Claira held on to Jason, her head was pressed against his chest as he carried her up the stairs to her room. Neither one of them spoke, the silence between them both was calming. Jason opened her bedroom door and left it open since Diego seemed to follow her everywhere. He didn't put her in bed, but instead carried her to the bathroom, he sat at the edge of the tub with her still in his arms as he got the bath started. Claira tried to protest but Jason just held her tighter.
"Please," his voice was horse from cry, his eyes were still red and sullen as he looked at her. "Just a little longer. I almost lost you." He pressed his cheek to the top of her head as he held her closer. Claira just nodded, while he worked on getting the bath ready.
