Shirley closed and bolted her door behind her. The acquaintances had vamoose. Thank goodness. She didn't count on Mike not to tell her dad if he saw some of the black-clad horrible characters she resided with. Then he'd have however another motive to strive to jerk her back home.
Mike came next Charlie to the elevator like a hound. The elevator rumbled with electricity: its own, Mike's, and the jolt that sprinted through Shirley when Charlie grabbed her hand and bussed her knuckles.
When the doors whooshed open, Mike stepped out as if in a fantasy and mumbled, "Whoa!"
"Like it?" Charlie inquired.
"Are you kidding me? This place rocks!"
"Well, move on and look around. I'll be right back."
"Don't touch anything!" Shirley put in.
Mike clenched his hands behind his posterior and roamed across the open space to the hallway. Shirley couldn't wait to get rid of him so she and Charlie could discuss.
