Chapter 42 - Infighting

Having enough of this Myles place his hand on his knees and closed his eyes he concentrated on their mind, and when he was able to control, he changed their emotion from being rage to being calm.

The two stopped fighting, and they went and sat down on their throne.

"That's better now. Will you two discuss your issue with a little bit of civility because you are now starting to behave like some freaking wolves?" Myles said to the two.

Still, Myles could not help but feel displeased at them. Fighting within comrades was never a good thing.

It was freaking annoying and frustrating.

"I can't continue ruling beside you if you have a soft spot for the witches. I just can't. I don't believe in mercy. Mercy is for the weak, and I am not weak." Reece told Melvyn

"So, what is it that you are suggesting?" Melvyn asked him.

"I will go start my own family, and I am going to take all that I have sired in this kingdom," Reece confirmed what Melvyn dreads the most.

He did not want to lose his kingdom he dah not sired a lot of vampires as he tended to be preserved and only did that when saving life like the time he changed Thomas.

A few years ago...

'Melvyn was a night nurse at a hospital during world war I. There, and he would get be able to get enough blood.

That would be a great opportunity for him to learn to control his hunger. Then one evening, a young soldier was brought to the clinic.

That day like usual, there were a lot of war victims coming in, many of them being soldiers, and Thomas was not different from them, but he seemed to catch the eye of the vampire working as a nurse that night.

Since there weren't many doctors to cover all the wounded victims that came in, the nurses were left to attend to the victim on their own.

Melvyn went to the bed that Thomas was placed and looked at him as if he was the most interesting in this world.

"Poor thing, how did you end up in the military at this tender age?" Melvyn wondered loudly. Meanwhile the young him was just writhingly around as he placed his hand on a wound on his left shoulder that was bleeding profusely.

The sweet smell of his blood was what made him snap out of his attraction though he had trained himself not to be distracted by the blood, which was a daily thing for him to see and smell, seeing that he was working at the military clinic.

Melvyn wondered why the blood of this young man was breaking the strong walls he had built around his mind not to be distracted by the scent of blood. This continued to amaze him in many different ways.

He quickly left to get a bandage and a towel and a basin, and some antiseptic so he could treat his wound that was still bleeding. This time he almost used his vampire speed.

Melvyn could not just understand what was wrong with him since this new patient had arrived. He went back to Thomas and found another nurse attending to him.

When he saw the lady nurse as she tore his shirt, he felt jealous. He walked to them and asked the nurse to leave so that he could have the beautiful body all to himself.

He went and continued from where their other nurse had left.

After trying to stop the bleeding for a long time with no success, he knew that Thomas would not get a chance to see another day.

He decided that it was time to take advantage of his nature. Later that night, after most of the nurses had left and the patients were asleep or so much in pain that they could not notice as he sneaked Thomas' unconscious body out of the clinic to his motor car that was parked at the back of the clinic.

After Thomas was securely in his car, he drove off to his apartment that was in the village that was now a big town.

His apartment portrayed how rich he was. He carried Thomas to the guest bedroom.

He looked at him adorably.

"I hope that you will understand why I did this. I do not want to lose you," Melvyn said as he sank his razor-sharp canine into Thomas' neck.

The next day Thomas woke up in a foreign place, and his throat was burning with thirst.

He got up from the bed as he took in the white walls that surrounded him and the beautiful chandelier above him. He discovered that the bed he was laying was black and cream silk linen. He was too engrossed in admiring the beauty of the place that he did not notice the vampire that had come into the room and was looking at him.

When he looked at the door and saw Melvyn standing there with a towel hanging loosely at his waist, he looked away quickly as he covered his eyes with his hands.

Melvyn chuckled at his shy behavior.

"Looks like someone has woken up finally," Melvyn said as he walked into the room.

Thomas seemed to be remembering something, then he removed his shirt and looked where he had been shot only to find that there was not even a scare there.

"For how long have I been asleep?" Thomas asked as he scratched his head confused.

"You have been asleep for twenty-three hours. I know you have a million questions, so I will just go wear some decent clothes before I come back and answer them all." Melvyn replied as he walked out of the room.

Using his vampire speed, he was back in a blink of an eye before Thomas could reach the door to start exploring the house.

Melvyn came in with two blood bags when Thomas saw the blood bags, his eyes turned black with red veins under them, and he found himself reaching for the bags.
