"You know that it was an accident. I was protecting myself. I have already apologized to you a thousand times. What did you want to do? I did not have the power to bring her back." Jasper tried to reason with him, but he was not having any of that.
The thought of his beloved and his brother hurt more than anything. Seeing that he was going to die anyway, he took out a stake quickly from his pocket and stabbed his brother in his chest, and watched as his brother became ash
"I guess we both are not going to have her. See you in hell, brother." Jasper said as he watched the ash be blow before going to meet his death.
They walked to the hall, where there was a crowd of vampires waiting to see what would be done to him.
"So you decide to make a fool out of me, Jasper. Your brother is the one who attacked the witch, and you all know that we don't chase our prey to other people's territory. If the prey gets into another territory, you have to let it go. But your brother knew this, but he just decided to go against this. To make matters worse, you united with him and lied to me, saying that you were attacked. And because of that, I am going to do this." Melvyn shot his hand into Jasper's chest, but before he could rip his heart out.
"I am so sorry my brother also tricked me into believing him as his evil plan to revenge his beloved who I killed by mistake, but I have taken care of him." Jasper defended himself, praying that there could be a pang of pity in Melvyn's cold heart.
"How do I tell that you are telling the truth and not another lie like the one you told before?" Melvyn asked him with his hand still in his chest.
"You do not know, but I am praying that you trust me," Jasper continued to plead his lord.
"Is there anyone in this place who can testify what he was saying?" Melvyn asked the crowd.
There was silence, and a little girl came from the crowd and stood in front of the old vampire who looked him straight in the eye.
"I can testify of what he was saying. I was there when his brother told him about how he had planned this as an act of revenge because he had killed his beloved." The little girl defended Jasper.
At this time, Jasper, was wondering what came in the little girl that he had never seen before to defend him from the vampire lord.
Melvyn looked at the girl and then to Myles, who came forward and touched jaspers blood and tasted it.
Then all the memories of Jasper came to his head.
He nodded his head, and Melvyn removed his hand from Jasper's chest and took a handkerchief from his pocket, and wiped off the blood.
Jasper had blood coming from his mouth. He thanked the little girl who just looked at him and went back to the crowd.
Something about the girl reminded him of his brother's beloved, but he could not place a finger on it.
When Melvyn dismissed him, he decided to go and look for the little girl. He went looking into the crowd, and he found her sitting alone on a twig of the tree that was outside of the house though there was no one outside because the vampires hated the light though they had the daylight ring.
He went and sat next to her, and then asked curiously, "Why did you stand up for me back there?"
"My stepdad was a bad bully. He always bullied my brother," The little girl said.
"What do you mean that your stepdad?" he asked while frowning.
"My mother was married to her beloved, who was an elf, but my stepdad killed the elf because he wanted to take her to be his wife." The little girl explained.
He could not believe what the girl was saying. He had always thought that Kelly was rightfully his brother's beloved.
Although he would notice that Kelly's smile did not reach her eyes when they were together, he was not the type to go disturbing people about their love life.
Now that explains a lot. His brother had never mentioned having kids, nor had Kelly because she was forced to take her kids to one of her elf friends to take care of them because vampires would not have kids.
If you wanted a kid, you had to turn a human kid and adopt them as your kids.
