Chapter 3 - Blades with Wolfsbane

"Sir, yes, sir!" Everyone shouted, affirming their cooperation.

After that, the trainees go back to their previous drills and continue with their previous practice. Noel called the trainers aside.

"Make sure that the marksmen have trained with the silver-headed arrows that came in yesterday night. Don't forget to check on the weaponry master if he had ordered enough weapons to practice for the next two months. Make sure that every person has mastered their part well. Remember that everyone depends on you. The archers are to practice in the forest with the horses. We have to add the number of a sniper in our team up to thirty. The other teams from Alaska will be joining us two weeks from now. We must show them that we are the commander's troop. We can't shame ourselves in front of those hooligans," Noel commands the trainers. They were at war, and they must be prepared with everything.

As a hunter, he was well aware of how important it was to make sure that they were always focused and looking forward to the worse.

He then let for the tent where the weapon's master was standing about more killer weaponry. The rent was large enough to hold all the weapons that were being used for practice and spare ones. The tent was well lit in the side of the big generator that was humming silently outside the tent.

The large Caucasian man with long hair that is tied into a ponytail is examining a shiny silver blade through the lights on a high stainless steel table located at one of the corners of the tent. The other weapons were arranged neatly all around the tent, mostly on the marble-tiled floor.

"What have you come up with?" Noel asked the large Caucasian, who was most people call Hugh.

"Sir, according to my research, I have discovered that I can be able to coat the blades with wolfsbane, which is still very lethal to the werewolves. But..." Hugh paused and swallowed nervously.

Noel frowned and demanded, "But what?"

"You see, Sir, we also have discovered that Darrell has a highly skilled witch. The witch is in charge of helping the injured wolf and curing them of wolfsbane. It was the exact one that we use on our weapons. Because of that, the weapons may not be fully efficient. At most, the wolves will only be weak for a few minutes. Ten minutes tops, depending on the wolf's bloodline and strength. For alphas, we can only delay the time for two minutes..." Hugh carefully and truthfully explained.

Noel nodded. It could not be helped as they were caught unprepared by the werewolves. "We use whatever we got—every second count. We are going to strike when they are weak. For now, we will get as many of them using swords. Hugh, if you can, I would like you to make a bomb using wolfsbane that will be a very good weapon. Anyway, what do you have for the vampire except for the wooden stakes before?" He suggested while looking at him with concern.

Hugh's eyes brightened when he heard about the 'bomb.' He had played around with weapons, and one of his favorites was bombs.

However, it catches too much attention, even from civilians who have no idea of the supernatural world. Because of that, the officers did not allow him to use them.

It was only this time that he got a go signal, and Hugh was more than happy to give them a try.

With so much enthusiasm, Hugh replied, "Yes, Sir! I will take care of the bombs! I am also working on how I can make bullets with vervain in them since it is lethal to the vampires," He added hurriedly.

He wanted to try new things in the battle, and Hugh would not like to miss the opportunity when Noel was cooperative.

Noel nodded seriously.

"Please, look at these, sir," Hugh said as he led Noel to another part of the room where some bullets are neatly organized in a glass container on one of the shelves that are along the sides of the tent.

He then slowly and carefully took out the bullets.

Noel closely examined the bullets. He seems to be in deep thought but does not speak any negativity about it. He only gave Hugh a nod, which means he was satisfied with the weapon. Hugh was able to come up with a really dependable weapon.

After that, he turned around and walked to the entrance. He shoved the clothe door out of his way. He heads out of the training camp in a hurry.

It did not take long for Noel to see his motorcycle, which was much similar to Cyrene's. However, he has two red strips on each side.

After riding it, he quickly took it in the direction that Cyrene had headed to an hour ago.
