The world was benighted for there was not one bit of sunlight. The moon substituted after the sun took its withdrawal, and received howling praises. After a rather cold and long day, the night was a bit warm which appeared to be quite questionable. Feran was making his way back to Třekov after such a long day of venturing around town to town looking for answers which he still hadn't gotten. Feran took today as a failure, the masked men were too loyal to one another, it was as if they were a wolf pack as they had undying loyalty. Not one of them ratted out anything other than the retired old man but he just told Feran about one of his partners and nothing relating to their plan whatsoever. Feran had decided to try his luck the next day as he couldn't continue and it was already so dark, he could barely see a thing. However, he didn't just leave his family to go around town to town only to find someone he barely knew about other than their name, he picked up some things for the get-go for them on the way. It was mostly food from different cultures and gifts for the family. He would use these things to trick them into thinking he spent his whole day shopping, he didn't tell them where he had gone and the reason for going so he would trick them into thinking it was a surprise to ease their suspicions. As Feran opened the gates which were guarded by the gatekeepers, he was stopped by a knight.
" Sir Feran sir!" He shouted.
" Go ahead, wait, isn't that you Benny?" Feran asked.
" Mmh yes, it's been a while, also the new second strongest holy knight would request a summon from all the strongest of the town's holy knights. He said to check-in at the Mayor's place."
" Oh, the second huh? Haven't seen that guy before, I've only heard about him from rumors. Don't even know his name." Feran said.
" None of us do, the guy's practically a walking mystery. Well then, I'll be off, gotta return to my post." Benny ran off.
" Someone with that much potential doesn't deserve to be an errands boy." Feran watched as he ran off.
Feran then continued his way to town to the tallest building in the whole town which was understandable as it was owned by the Mayor. But why would he or she address a summon at the Mayor's place? Something was a bit off, things didn't add up, if the second was that obsessed off of staying a mystery for seven years, doesn't that mean them seeing him now would reveal his identity? Why would he summon every high-ranked knight and holy knight to meet him now of all times? A mysterious man always has mysterious secrets, it was a well-known saying among almost all men. But what secret could this man have and was he going to reveal all of them now including his identity? These questions lingered in Feran's mind, not knowing someone nearly as strong as you when you're in the same job could prove to be dangerous. Feran had suspected him to be related to all the recent attacks, and when Feran has a gut feeling, he's never wrong.
As Feran was right outside the mansion, he noticed others following as well.
" Yo number one, what do you think, will he reveal his identity once and for all?" A man called out to Feran.
It was number eight, the eight strongest among the ten holy knights, Teru. Teru had a habit of stealing and lying, he would always steal something and blame it on others. Since he had the characteristics of a thief, he dressed and looked like one. He had dirty black holes which were showered in holes, muddy brown leather boots, and wore a dirty long black robe that looked as if it was owned by a homeless person. His dark long curly hair was a mess and his beard was halfway shaved. His nose shape was that of the shape of a lobster and his eyes were quite large like animals. He had thick eyebrows which made him look moody when he was one of the most cheerful persons out there. This man, Teru Lane, looked like a low-life and a homeless person at the same time. The way he dressed, acted and looked confirmed this.
" I dunno, what do you think Odo?" Feran asked the fourth strongest among the holy knights.
" He can't hear or see you." Teru intervened.
" Why?"
" Because he's as deaf and dumb as he's blind. He can't hear, speak, see or understand anything."
" Then why is he the fourth-strongest? Why does he know the way to the mansion" Feran asked as he looked at Odo who was ahead of the group.
"It's because he's strong and can memorize anything the first time. By one attack he could guess all your next attacks. He uses Enhanced Senses magic which allows him to feel the presence of the enemy and where their attack is coming from. He can also see the magical aura around people, that's all he sees though, everything else is black which is why he knows which direction to go because he's following us or rather, our mana source. Kinda expected of a monk of Erith." Teru replied.
" I heard that name somewhere. I know someone who uses that same kind of magic yet can't do almost any of those things," Feran said.
" It's because magic differs in every person. If we were all the same we would be using the same magic which wouldn't be fun, would it?" Teru responded.
Feran then turned to Odo Otto. Odo Otto wore a black hood over his bald head and his eyes remained closed. There was not a trace of any hairs on his face as his skin looked glossy and clean. Through his sleeves, one could see a well-kept toned, and muscular body. He had a perfect nose, perfect eyes, and perfect everything. He was quite handsome even though he was bald. Monks weren't allowed to grow their hair anyway. Feran could tell that what Teru said was all true.
' Sure this guy isn't some kind of high intellect human-shaped beast?' Feran thought.
