"Oh, Christ, no! I don't need you to perpetrate anything but deter her from crawling out of Charlie's lodgings during the dusk. I'd stay up with her myself, but I have to work tomorrow. Working as a nurse on only a couple of hours sleep is a dangerous idea."
He nodded and leaned against the help section. "Did I ever confide you I'm proud of you?"
Amazed, a grin crept across her countenance. "I don't infer, but it feels decent to heed it."
"I'll need to get back down here before sunrise. Does your boyfriend know where I doze during the day?"
"I don't speculate."
"Does he know what I am?"
"No. And I'd have no inkling how to tell him…" She shrugged. "Good. Please maintain it that way."
