Chapter 44 - Braking Hearts (3)

*BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG*

*THUD*

"Hey, how many times have I told you to not treat the merchandise roughly?" said Kyle as he berated Tsukito for slamming the gun down on the table.

"I am sorry... I was just frustrated..." Tsukito genuinely apologized which made Kyle's expression soften.

"Yeah, I get it. I was a teenager once too... love troubles?"

"School actually..."

Tsukito was currently in a gun range. The owner was an American who came to settle in japan due to his marriage. He had said even before marrying his wife, he had always thoughts about visiting japan at least once before dying since he was an anime fan.

They had met last year when Tsukito was searching around for a gun range to frequent. In Japan, there were a lot of strict anti-gun laws, so there was no way that he, a minor, could own one.

That's why he had to find a gun range that would let him borrow a gun... That was also a problem since he was still a minor. But at least borrowing it to strictly use inside the gun range should be easier than trying to buy one right?

Eventually, he had met Kyle. He was also unwilling to let a minor into his range since it was against the law but after a couple of chats, they had gotten close enough for Kyle to overlook that fact. Kyle being American also helped since they are laxer with teenagers handling guns in their culture.

But not everything was smooth sailing for Tsukito. Even though he had his memories as Glen, he could still not reach the same level. Despite the fact that he was currently a budding teenager with a healthy body.

He should have been better than he currently was, at least in theory. That was not the only problem. There was something missing.

He didn't get excited when he held a gun in his hands anymore unlike when he was Glen. That feeling was frustrating. It was almost like someone had ripped one of his arms off and told him that he always had a single arm. He knew that there should have been two but didn't know where the other one was...

He felt frustrated with that.

Even after a whole year, he still couldn't find that feeling. So he had started to hypothesize.

Maybe it had something to do with his talent?

It was a given that Glen was talented with guns, that was his aptitude. But Tsukito didn't have that. Even though he could rely on his memories to get a know-how of shooting, that was all he could do.

Thinking along those lines he had also discovered that Ogden probably had an aptitude for writing. Because that was the only thing that he could remember that made him excited.

So here comes the question; what was Tsukito's aptitude then? It wasn't writing or shooting.

Even though he was smart, it wasn't research or any of the school subjects for that matter.

So what was the thing that made Tsukito's heartbeat?

Also, would he ever get to discover that in his lifetime?

There was a saying that a man talented at pulling carriages would spend his life thinking that he is an idiot in a society with cars.

So what was he supposed to do if he couldn't discover his talent in this lifetime?

Live bleakly?

But he couldn't do that. The feeling he had back then was addicting. Now that he knew he could experience such emotions, he wanted to find it again. He didn't want to live in a bleak world for the rest of his life!

"Really? I thought you were the smart type. What happened? A fight?"

Kyle's comment pulled Tsukito away from his imaginary world.

"*Sigh* I wish it was, otherwise, I wouldn't be so frustrated. Here is what happened..."

So Tsukito started telling his story.

***

Morning - Sakuranbo High school Entrance Ceremony -

As they secretly made their way into the broadcasting room Tsukito couldn't help but ask again.

"Um, are you guys sure we won't get caught?" his voice carried hesitation.

He really didn't want to be here. They could have just stayed at the gym and listened with the rest of the students so why did they have to come all this way.

"Tsukito-kun, I have told you countless times already. Nothing will happen, this place should be empty right. Most importantly, it has the best view to President Fujikawa's speech!"

The one that spoke while fixing his glasses was Inazuma Hideyoshi. He had short black hair and brown eyes. He was a "fan" of Student Council President Fujikawa... basically a simp. That was just a joke of course.

"From here I can take premium pictures of her!"

Inazuma proceeded to take out the phone he bought just for this occasion. It had the best camera available for a cell phone on the market.

"Well, it's going to be exciting, that's for sure"

The thrill-seeker was named Aoyama Torajiro. He had a sharp face, NATURAL blonde hair and piercing on his ears. Natural had to be emphasized. Because of his get-up he had a hard time convincing the school teachers that it was a natural colour. Eventually, he had to bring his foreigner mom to the school to prove his words.

As for his personality... well your run off the mill flashy rich guy?

Ugh, I guess he was not one to talk considering his own get-up was not that different. Messy uniform, leather bracelets, a piercing on his right ear, black hair and his eye bags from lack of sleep. He practically looked like an emo kid right now.

Though that was his own misconception from his previous life. Turns out, his current get-up was for metalheads. He really got into listening to metal in this life recently, maybe it was because of all his teenage angst? Japan underground metal scene really had some gems. Wait that was not the point.

Anyway, the point was, it looked cool and he liked the music... at least for now. So, as long as he kept listening to metal, he would keep dressing up this way.

"Yeah Tsu-nii, it's going to be okay!"

And here comes our star! Ikehara Haruto! Tsukito's twin. When looking at him Tsukito always felt weird. They were literally cut from the same cloth. If you put them side by side no one would be able to tell the difference... if they were wearing the same thing, that is.

Unlike Tsukito's messy get up, Haruto's uniform was without any wrinkles or specks of dust. Tsukito had made sure of that. His hair was parted right and there wasn't a single thing missing on his uniform. Haruto's get-up was basically screaming 'I am a good person!'.

"Fine, if you say so"

Tsukito smiled bitterly and followed the trio into the broadcasting room.

Everything was going fine at first as well. Until...

"If I can get a little closer the picture will be mo-*PUSH*"

"Inazuma? What did button you pus-?"

*Dun* *Dududun* *Dududun* *Dun*

Before Tsukito could even finish his words a piece of familiar music started to blast through the speakers of the gym.

"Dale a tu cuerpo alegría Macarena

Que tu cuerpo es pa' darle alegría y cosa buena

Dale a tu cuerpo alegría, Macarena

Hey Macarena, ay-"

As the song started to play everyone, including the Student Council President, had shut up and started to look towards the speakers. Some brave students had already started to sway their hips

"What are we going to do!?"

Aoyama was pressing the buttons trying to shut the whole thing off but he didn't know how this complicated sound system worked in the first place so he couldn't be of any help.

As Tsukito watched the teachers hastily climb up the stairs to check on the broadcasting room, he knew that it was already too late.

"Everybody, leave NOW!" Tsukito started to push them out of the room.

"But Tsu-nii -"

"Haruto, I swear to god. If you don't leave right now, I will kill you when we go back home so go!"

Haruto bit his lips but Inazuma and Aoyama dragged him away as they ran away for their life.

Tsukito, on the other hand, sighed to himself as he sat on the chair in front of the sound system.

*CRASH*

"WHO DID THIS!?"

As Vice Principal Tanji burst into the room, Tsukito just spun on his chair like a cheeky little kid.

"Tanji-sensei. I was getting bored out of the long speech so I decided to liven things up. How was it? Did you like it?"

"You!"

Vice Principal Tanji rose his hand to hit Tsukito but held himself back. He had to calm himself down. They were way past the age where they would educate the students through physical means. But he wanted to beat the cheeky bugger so much!!! Anyone in his place would want to do that, but VP Tanji showed inhuman control over himself.

"*Sigh* Go to the teacher's lounge. Your homeroom teacher will have a word with you"

Then he proceeded to stop the music, much to the students' disappointment.
