Chapter 39 - The Creed organization

Leon was in the air, staring at the destruction that Talon had brought about the poor town. He had received the news that flying beasts had broke out of the ground and had terrorized a full town burning it down in the process and killing almost everyone.

He landed on the ground and walked towards the scene. The police, news reporters, and concerned citizens had all rounded up to see what was happening. He scanned the place and the first person he saw was his fellow lord of Order. Jessica is the head of police and world affairs. She had a round face, dull green colored eyes, and very blonde hair. She was dressed in a blue overcoat that stretched up to her heel. for Australia, she seemed a bit overdressed.

"What brings you here Leon Kay. You've come to collect more credit even after being father's favorite?" she said. Leon hated being called their father's favorite because he didn't consider Orcus his father.

"Sadly, no, am here to find out what happened here in detail."

"It's on the WCC news I thought they give out the detailed information," she said giving him a sharp and suspicious look.

"Just tell me what happened. Who do you think did this?" He moved forward staring at the burnt homes and people.

"The survivors described them as dragons." She couldn't even say it out loud.

Leon smiled, "Dragons…you've got to be kidding me. I have been in this world for thousands of years and I haven't seen a dragon yet. That's impossible."

"Of course, it is," Jessica shrugged, "but why would they lie about this? They said the first thing they felt was the ground shaking and a roar from above. After that, it rained fire. You have to admit it strange things have been happening of late so this may be true and on top of that see what we found found." she pulled up a tablet that she handed over to him.

She was showing him images of the destruction from above. It looked like a huge circle of scorched ground surrounding the destruction. Leon had never seen this before but when he focused he remembered the soldiers that had attacked him and August back in London had something similar on their uniforms a snake eating its own tail. He then looked at her with worry on his face.

"What, is it familiar?" She asked.

"Worse... I think we've been invaded."

"Invaded by what?" she moved closer to see whatever he saw, "I am not sure, but we have to warn the others and lord Orcus. I think we are in danger."

He quickly placed the device back in her hands and set off into the air. And into the sky to find where the dragons had popped up from. But he saw nothing the ground was intact and looked like nothing had broken from the ground. He had heard tales of dragons, but never had he ever seen one not even its remains

Suddenly Jessica appeared right beside him, "What is it? Be clear this time."

"Three days back we fought Walker." he began. it was clear this was all news to her because she opened her mouth from shock.

"Walker!...why"

"It's a long and unbelievable story, but I saw him use chaos magic right before my eyes. Its like it wasn't himself."

Jessica stalled for a few seconds trying it imagine it herself "….then why didn't you at least tell father and you telling this to me…"

Leon smirked at her suggestion, " Can you hear yourself? Reporting the president of the united states, a lord of order that he was using chaos magic without evidence is equal to saying nothing at all." he was trying to raise a point that even though they had seen him. Walker had more to support him as long as they didn't have any evidence to go with their saying, Walker had warped reality and had got rid of anything they may have considered as evidence.

"But how is that connected to this?" Jessica asked

"There was an army with him. They all had circle symbols on their uniforms. Circles that resembled that one." they both looked at the crater circle that was around the town ruins.

"Why would they do this?" her voice was softened by sorrow and pity.

"To send us a message…that they are here.." he looked serious and sounded angry. How can you murder a full town just to deliver a message? His best guess was maybe walker who might have done this but using what Dragons? Creatures that are even a myth to him. It was all a mystery to him a mystery he had to solve if he were to continue Argus' vision.

"Leon!"

Jessica called him and he noticed that his phone was ringing. The phone ID was Miranda's. He immediately answered,

"I think we know the book's location, Stuart has spilled after some few adjustments from his comfort zone(she meant they tortured him)…" before he could say that's good news Miranda interrupted him.

"There's more Kendall found something…more like someone," she said over the phone.

"No, don't tell me…I will be right over." he hung up.

"Excuse me." He turned to Jessica. She nodded, then he set off like a speeding bullet. Leaving her still looking at the damage wondering why what Leon had told him felt so unbelievable but wasn't impossible. Her radio sounded and she immediately resumed her work.

He flew to a huge storage house that wasn't so far from the mansion, but alongside the road that led to the Mansion. It was absolutely no man's land a place that was favorable enough for them to carry out their operations off the radar.

He landed down.

TOM'S FARM STORAGE. An old rusty metallic sign was hanging from the roof. He touched the entrance and was warped inside by the spatial magic that was charmed around the door.

Inside the first person he saw was Prof. Stuart on his knees bleeding from his head, his shirt town, panting and sweating like a man who has run thirty one hundred kilometer marathons in one day.

Kyle, a nightmare being was standing facing him and it was clear it was him who was doing the torturing because his hands were covered and dripping with Stuart's blood. Kyle was just a sixteen-year-old nightmare being and was Kendall's brother (at least that is what everyone thought). After the fight with Hayward that happened a few weeks back, Kyle was so ashamed that he had let his sister get controlled just because he had said he doesn't want to involve himself in human conflicts. With all that frustration and regret after learning that his sister had been put in a close to death situation he made up his mind to help Leon and Miranda, he thought that's what she would want him to do. Don't get him wrong, he still doesn't want to involve himself in human conflict. But these two were saving his sister's life. The one person he still cared about in his life.

Miranda walked from the corridor. "Oh, you're already here. Surprising how fast you Lords move across places."

"So is this is him. The man Hayward shared his secrets with."

"Yes. His name is Professor Stuart…the man who knew all of Hayward's plans." she said, "I had sent Kyle to get him, which he did, but there was someone else…"

"An elf that could control fire…."Kyle completed her statement, "I encountered an elf that could control fire."

Leon seemed petrified on hearing just the term elf fly out of Kyle's mouth, " An elf? I guess the dragon story was true after all."

"Wait. What dragon story?" Miranda asked,

"We are going to talk about that later," he quickly retrieved from that topic, "where is the book?"

"It's in Hayward's house in New York, a pocket dimension he calls Hell's locker guarded by necromancy types of spells. I was thinking I could go there, I know some necromancy…." she said.

"I can't let you do that necromancy is some next-level magic, I know you are amazingly talented as a mage. But necromancy and your condition wouldn't work." he objected to her suggestion. Miranda was still suffering from the effects caused by using blood rage beyond the normal time. This affected her magical capabilities, though she remained slightly strong and was able to do a few simple spells she couldn't do attack spells or perform any necromancy of the sort. Necromancy was magic that drawled power from demonic entities and blood, the two things Miranda didn't need at this time.

"I will go." Kyle mentioned, "I can do necromancy and am very good at it."

Both turned to him, apparently, he was listening to their conversation this whole time. "How good?" Leon question.

Kyle smiled, "Good enough to tell you not to underestimate a sixteen-year-old boy."

"You won't even make it to the middle…" suddenly Stuart laughed displaying his bloody teeth looking at Kyle with one good eye the other had turned purple from the continuous beating he had taken from Kyle.

He lifted his palm, "….the creed will avenge us." he muttered. And that's when it happened. When Leon saw what looked like a circle burned on his palm, the symbol from destroyed town.
