After arriving at home Tsukito found the note left by Haruto on the table, telling him that he was going to be at Yahiro's house today and he didn't need to prepare dinner.
Before any sort of misunderstandings arises, no. The twins were not orphans. The reason the duo were staying alone was that their parents were working overseas.
Their father had an executive position at an overseas sales company and their mother was working as an editor. So she could basically work anywhere that had internet access.
When their father first got the position, they debated about what to do for a long time. In the end, it was decided that mom would leave together with dad since he didn't have the ability to take care of himself.
Also, the twins were already big enough to look after themselves. Especially Tsukito, who showed matureness beyond his age, so they were comfortable letting the duo live on their own and sending them living expenses each month.
Of course, they did not trust them unconditionally either. Their neighbours would come and check from time to time and report their situation to their parents. They didn't think Tsukito would notice but Yahiro was his confidant.
So of course she would inform him when she learnt that her parents were spying on the twins.
Since Tsukito was actually taking care of the house along with Haruto, he was okay with being checked up on occasionally. After all, he didn't have anything to hide.
Well, the only downside would be, they couldn't throw any big parties at home but Japanese high schoolers didn't have a party culture so it wasn't that big of a downside.
***
Tsukito left the house at 7:30 pm.
He was wearing a black shirt with an x-ray hand doing the horns sign along with black trousers. Couple that with his leather bracelets, earring and the chain necklace around his neck. He looked like he was ready to kill someone!
Tsukito really liked his metal look. According to his own opinion, he was looking really cool right now. Like a real bad boy!
Ugh, considering the blood on his hands, he was a real bad boy so did he really need to look the part?
...That's not important! The point is girls like bad boys, okay!? Or at least his experience told him so.
By the way, just for clarification, being a bad boy didn't mean you would have to treat women like sh*t. It meant carrying a dangerous aura.
That aura would give the girl a sense of protection so they would feel at ease around you. It was just basic animal instinct.
If you are in the pack of a dangerous alpha, that would mean others wouldn't mess with you.
It would also mean your offspring would be strong, just like their father!
This was the basic reason why most women were attracted to bad boys.
But, as mentioned before, if you treat them badly they would leave you. After all, they wanted to be protected, not abused!
So, in order to be a real charmer, you have to carry a dangerous air around you and be gentle towards woman.
Of course, having a handsome face helps as well, but that was beside the point.
You might be asking why Tsukito was rambling about this inside his mind. The reason would be because he was nervous.
And I mean really nervous.
Ever since he started on this cycle, he hadn't interacted with the opposite sex before as a... well opposite sex. He only ever treated them as kids he needed to take care of.
But now that they were already in their second year of high school, the girls had already started to mature so he needed to get his game back into top shape.
As Tsukito walked into the usual Konbini he hung around, he saw a familiar face.
It was a familiar face quite literally because he couldn't put a name over it.
It was a girl wearing his school uniform, he thought they were probably classmates?
She had brown hair and almond green eyes, along with her picturesque face most people in his age group would call her a... goddess? The fact that she had big boobs was also a plus. And when he said big boobs Tsukito was talking about D-Class heavy weapons.
However, she was suffering from the resting b*tch face syndrome so there wouldn't be a lot of people that were brave enough to interact with her.
Currently, she was standing in front of the Konbini, just playing on her phone.
It was already nearing 8 pm, so why was she not home yet?
With her face there was a high chance that she would be bothered by the hoodlums, then a main character with a sense of justice would arrive and save her. Along with that, he would gain her affection or at least interest. Then their feelings would develop from there. A very classic storyline.
Too bad for her that Tsukito was not a protagonist... anymore.
He used to be a protagonist when he was living as Glen but Tsukito was not one.
At least, he thought Tsukito was not one. If anything his brother Haruto felt more like a protagonist in this life.
How did he know he was not a protagonist?
Well, first of all, he wasn't obscenely lucky like Glen nor was he as good at shooting. He didn't have a tragic past and he didn't have any grand goals in his life either.
He didn't have any people around him that were secretly OP too. He used to suspect Kyle might be one but he was just your usual gun enthusiast. So he wasn't some retired mercenary or big shot assassin.
Yep, he was as ordinary as they could come in this life.
Ogden was not a protagonist either, so the world didn't revolve around him.
If anything, the odd one out was the life he lead as Glen.
Tsukito was also sure that it wouldn't happen again either. That was just a one-time thing and now that he knew the rules somewhat. He could avoid ever falling into that position!
Anyway, the point was Tsukito just walked past her without saying anything and went inside to buy himself a pack of cigarettes.
(Personal note that as the author of this book I don't condone underage smoking!)
The guy on the counter didn't even question his ID thanks to his aura. He probably thought that Tsukito would beat the crap out of him if he didn't sell him the pack... which to be perfectly honest was something he would actually do.
So hey, props to the guy for having foresight I guess.
"Hey, you!"
As Tsukito lit his cig and inhaled his first sip, a voice called behind him. It was the girl whose name he didn't remember.
"Yeah, I was talking to you. We are classmates right?"
She seemed to be trying to strike up a conversation with Tsukito but why did her words sound so awkward like she was forcing them out.
"Don't know. I don't think we have met before"
There was no way in hell that Tsukito would admit to knowing her while he was out smoking. He was already having enough trouble trying to avoid suspension and he had no intention to give Ms Endo another blackmail material.
Upon hearing his words the girl bit her lower lip. She was hesitating about whether to continue or not.
"Umm, I am a student at Sakuranbo High, Class 2-E. Are you sure that we are not classmates?"
She asked once again with a little desperation in her voice. Tsukito felt like there was something wrong going on here.
"Okay... what do you want?"
"Can you lend me some money?"
The girl look flushed. She looked like she was ashamed that she had to ask for money from someone that could be counted as a stranger but that also proved one thing to him. She was desperately in need of money. I mean no sh*t Sherlock! But that was not what he meant.
If she was someone that was used to borrowing cash she wouldn't look like this. So she must be really in need of some cash.
"*Sigh* How much?"
"Thank y- Wait! You are not even going to ask me why?"
The girl brightened at his response and then suddenly turned suspicious. She was wondering if Tsukito had some impure intentions.
Tsukito flicked the ashes off his cigarette before speaking.
"Do you want me to ask you why?"
"No... I would rather not"
The girl shook her head and Tsukito nodded his head with a slight smile.
"Same deal. I would like you to not ask about why I am here smoking as well. So how much do you need?"
"About 20K yen?"
Tsukito took out his wallet and handed her 20 thousand yen.
"Thank you. I will definitely pay you back tomorrow"
She said as she bowed towards Tsukito but he stopped her. She clenched the money in her hand like she didn't want to lose it.
"I would rather not. If you want to pay me back, just act like you don't know me at school"
"Why?"
She was surprised at his response. 20 thousand yen was not a lot but for students like them it wasn't little either.
"Gut feeling. Something tells me that if I get involved with you anymore than this, it will eventually become a hassle. And I really don't like troublesome things. If it's gonna make you feel any better just think that I bribed you with 20K to stop you from snitching to Ms Endo about my smoking. Anyway, see ya later"
When he was finished with his words Tsukito left before giving her a chance to speak.
