Chapter 10 - Savior II

Zen looked down and found that there were bandages and gauzes wrapped around his body.

He then began to look around and saw the interior of the room he was in.

Inside the room, there was a fireplace which illuminated the area. There were swords, spears, guns, and other kinds of weapons mounted on the wall.

There were also shelves that contained many books. It looked as if this was a room of a scholar if not for the weapons that were mounted on the wall.

As the fire crackled, he also noticed something above the fireplace.

There was a symbol of fire on the wall above it. Though unlike the symbol of cross that he saw in the giant cathedral, the symbol of fire looked run down.

After a while of checking the room, he finally noticed the figure on the chair.

"Thank you for saving me!"

Zen said gratefully as he nodded at the figure.

Although he was not sure how he ended up in this place, it was not hard to infer that he was saved by the figure he last saw before he lost consciousness.

He looked carefully and under the light of the fireplace which illuminated the figure with an orange hue, Zen finally saw the figure's features.

The figure was a lean man. He had wavy, maroon colored hair which draped over his shoulders. He had a scar around his left eye which looked as if it came from being burnt.

Speaking of his eyes, Zen noticed that the left eye of the man was a shade lighter than his right, his left being closer to an orange hue while his right being the same as his hair.

He wore maroon slacks and what looked like a priest's robe which was styled to look more like a coat. And although he was lean, Zen could see the muscles outlined by his clothes.

'Damn.'

The figure placed down the book in his hand and looked at Zen.

"Are you an otherworlder?"

Zen was flustered by the gaze of the man but still replied clearly, "Yes, I am."

'So otherworlders are what they call players huh…'

"You must have a regeneration type talent, right?"

Zen was surprised.

'Talent? It's just cancer, what talent are you talking about.?'

However, he didn't dare ask this question.

As if taking Zen's silence as confirmation, the man nodded and pondered.

'It looked like this kid's talent is at least Rare– no, maybe even Epic grade…'

The man remembered the scene when he got close to Zen.

He did not know that Zen's arm was inside the monster-looking figure as he came down from the building in a hurry, which caused him to burn Zen's arm alongside the monster.

However, what made him surprised was the fact that when he got close to Zen, his charred arm was already starting to heal by itself.

It cannot be attributed to his weakness as he judged that he was still pretty strong even after being weakened.

The man soon stood up, making Zen surprised. He also saw the coat of the man which was white in color and embroidered with red thread. There was also a symbol of fire in his chest.

The figure was also wearing gloves, making it so that all his body was covered with only his neck and head being visible.

'Well, that looks cool…'

Zen came to his senses when he found that the man was leaving.

"Um sir, wait!"

The man turned around and looked at Zen.

"Yes?"

Zen hurriedly asked a question.

"What's your name sir?"

The man was a little surprised and replied after a while, "Arthur."

"Then sir—"

Before Zen could ask another question, he was interrupted by Arthur.

"Don't rush, although your body is fine with your talent, the same could not be said about your mind."

As if proving what Arthur said, exhaustion swept over Zen's body and he soon fell back asleep.

***

Zen woke up from his sleep a while later.

The rays of the sun shone on his face, making him snap out of his groggy state.

He looked around and found that he was still in the same room.

'It seems like there are clocks in this world too.'

Thought Zen as he discovered that this medieval world isn't so medieval after all.

"Are you awake?"

A calm voice outside the room interrupted his thoughts, he soon calmed himself and answered.

"Yes, sir Arthur."

Clink~

As the sound of the door opening echoed around the room, Arthur entered. In his hand was a tray.

He walked towards the bed where Zen was and placed down the tray beside him.

Zen looked at the tray and was surprised to find that there was food in it, two pieces of bread and a glass of milk.

"Eat up, I'll introduce you to our world after."

Arthur said as he left, leaving the food behind with Zen in the room.

Zen picked up the tray of food and began eating.

'Woah, it tastes good.'

Thought Zen as he began eating more ravenously.

'Hmmmm, I feel more hungry than usual. Is it because of my skill? It must be. After all, I would need energy to use it.'

As he ate, Zen began to ponder about the world he was in.

He concluded that the people that live in this world were aware of everything. Whether it was the system or the players.

Even so, what really caught Zen's attention was the attack the man named Arthur made to kill the monster who almost killed him.

'Fire Sword Art huh…'

Despite the fact that he could revive in this world with the help of the System, he didn't want to suffer the penalty of being unable to play for 3 days.

Thinking about this, Zen also remembered how there wasn't much information about the game.

In fact, there wasn't any information about it at all. The only information they released was about the 99.99% immersion, this world being a fantasy world, and the death penalty of the game.

'Why 3 days though…'

'Maybe they would need to reconstruct the body or something?'

As someone who knew that this game isn't simple, Zen made an educated guess.

Soon enough, Zen found that he finished the food served by Arthur and felt full.

He rested while waiting for Arthur.

'Oh shit, I forgot to open my status panel!'

Zen realized it after a while.
