Chapter 3 - Glimmer of Hope

His soul started to hurt, he started panicking, the pain was so intense, something was biting chunks of his soul bit by bit the darkness pressed on him even more, giving him even more pain, when he looked closer dark tentacles were pressing his body.

The darkness was consuming his soul little by little.

"What's happening? Is this hell? Why?" he cried out in anguish. "I've lived a good life, haven't I? What have I done to deserve this?"

he gave up on the thought, he didn't want to doubt his life, he knew he wasn't bad, something was odd here.

(He sighed)

Doesn't matter anymore I can't do anything now ill just clear my mind and wait.

He tried to resist but the pain was unbearable.

The darkness was biting his soul even more, like the more he ate the more he wanted, the consumption of his soul was speeding up.

He was panicked, but he could only calm down and wait for his impending doom.

It was useless to think about it he couldn't solve it, he didn't even know where he was, what was that mysterious, black mist? he didn't even know how to call it, maybe darkness would work but he wasn't sure because darkness couldn't move what's the logic in that, but the whole entire place wasn't logical so he had his doubts.

The passage of time was strange, he couldn't tell how much time had passed, he only knew he felt old, his bones felt heavy his heart was beating slowly, his heart was close to stopping, He was already at his limits, The pain was about to make him go crazy, he wanted to find a solution but it was in vain, he didn't understand that place so how could he find a solution?

He didn't know how much time passed, the only thing he could do to distract himself from the pain was imagine a better life.

But he started thinking about his best friend what was he thinking now how down would he be..... "but it's better like this I was a nuisance anyway", his thoughts strayed and he started thinking about the girl Annie.

He couldn't even protect her with his useless life.

His thoughts started to be even gloomier.

He started feeling the pain again, it was even worse than before his screams were void of sound, a pressure was felt in his throat every time he screamed the pressure increased.

That was how he would live all his eternity, feeling pain every day, hour, minute, second.

He already accepted his fate only God could save him now.

He didn't know how much time passed but the pain slowly receded and he grasped his ray of hope.

A blinding light appeared, its power was supreme, nothing could stand up to it the darkness pulverized for miles and retreated from the surroundings.

He felt if he moved he would die again the pressure was enormous but also a soothing embrace, a protective feeling like nothing would hurt him again, a warm feeling that comforted him for all the pain he endured, a mother's embrace.

Gods embrace.

So he quietly waited for the verdict of his sentence.

Will he stay here forever or would the goddess embrace him with her kindness?
