Looking at him as he was not armed with any weapon, Mrs. Davis couldn't help but ask.

"it's been long that we fought together and you still haven't changed your fighting style".

"I'm just accustomed to using my fists for battling" replied Mr. McCray with a chuckle as he clenched his fist together.

"But you know it's not all battle you can win with just your fist" asked Mr. Davis with a chuckle.

"Then I will just make do of what I can find in my surrounding just like old times" replied Mr. McCray.

After waiting for some time they decided to go in but instead of leading the group, Mr. McCray decided to stay behind while leaving the couples to lead the way just in case there was a protective barrier activated by the witches to avoid any disturbance.

And just as he has guessed, there was a barrier set in place which choke a little as they pass through the barrier.

"It looks like the witches really take what they are about to do seriously for them to set up a barrier here even when they know that they won't be found out" said Mr. Davis

"too bad it was not that useful at the end of the day" chuckled Mr. McCray as he pass through the barrier right after it has been broken by the couple.

Walking up to the door, Mr. McCray opened it a little as he take a peeped to see what they are doing only for him to see that they are all standing in a circle, and in the middle of the circle lay a lady who has no clothes on while been blindfolded with her hands tied together to the table she was laying on.

"what are they doing" asked Mr. Davis when seeing him withdrawing his gaze from the door.

"it's just as I thought, they would not be able to reincarnate her, so they have to look for a suitable vessel to draw her soul into" replied Mr. McCray with a frown.

"but it is not going to be an easy task to draw a soul from the land of the dead into the living" said Mrs. Davis who found it hard to believe.

"Believe it or not, they already had the vessel ready now all that is left for them to do is, to begin with the ritual and call on the soul of their master" replied Mr. McCray.

Just as they were discussing, they suddenly felt the ground tremble which signifies that the witches have started with the ritual.

"I think they are making their move now" said Mr. Davis

"then it is time for us to foul their plan" reply Mr. McCray before barging into the building with the couples following from behind.

Hearing the crashing sound from where they were hiding, Abel suddenly stood up as he looked towards the direction where the sound has come from only to see some shadows making their way into the building.

"Can't they just sneak their way into the building with causing such commotion" Abel complained.

"ha-ha, knowing Mr. McCray he wouldn't hesitate to barge inside" commented Lydia with a short laugh.

"aren't they afraid that they would be outnumbered if they were to go in like that" he asked?

"They might have a plan in mind to go with for them to rush in so let's not worry about them and instead think of how we are going to do next" reply Lydia with her face suddenly turning serious.

"There is not much we can think about at a time like this, so I say we rush in through the path that was created by Mr. McCray and your parents" suggested Abel.

"And end up being caught right, not going to happen Abel. Why don't we just go through another entrance" said Lydia?

"Whatever you say ma'am" agreed Abel without bothering to argue with her.
