That's when he realized that she was too slow for his close combat attacks. So he had to use magic when he was close enough. He attacked again, swinging his sword in action, she dodged the first swing, but he reversed it and almost cut her head off If it wasn't for her fit body that allowed her to stretch back almost touching the floor. And bouncing back with a kick into his gut.
He fell on his knees, crying from the excruciating pain she had inflicted. And in the process dropped his sword.
"I know, am too slow for you, but don't think it will be that easy."
She kicked him again with so much force. That sent him flying into the wall. Almost shattering his backbone if it wasn't for his nonhuman body. He really wished he had magic right now because this didn't feel like a fair fight to his point of view. He saw her walk towards him as she started to swing her scythe one more time. To him it looked like was starting to catch on fire.
He had to get up and fast before the crazy girl kills him. But his body was rejecting to move. He started to panic and quiver from the fear of him not being able to take care of his sister if he die here .
As he started to panic, he felt a small spark of magical energy that was emitting from whatever was in the giant vault. Was this hope? He felt so weak that he would do anything for a little spark of magic.
He then reached out for it. Which was the worst decision he had ever made. The magic entered his mind and he quickly understood that this was chaos magic. He pressed his hands on his head as the power started to grow within his body, then he screamed in pain as his eyes started to glow the bright red color of Chaos.
The girl stopped once she saw it and took a few steps back, terrified by his demonic look. Quickly, raised her hand and created a force field around him to stop him from moving any further.
But the power he had absorbed was so intense that it exploded from his body and broke out of the force field. The floor started to shake along with the walls, and the girl unleashed a shadowy type of power that started to stop the walls from collapsing. She quickly sealed the entrance so that the red energy couldn't escape, Kyle observed the perfect handwork of sorcery that she was performing. The way she was swinging her hands you could tell that she had had her fair share with such power. She then quickly swung her scythe and pulled the red energy into it.
Then released an uncountable number of chains from the ground that constricted themselves around his body, they were so tight that for sure he felt a rib cage pop open. And he was too weak to try even breaking the chains.
She smiled at his weakness, "how were you able to access such power." she pulled him closer by dragging him on his knees using her telekinetic abilities, "Yet, I had sealed it in the most magical resistant volt here in Hell's Locker."
"Because I am a product of magic itself," he said struggling to free himself from the chains.
"I didn't know that, yet am supposed to know everything about you." she stared directly into his eyes.
"Everything about me? What's that supposed to mean?" he rushed to asked.
"It means what you've heard. Kyle. I know your past, your present, and your future and so for that matter, I should give a choice. You can leave with the book and die not so far from now or stay here with me and become a gatekeeper." Kyle had already frozen from hearing he was going to die.
'You really think am going to die?"
"I don't think darling, I know." she made her scythe disappear along with the chains and freed him. "I was the god fate after all," she said while kneeling down and facing him directly. He could only see the truth in her cold stare. She placed her very white fingers on his face and touched his cheek.
"Stay with me Kyle," she spoke softly like they knew each other. But before he could say his answer he asked, "What happens to my sister if I stay."
She staled for a second.
"She will…live if you ask her to come."
That was enough to convince him that he needed to do this. He pushed the girl away from him then stood up.
"Then give me the spellbook.'' he said. She sighed with pity from those words, " so you've chosen to die for them. How sad. I really thought you were going to stay.' she said, "my name is Cassandra, I am the gatekeeper of hell's locker and the necromancer."
Kyle didn't know why he needed to know this.
"Well, if you really have chosen this path you should know that if your world Eldriym is destroyed along with all magic. Your sister will die because of her connection with magic as a nightmare being and darkness will take over the entire universe. And nothing will be able to stop it." Cassandra was one of the few gods that survived the Oblivion massacre. She was the god of fate and could see multiple futures of whoever person she wanted. she chose to leave the god-life and became a gatekeeper of an alternate dimension called hell's locker where she discovered magic like Necromancy.
"I know how powerful the seven of you are," she said
"The seven of us?"
"Yes. You, Kendall, Jordan, Jack, Alex, Argus, and Scarlet.."she said
Kyle didn't even know Argus but he remembered Scarlet, the girl who couldn't control her powers the night on the rooftop. But why was she mentioning them as a group?
"Here." she snapped her fingers and the entire vault disappeared leaving behind what was inside. A red-covered old book floating in mid-air surrounded by what looked like a force field. Then she levitated right into the palm of her hand. And placed it in his.
"You will die trying to save them, Kyle."
"I know." He grabbed the book and stared at it. Then released his wings. For the first, he felt relieved that they were there. Meaning that Cassandra had lifted whatever was blocking his magic.
He took one look at her. And she smiled at him, "We shall meet again, Kyle. In the meantime, have this…" a sword appeared in his hand and turned into a golden coin with two heads.
"Why do you speak as you know me from somewhere?"
"I know all the seven of you from somewhere. You just have to wait and see." with those words., he was back in the house where he had started from. This time with the book and the golden coin in his hand.
He quickly checked his watch and it was nine o'clock in the evening. He had arrived in the morning meaning he had been here for around ten to twelve hours. But a lot was going on in his mind. Was he really going to die? There had to be a way out of this, change his future perhaps but how? Those were the questions running through his mind.
He stepped out of the house and set off to the sky.
