SCARLET'S POV
(The next day)
There wasn't much work to do. Madeline had everything under control and I had nothing to do.
"Don't worry. I've attended to all those pending works. Mr Pearce made me work on them earlier. I was glad to do them. Didn't want you stressing yourself after everything you've been through," Madeline had said to me earlier when she came to see me.
"I guess I'll just stay here until I'm needed," I decided. Resting my elbows on the table and my chin on my two hands.
Surely, Alex was gonna call me. But I don't know when. He did say he was going to be busy and would let me know when he's free.
"So much work on the ground. I hope he's able to cope with everything. What I'm I saying? He's Mr Pearce, Mr tough boss knows nonsense. He has everything under control." I smiled thinking about Alex.
Just then, a knock came on my door. "Come in," I requested.
