SIYA RAINS-
I was so naïve, when he said let's stay in our hotel room, I thought we'd talk and play some games but he didn't have any mercy on me. I couldn't look anyone in the hotel in the eyes when we left because I am pretty sure they heard me scream.
I feel shame fill me as I thought about how many times he took me without any warning. For the first time ever, I wasn't shy or resisting it, because he was officially mine now. Once we came back, Elizabeth had a party to introduce Baby Ethan to everyone in their family.
I was glad to be a part of a little squad of five girls, they are all so sweet and nice. I finally met Danika as well who I had nothing to worry about. We talked for a bit where she continuously complained about her bodyguard Jake who was a very dreamy guy actually. After a point I realized that she might've developed a crush on him. It was really cute.
I never really had any friends in my life except for Rebecca so it was wonderful to be welcomed into a family with open arms. Landon has the greatest family ever. Landon was not around me much, he was with his grandma, he later told me that they were talking about the case and that I don't have to worry about Jimmy anymore.
I was glad that everything was working out well for us. Everyone kept teasing me and Landon but we didn't give in. We maintained the fact that we were just 'friends' but I think it was pretty obvious that we weren't.
I finally met Joseph, I was actually eager to meet the man who landed a woman like Mary and he was a tall, army veteran. I could see where all the brother got their good looks from. He was comparatively very calm and didn't really like interfering in others business. Mary and Joseph had a beautiful relationship. He still looked at her like she was his entire world, and with a little bit of exhaustion maybe. It was hard to keep up with such a dynamic woman I am sure.
As I reached the courtroom, I went up to Landon and pecked him on his lips but he didn't kiss me back. He looked nervous, almost worried. I looked at him with confusion before seeing Analia standing next to Paul. He was holding her arm tight, like she was a child, and she had a blank expression on her face as he spoke to her.
"She is here to support him? Really?" I say almost in a bored tone. I didn't expect anything less from her.
"Siya, she is listed as a witness for some reason." Landon said softly, making my eyes go wide.
I am going to kill Paul. There has to be a line. I felt like crying, and tearing my hair out. I was so done at this point. Why does he need to push me so much? I can't imagine what Landon went through as a child growing up with this monster. I want to just cry and scream in a pillow. My head started to hurt, this was too much for me to digest. He has Analia committing perjury.
I saw Analia head towards the washroom so I followed her, Landon tried to stop me but I shot him a look making him let go of my hand immediately. But he didn't let me go alone, he followed me, he knew I was capable of committing murder at this point.
"Analia, what the hell?" I shouted, my face visibly angry with a vein popping out.
"Oh Siya, now you want to talk?" She asks me as she enters an empty court room, when a lot of people turned around to look at us.
"What the fuck is wrong with you? You literally have no brain cells left? Perjury is a crime and do you really think Paul has any chance of winning this case. I know that you are aware that he is the culprit here. Any person who has been around Paul for a day will know he is not a good person." I tell her as Landon follows me in the room, not far behind.
"He will win this case and then he promised to marry me." She says and I just laugh, I was so done with her lunacy.
"Analia, I'm going to ask you this once in for all, why are you doing this? Is this really worth it?" I ask her in a calm voice.
"Oh of course, you are obviously right like always, you don't need to resort to such things in your life, because it is so perfect. Siya is loved by everyone, look at Siya, she is so independent, sweet and giving. You don't have to try and you just get things, even if you don't want it. Siya is little miss perfect who can do no wrong. Then what, you had everything in your life, good grades, loved by all teachers and dad, a well-paying job and then you land a billionaire. How is life fair? I've had to fight for attention all my life, I worked on my appearance, never ate carbs and I ended up being the spoilt bitch that everyone hates but you are the person treasured by everyone. The worst part is you don't even care, you are so not aware of the attention that you get-"
"I- you-" I had no words, all my life I thought I was jealous of Analia for her looks and poise but I was wrong. Her words stung as that wasn't something that I expected her to think of me. I couldn't think of words to say to her.
"Siya please, I know you never really cared about me, your point was always to prove that you are better than me and I agree, you are." Analia spewed bitterly, as I was about to say something, Landon beat me to it.
"Enough Analia, I have two brothers who are better than me in most of the prospects of life. They grew up together whereas I was stuck growing up with a brother like Paul. They've always been better than me but instead of being jealous and petty, I became their friend and I try to pick up good things from them so that I can be at least be a little like them. You can't blame Siya for all the decisions you've made in your life. You had a choice, you could have asked for help and she would have taken you under her wing without a thought. Trust me when I say that it's never too late, no one can save you if you commit perjury, and everyone will just give up on you. And if you think Siya never cared about you, then you are wrong, she wouldn't be going so crazy and arguing with you even after all the things you have done to her if she didn't care. A person only cries and argues when they care." Landon walks out of the room, giving us some time to talk but I didn't have anything to talk about. I had no clue what to say, I had already lost my sister.
I didn't see a point. Analia looked at me, ready to argue with whatever I had to say but her face was shocked when I just walked out.
As I sat in the courtroom, all the things that were being said were a blur, I couldn't concentrate, my eyes rested on Analia. I can't imagine what dad would say when he finds out his own daughter testified against her sister. It's going to break his heart.
Paul looks over at me and grins making me want to break his face. Creep. He was thoroughly enjoying this. What I would give to watch him rot in a cell.
My attention shifts back to the witness box as Analia enters it, I looked over at Landon who was calm. He knew there was no way she could provide something that would make him lose the case.
"Analia Rains, you are Siya Rains' sister and Paul Scotts' girlfriend. Even Ms. Rains' sister is testifying against her which means she is wrong, Jimmy is definitely lying. Can you tell me the truth about the night Jimmy was apparently beaten up? You confessed that your sister told you the truth in confidence." The lawyer asks haughtily to Analia who shivered in her spot. She looked up at me as we locked eyes. I shook my head lightly before bowing head.
I can't see this.
We can't go back from this, I don't think we can mend our relationship after this.
I felt my eyes fill up with tears as I just wanted to leave the courtroom and not witness this moment. We grew up together, I shared a room with her, yes, we fought a lot but we had some great moments too.
Analia has done a lot of bad things in her life, but lying was not one of them.
"I can tell you the truth, but you are not going to like it. I came here to commit perjury but I can't. Paul said he would marry me if I testify against James but I can't lie in court, also I can't backstab my sister like this." she says as she gasps out her breath, tears streamed down my eyes as I looked at her in shock and she looked at me back. Her hands were shivering on the stand.
Yes, she still can't lie.
"Is this true, Mr. Wyatt? Perjury is a crime and you know it! I could revoke your license." The judge said in an angry tone making the lawyer sweat.
"No sir, it's not, she is lying."
"She is your witness, and now she is lying?" He asked him but before he could answer the judge continued, "As this new information has come to light the court will have another and final session next week, till then perjury charges would be investigated. Do you have anything else to add, Ms. Rains?"
I could see Paul fuming, his teeth were gritted as he stared at Analia. He didn't expect it either. He thought he has Analia at the tip of his fingers because of his money.
Wyatt secretly motions Analia to get out but she doesn't budge, "From what I've heard, James's girlfriend Elisa was also bribed into changing her statement. Paul didn't physically abuse me but he did verbally. He began a relationship with me to get closer to my sister, he got angry at me when Siya out of the blue left for London. He verbally abused me for hours and made me call her to make her come back but it was futile. After which he got scary and I didn't know what to do, whenever I tried to break up, he would buy me nice things and apologize but I can't do this anymore." Analia breathed out, she was having difficulty to breathe as she spoke everything she could think of quickly.
Landon and I were in shock, so were most of the people in the court, nobody expected that. It was pretty obvious that Analia was telling the truth and with Wyatt looking nervous didn't really help their case.
"Thank you Miss. Rains, all your charges, including bribing and verbal assault, would be investigated. It's good that you didn't commit perjury as it is not only punishable by law but also ethically wrong." The judge said as he looked at Wyatt who didn't know what to do as he quickly gathered himself together.
He went from being smug to a fumbling mess.
"Mr. Chambers, would you like to ask Ms. Rains any questions?" The judge asked before adjourning the court. Landon waited for a second before getting up.
"What made you change your mind? I am curious." He asked the question which was running in everyone's mind.
"I couldn't lie about such a gruesome thing where an innocent man's life is at stake." she said quietly before looking over at me for a second, "Also, I some things are more important than money."
Nobody expected a person like Analia to actually have a change of heart. His entire case depended on her.
As the court was adjourned, I stepped out to see Analia standing next to Jimmy and apologizing, who just kept telling her that what matters is she did the right thing at the end of the day. She looked over at me and smiled, her face was still flushed from crying on the stand. I didn't approach her, we didn't talk at the moment.
We had a lot of things to resolve.
She had to apologize for a lot of things. She had to apologize for a lot of things. I knew Analia since she was a little baby, she wouldn't be able to talk to me now, and she knew she has done a lot of things wrong in her life and to me. She was too ashamed to talk to me.
I wasn't going to forgive her so soon and she knew it.
But this was a start.
Landon hugged me from behind and I rested my back of my head on his chest. I felt my heart fill with warmness as I finally felt at peace.
