Chapter 102 - Chapter 101: Horrors of Pan's Butcher (II)

A hazy purple halo appeared behind the ghastly creature as the three boys were deflected, each dealing with the respective brunt of their inflicted impacts. In turn they shrugged it off, Bie the first and Lulac the last. Interestingly, Silkie stayed just where it was, boxing against the five legs of the Twisted Deer as it bounced back and forth on its hinds.

From the sides of its blank face, two blackened fangs emerged and formed a funnel like mouth. Spitting more black particles, the blackened specks surged towards the cracked skull and began to corrode at it. After constantly dealing with the influence of Bie's shattering effect on weapon, it seemed like the properties of breaking down influenced it in turn!

The three boys surrounded the Twisted Deer in a triangle formation as Wanxi, Perdi, and Casmere took the role of diverting the beast tide. Milky white lightning accompanied by singular petals of the canna lily descended on the battlefield, and piercing holes spread on the flesh of the chimeras faster than one could blink. Swipes of a cloud shield smashed into noses, snouts, and the like as the beasts were forced to retract, unable to aid the twisted deer.

And so, the conflict quickly became a rumble if nothing else. Blows pummeled against the flesh and spirit of both sides, as Bie stored away the top of his clothing as it was quickly becoming even worse, and he didn't want to spend much effort fixing it anyway. The Cruel Thesis was influencing him, and he felt a strong sense of indomitability. He felt a bit weaker without the top of his clothing, but in turn, Demon Expedition started to get to work!

The unwavering face made out of golden and white kaleidoscopes appeared in the sky, dispersing a frigid gaze that was aimed mainly at the relaxed demon. Bie emitted intense suctioning force, which in turn made it so the Twisted Deer could not help but be brought towards him. Struggling against it while swinging free legs at Bie, each strike was deftly sidestepped.

Turning completely on his axis with one leg firmly latched onto the terrain, a deft kick smashed the ghostly deer backward as the suction force brought it into a clenched fist. The Cassius Eyes shone as white crosses fell in Bie's irises, Ekulech floating at his side as swift, trenchant blows laced with cruelty quickly raced to take its predecessor's place.

From the flanks of the deer, Lulac utilized the Twisted Mansion's Sting as he pelted the spiritual being. Shadows crawled along its flame as Gyuho firmly clutched the bat in two hands, unleashing a salvo of smashes that would've crushed its ribs if it was still alive.

"How frightening, that gaze. Ooh...it'll be a bit harder to do nothing now." Pan's Butcher felt uneasy under the face of the reticent gaze aimed at him. Picking up his flute and pushing it to the side, his eyes glowed as wisps of mist transformed into hands that snapped along, forming a beat. Fingers grasped the flute as a tendril of lavender mist flowed inside of it, diverting itself through the holes in order to play a violent, high-energy tune!

Pan's Butcher's left pointer finger danced in the air, directing the mist as the music undulated into a real "song." This was the Slaughter Song he had personally created, its name Pan Wale. Animal screams resonated and formed an eerie backdrop, infusing a gruesome melody. The second main instrument could not be deployed yet.

'Not yet, at least. Too many listeners, hm?' Something fizzled within his eyes as Pan's Butcher thought to himself. Snapping along with the auric hands, his head bobbed rhythmically as the music synthesized into a seamless sound.

Bie's eyes remained clear, but three sets of eyes began to dim as a turbid anger clouded them. Casmere was left unaffected, but the three afflicted Guides began to pour out their energy like flowing water. Red petals of the canna lily danced as they began to emit pollen, which mixed with the sky as Wanxi inadvertently casted Ram Storm.

"Building of the Twisted Mansion! Unrestrained Violence!" Lulac combined the feeling of the Violent Stalk with his ultimate skill, the imprint of the contorting mansion appearing beneath him as a lilac aura enveloped him in full. Windows with his sped-up hands appeared, colliding with the beasts it touched but harmlessly glancing off of an invisible shield of mist around the demon Pan's Butcher. The demon smirked, his free hand wagging at the over-enthused Guide in an attempt to goad him even further.

And that it did. The Sad Drink even growled as it withdrew all the Ink he had left. Raising his beam saber with the tip piercing towards the sky, he clutched it in both hands as the mansion condensed, enveloping him in a transparent elegant room. Windows converged around each of his limbs, and he belatedly hummed as his image rapidly flashed and faded.

The swing of his saber showed the afterimage of the room condensing into radiant lilac traces. Drawing a thin line as he swung, Lulac's body crumbled backwards as the mansion's glow battered against the shield, the sounds of metal colliding being emitted.

Pan's Butcher eyes showed a brief interest, and he simply brought more mist towards the shield. But in the briefest moment, that shield was slashed open, the energy behind the attack fully consumed as it away at the demon's energy reserves. The ears of him began to release a green tinted red as it surged towards an open palm, quickly fixing the shield before the stirring face in the sky could do something.

Gyuho took longer, but he was consumed by the madness as well. A pillar of shadow rose up from him as he completely transformed into a humanoid jackal, the bat in his hands smashed into a tree meters away as he pummeled down on every beast around him. His hands left shadows in their wake, the shadows seemingly punching downwards as well, and with a quick spin he would rake at the faces of the encroaching beasts.

Flesh lined his claws, blood danced and spattered against the sleek black bristles. Skulls were smashed into pulp, though each attack was an exchange that left both sides damaged. Gyuho's calm demeanor was replaced with deep, hateful rage, and he rampaged around while smashing anything he could get his hands on.

A powerful fist formed a crater in the deer's spirit body, which was still locked in the feedback loop of constantly being drawn towards the imprint of the smile behind Bie's lower back. The shadows were enough to push it off course, though unfortunately, its form hit against the jackal's eyes and forced it backwards, legs smashing into the face.

Gyuho unwittingly stepped into one of the falling lightning bolts. Unable to see, he stumbled into three of them before giving out due to the enhanced power the Thane Quality provided. It wasn't long before Perdi visibly drooped in the air, falling a couple breaths later as Wanxi fluttered from down from the sky.

Casmere caught her, and Pan's Butcher showed a widening grin that reached his ears.
