I am thinking that the patrol shift is part of his job so I think that he will come back somewhere around the time after lunch.
While I wait for that time, I will ask mother what we will have for breakfast.
"Mother, what are we eating for breakfast?"
"We will be eating your favorite food."
"Oh, do you mean Kuriata Bread!"
"Yes."
Mmm. I really like Kuriata Bread.
When I tasted it for the first time, it tasted pretty bad because it was hot on my tongue. Even when I drank water, it's heat stays there. After some time, the heat that came with it started to gradually decrease every time I ate it. Now, it has a taste that is similar to milk.

I learned the name of the liquid human mothers create for babies. It is called milk. I think that it is for helping babies grow faster.

Ignoring the weird words in my head, I think of what I could gain by exploring. Well, I can get more familiar with this place. I could also try to find a good place to hide all of the things that could be important like books or something. Maybe, just maybe, I could find clues as to where the ruins are. There is a slim chance for that though.
Anyway, I should ask mother if I can go outside to play.
"Mother."
"Yes?"
"Can I go outside to play?"
"You can. Just make sure you don't go too far away from the village gate. Also, come back before lunch time."
"Ok! Thanks, Mother!"
I run towards the door and go outside.

This place looks very nice.
I haven't been outside since I was born so this is a first for me. Even in my past life, I never saw a place that looks as beautiful as here.

Let's get to the village gate and then we go to the forest to do some meaningful stuff.

I should ask one of the villagers here.
Most preferably, a soldier or a knight because they go out of the village to patrol around the walls.
I wander around the village while looking for a person in armor.
After some time, I see a man in armor walking towards me. I should ask him where the gate is.

The soldier stops moving and turns his head around, looking for the owner of the voice. After a few seconds, he spots me.
"Are you the one who called out to me?"
"Yes."
"Why did you want to talk to me?"
"I wanted to ask where the front gate is."
"Why do you want to know where it is?"
"My mother said that I can go outside to play."
"It is dangerous out there."
Hmm.
Looks like he cares about my safety.
That is not a bad thing, obviously. It is just, I need to get outside to find a secret base.
"Ok. Then, can you accompany me outside until I go back home?"
"Umm. I will ask my superiors first. Stay here."
After saying that, the soldier ran towards what looks to be a building directly connected to the wall.
When he reached it, he went inside and closed the door.
I can't spy on them now.
I look around this place.
Hey, I should try to memorize what this place looks like so that every time I go outside, I know where to find guards to accompany me.

A building that has a lot of adults wearing exploration gear go.

Right when I was thinking that, it looks like the guard is coming back here. He is with 2 other guards.
When they got closer to him, the knights started talking amongst themselves.
"Hey, is this the kid that wanted to go outside?"
"Yes, he is."
"You know, only some people are allowed to go outside. Why do you think this kid wants to?"
Since they were talking about me, I interrupted them.
"I want to go outside because I want to play. My mother told that I can."
"Who is your mother?"
"Her name is..."

I never did ask my mother and father their name, did I?
I'll just answer truthfully.
"I don't know."
"Then, can you tell us your name?"
"My name?"
"Yes."
They are asking my name.
Probably so that they can deduce who my mother is by my last name.
"My name is Alex."
"No. We meant what is your full name."
"My full name is Alexander Noxien Zetranos."
"What!?"
"Zetranos?! You mean, this is the captain's son!?"
I think I just heard something interesting right now.
My father is the captain of the knights in this village?
I guess that makes sense. He did say before that our family was a house of knights.
While I was thinking that, the knights started whispering amongst themselves.
"We should make sure that we protect this kid, right?"
"Of course. He is the captain's son. If anything bad happens to him, the responsibility will be on us."
"But, if we make sure that we protect him properly, won't we get a bonus in our salary?"
"You're right. So, let's protect this kid for the bonus. And for his personal safety as well."
""Yes!""
When they finished whispering, they told me that they were allowed to bring me outside.
When they told me that, they started moving.
I followed them the whole way. Of course, I made sure to remember the path.
After walking with them for 10 minutes, we arrived at the gate.
I looked out at the great beyond.
Wow.
Such an amazing view of the forest.
And the best thing about this is that I will be spending the entire morning there.
I feel so excited.

I am sure that I was much more mature before.
