Before Haley could give a reply the door flung open and chubby fair woman walked in with anger in her eyes. She is dressed in a black gown that covered most part of her body and traces of tears could still be seen in her eyes. Haley didn't need anyone to tell her that she must be someone important but she was still yet to recognize the face.
She walked with such daring steps towards them that Haley thought for a second she might be at the end of a slap or punch soon from this woman.
"I want to assume you are the detective in charge of my daughter's case" She said staring at her with daggars in her eyes in a bid to intimidate her
It was then it dawned on Haley that she is Mrs Peterson. The wife of the minister. The absence of makeup and the fact she has been crying made it difficult for her to be recognize.
" yes.. Ma " Haley stammared beforr swallowing hard to regain herself. She was not one to be easily intimidated by another person.
"I also hear you have the suspect in custody " she said again rolling her eyes to all of them again.
"we had him ma but he managed to escape some minutes ago we will find him soon he couldn't have gone far" Brain replied her this time as he didn't want Haley to be the one to admit that failure.
" You allowed him escaped? Mrs Peterson asked her eyes burning with anger as she walked up to Brain to hold him by the shirt.
"Madam please we will get him back as soon as possible. You don't have to harass him" Haley spoke up in defense of Brain who just stood there helplessly with his hand hands so everyone could see he didn't lay a hand on her.
The fact she had just lost her duaghter coupled with tha fact that she was the wife if a federal minister were the only compelling forces that held Haley down. If it had been another situation she would have given the woman a piece of her mind.
"The only reason I will leave you for now is because I hear your team is one of the best. I am giving you forty-eight hours to produce that man. I don't care if you get him alive or dead. I just want him" she ordered as she pushed Brain and stormed out of the office banging this door behind her.
Haley have never seen a woman so angry in all her life. The whole scene was fancinating to her as a smile even curved on her face on seeing Mrs Peterson stormed out like that. A source of concern quickly occupied her mind. That fact Pedro was needed dead or alive by both her father and now the wife of the minster means there is a red mark on him and he wasn't safe.
"What do we do ma'am, the pressure is becoming too much" Eric demanded looking really worried
"If we still had that suspect we would have ended this case today " Brain sighed in frustration as he looked into space with everyone thinking of a way out.
" We will need to inspect the scene of the crime ourselves. I don't think we should limit our search to just that person. Have you ever reasoned that we might have the wrong person? Haley asked trying to make them think differently. She didn't know yet if she should trust them with the information she had. With what Klinsmann have done to her she is sure anyone can now switch on her at the slightest opportunity.
" Eric and Brain I want both of you to return tbe scene. Get as my photos of that scene that you can get. Look out for little details that may have been ignored and report back to me as soon possible. I will look into all the incidents that happened in the station here. So many things happened that I am suspicious about "
" yes ma " they chorused as they took their leave immediately.
"Haley sat back to think. There was a little for her to cover with so many things happening at the same time. One silent question on her mind was if there was still any other revenge plan Pedro had in stock for her. But for now she would have to protect an wanted Ex that saved her from a cursed marriage.
She would need to make an urgent call if she wants to keep him and then do the unthinkable. Which is to practically break him out herself from the station. After all everyone thinks he is gone so it should be easy or so she thought.
