The manor was huge and all white. There were many glass windows and one huge door. Surrounding the house was a huge unclimbable black gate. To the sides of the house's roof was flat but the middle was a triangular orange roof on which a flag was placed upon. The flag represented the noble house that owned the manor. The flag was dark red and had a lion logo on it. The flag showed the logo of the house of Usamah on it which was the noble household that owned the house. On the floors were stone tiles that were everywhere from the gate to the doors and the color gold was throughout the whole house which depicted how wealthy they were. Alex and Xavier then approached the house. Two guards were walking around the house on patrol since they were from a rich house obviously they would have maids, guards, and so on. Especially after Loy's death and Wayne barely being home due to being a holy knight, who would be there to protect the family now? Alex and Xavier then made their way to the gate.
" How did I not see it!" Alex's eyes were deceiving him.
" Believe it or not I only just noticed it when I pointed at it," Xavier replied.
As they made it to the gates, they looked at the four-story manor in awe. Before Xavier could touch the gates, something stopped him. Someone appeared in front of him before his hands could even reach the gates. They then gripped Xavier's hand.
" Oh, Xavier, is that you?" It was Wayne.
" Wait, how did you..."
Alex then noticed the window open, but it wasn't just a window but the one in the highest story of the house. Which meant that he jumped from there to the gate. He then let go of Xavier's hand.
" Come on, let's go inside," Wayne said.
He then pushed the lock gate open.
" What, how did you do that?" Xavier asked.
" It's a magic gate a merchant sold to my dad a few years back. It isn't something special, it's quite simple actually."
" Are you sure you just don't know the meaning if simple?" Xavier asked.
" I don't know the meaning of plenty of things." He replied.
" Just like you don't know the meaning of actually cause you do use it a lot." Alex cut in.
" Don't push your luck, I'm smarter than you both will ever be."
" Oh, someone confident." Xavier mocked him.
As Wayne walked in, he was stopped by the guards.
" When did you come home, sire?" They bowed down and asked.
" How do they not know you were here all the time?" Alex asked Wayne.
"..."
" Nevermind." Alex sighed.
Out of work, Alex was just another weirdo but at work, he was practically a prodigy at magic and a holy knight. He was even one of the strongest people in the town. The role was second strongest was given to someone else after Loy died but that person wasn't Wayne. He was a noble and it seemed Wayne's goal was to surpass his father, Feran, and that mysterious masked knight who took his father's place.
Wayne then opened the door," Well then, come inside."
As they stepped foot inside, they were left with awe. The floors were made of oak wood and the walls were painted white. And there were fancy columns with lots of decorations such as gold plastic flowers, roses, and so on, and between the columns was a huge glass chandelier which was almost enough to light up the whole room. The chandelier looked like clear diamonds and the glass reflected light to one another, lighting up the room— It was placed above the ceiling which had plenty of patterns and decorations. There were many paintings of their ancestors on the walls, in fact, the whole wall was meant to honor them and by their paintings were their most prized possessions. Wayne's father, Loy had his sword there, it must have been his true treasure; maybe it was a valuable sword. There were white chairs that looked as comfy as snow and a long glass table for a family to eat dinner together. Even though it was a huge house, it looked lonely not having almost anyone to share the house with. The house was even dead quiet, not a sound, it looked boring just being stuck up home with nothing to do. One could see why Wayne was such a boring depressing guy. As they ventured into the house, they bumped into someone. It was Owyne who was dressed in his towel.
" Oh, you're done, training brother?" Wayne said.
" Yeah. Wait! Why are these disgusting commoners here, are they trying to pollute our floors?" Wayne argued," Disgusting! How could you let them in? Mom and dad would be so disappointed if they were here brother. You know you're not the rightful heir already so stop worsening things for me!"
Wayne's face changed after hearing what Owyne had to say about Xavier and Alex," You're the disgusting one, you underestimate and treat someone like they're inferior because they are not of high status, that is not how we, the house of Usamah do things. You're a disgrace of an heir, I now know why father said you aren't ready yet. Are you that willing to destroy mom and dad's reputation out of hatred? Are you that selfish?" While Wayne was arguing he turned to look at Owyne, he watched as tears ran down his face, it had hurt him much." One day you'll understand Owyne, it's completely my fault you ended up like this if only I was a better brother."
Owyne then stormed off while Alex and Xavier pretended the argument hadn't taken place. Wayne then turned back to them," Let' resume, shall we?"
" What does he mean by you not being the rightful heir?" Alex pried.
" You see, I'm just Loy's stepson, I'm not blood-related to him while Owyne is. Even so, Owyne and I are from the same mother, just not father." Wayne said.
" That explains why people acted as if you weren't Loy's son when he died. No one even mentioned you, it was all Owyne." Xavier said.
" What about your mother?" Alex asked.
" Our mother died two years ago from an illness. Loy desperately searched for a cure but he died before he could even get one. I was just fourteen, and Wayne, I don't remember."
" Six, I was six when he died and I'm the same age as Owyne which meant he had to have been six too when Loy died."
" That young huh? And I wasn't even there for him." Wayne said," Sorry for ruining your day with depression, let's continue from where we left off."
" Okay." Both Alex and Xavier said.
