Chapter 36 - revolt?

*four days later at Bael's castle*

"Liyan why are you walking on your own didn't I ask you to not do that yet" Bael said as he saw her walking into his study room.

"father, please" liyan said being annoyed. even though she got better just after 2 days her father was still worried about her and was not allowing her to walk on her own.

"but..." he wanted to say something but couldn't.

Liyan sat down on the sofa while Bael continued doing some paperwork that he was doing earlier.

" by the way Liyan, even since you've been hurt you've started to keep this guy around almost all the time." Bael said looking at Rahen.

"oh him! he is special, you'll know about him soon. but where is grandpa, didn't you say that he was the one who called us because he had something important to tell" she replied

"I don't know, maybe he found something out" bael

"sorry to keep you waiting" Bael said

"let's hope that he brings in some good news. people are getting tensed due to the current situation" liyan said as she picked up a weird purple colored fruit from the table in front and peeled it, which she gave half to Rahen.

"oh it tastes similar to oranges " Rahen quite liked the fruit

"sorry I'm a bit late" grandpa Kies said as he entered the room.

"hello grandpa, I also just got here so you're not that late" Liyan greeted him with a smile on her face.

"so how are you feeling, any better?" he asked as he sat on the sofa opposite to hers.

"yes I'm much better, in fact I'm almost completely healed." Liyan replied

"that good"

"so grandpa why did you wanted to meet us?" Liyan asked picking up another fruit.

"well, I've investigated the church and according to what I've come to know the situation feels a lot worse than we thought" he said

"what! we were already expecting things to be bad, how much of a problem is it if it's even bigger than that! " Bael explained

"it's much worse than we expected. according to what I've come to know the temple is planning a big revolt across the whole kingdom." Kies replied

"what! how could that be? there have never been any enmities between them and the kingdom. And more than that how can they have enough manpower to go against us" the news was very shocking.

"yes that's what I'm more worried about. if they are trying to go for a revolt then will need a lot of manpower but they are nowhere near the required" worry could clearly be seen on Kies face

"that could only mean 2 things. one is that they have been hiding too much from us all this time or that they suddenly got a big help somehow. and I think that second option is probably the correct one, this new solution driving people mad also point towards that" Liyan voiced her opinion

"I think so too. but what I can't understand is the reason being their actions. There has never been something that could let the temple to turn against us, why the sudden change in their attitude" grandpa Kies could only come up with his worries but none of them had any idea of what the task reason could be.

"so what should we do now?" asked Bael

"for now I'm going to bring this news to his majesty first, I would suggest you to secretly gather up some of your troops in case of an emergency and wait for further instructions from the palace." grandpa Kies said

"I'll do so then" replied Bael

"Liyan you should be more careful since you are injured, they might target you " he added

"do not worry father even though I might not be as strong as before it'll still take them a lot of effort to deal with me. I even have a grudge to settle with them, I'll make them pay for what they've done to me" Liyan days clenching her fist with a lot of anger visible on her face

"but.." Bael wanted to say something but before he could say something Liyan continued

"I know what you want to tell me , I'm not a little girl anymore who doesn't even know her own body. and I'm also not that reckless to put myself in danger for no reason, so don't worry" she asked a little smile to him saying so

"but... " before Bael could say any further he was again interrupted, the time by old man Kies

"Bael just shut up and have some faith in your daughter sometimes, will you?. you know that you can't stop her if she decides on it so why not support her instead" he lashed out at him

"okay, I understand" Bael could only agree

"thanks grandpa" Liyan thanked him happily.

"okay then it's time for me to take my leave for capital take care, you both" grandpa Kies said before getting up to leave

"you too grandpa. I've come to know about a lot of crazy things to tell you about, so return back safely okay" Liyan greeted him goodbye.

"oh! I'll definitely come back soon if that's the case" he said before leaving.

"Liyan even though I've agreed with you, I'm still going to allot a few of my trustworthy men to safeguard you" Bael turned to Liyan and said in a strict voice

"but not in the garden, okay?. the barrier around that was set up by grandpa himself, the won't be any danger while I'm inside." she said

"that much i can agree to" Bael sighed

they continued to discuss for some more time before Liyan finally decided to leave

"do not overwork yourself okay" she said as she left the room.
