Chapter 4 - Scent of Trouble

The world around Kim Woo is vast and serene, like an untouched paradise. Soft petals floating in the air carry a gentle breeze that smells so pure and intoxicating. The fragrance is unlike anything Kim Woo-Jin has ever encountered. The scent is a perfect blend of sweetness, warmth, and a subtle floral elegance that dances between masculine and feminine.

He inhales deeply, filling his chest with the comforting aroma.

"What is this smell?" he thought.

Chasing the scent, he began walking through the plain filled with petals. With his every step, the scent grew stronger, more vivid, as though it was calling out to him, guiding him toward its source.

"I've never smelled anything like this…" he whispered.

The breeze carries more of the scent, and Woo-Jin closes his eyes briefly, letting it wash over him. His footsteps quicken as the aroma pulls him forward.

Finally, he reached to see a towering flower bathed in a golden glow, its petals shimmering like silk under the soft sunlight.

He leans in, brushing his nose against the towering flower, and inhales deeply.

"This…" he muttered. "This is perfect."

Suddenly, a soft yet clear voice cut through his dream.

"Are you a dog?"

A sudden jolt pulled Kim Woo from his dream; the warmth of the golden flower was replaced by something soft yet solid. His hands are somehow rested on the desk beside him, stabilizing his position, and his nose is buried in the curve of someone's neck.

And not just anyone's neck.

It's an omega neck.

The same cunning omega who made him a culprit a few minutes ago.

"What…" Woo-Jin stammered. His gaze flickered to Aaron's neck, where his nose had been moments ago, then back to Aaron's serene expression.

"Good morning?" Aaron said with a teasing voice.

Woo-Jin's brain stuttered for a moment.

Morning? What? His mind reeled as the reality of what had just happened hit him like a freight train.

Meanwhile the class is in total chaos.

"What was that?"

"Did Woo-Jin just… sniff him?"

"Is this some kind of alpha thing?!"

Woo-Jin clenches his jaw and bangs his fist on the desk.

Thud.

The sound makes everyone fall silent, and every face quickly turns away from Kim Woo in a moment.

Aaron, seeing Kim Woo burning in anger, a light smirk appears on his lips.

He leans closer to Kim Woo and whispers in a low tone. "You're dreaming about something naughty, aren't you?"

Kim Woo's body jerked upright as if struck by lightning.

"W-What?" he stammers.

Aaron chuckles softly as his lips quirk into a devilish smile.

"Come on, it's written all over your face."

Kim Woo's face turned red before he could open his mouth; Aaron leaned even closer to tease him.

"Don't tell me it was a wet dream?"

Kim Woo nearly choked.

"W-Wet dream?!" His voice cracked again, making his face burn brighter than ever.

Seeing Kim Woo flustered, Aaron chuckled.

"You're too cute when you're flustered."

"Y-You!" Kim Woo sputtered, glaring at Aaron with wide eyes.

Aaron leans back, crossing one leg over the other.

"Look at you, blushing like a schoolgirl. You're so red I'd almost think I kissed you." He paused for a moment, and then he added, "Yet."

Kim Woo's brain short-circuited. He jerked back so hard that his chair creaked, his mouth opening and closing uselessly.

Aaron's smirk deepened as he watched the alpha crumble. "What's the matter, Kim Woo? Can't handle someone talking dirty to you?"

"Why—" Kim Woo's voice cracked again as he struggled to regain his composure. "Why are you sitting here?!"

"Because I want to," Aaron said breezily.

Kim Woo growled as his frustration bubbled over. "Find another seat!"

"Nope," Aaron replied. "If you don't like sitting with me, feel free to leave. But I like it here, and I'm not moving."

Kim Woo's patience snapped. He leaned in close to Aaron and growled in a low voice. "You've got ten seconds to get lost, or I'll make your life a living hell."

Aaron didn't even flinch. Instead, his expression turned even more wicked as he whispered, "Oh, I don't think so. Imagine how your mother would feel if she knew her precious son spent his time bullying an innocent omega like me."

Kim Woo froze. His blood ran cold as Aaron's words hit home. He stared, his mouth slightly open, searching for a response that wouldn't come. "How do you—"

"Oh, I have my ways," Aaron cut in, shrugging nonchalantly. "But don't worry. I won't say a word… as long as you behave."

Kim Woo's jaw clenched, his hands gripping the edge of the table. "You—"

Aaron didn't let him finish. He leaned in again, this time stopping just an inch from Kim Woo's lips.

"Let's be good friends, hmm?" Aaron whispered, his voice dripping with mock sweetness.

Kim Woo bolted upright, jerking his chair back with enough force to scrape the floor. His face was redder than ever, his usual composed aura shattered as he tried to process what had just happened.

Aaron, meanwhile, grinned like the cat who caught the canary. "See? We're already off to a great start."

Aaron finally leaned back, and his eyes flicked toward the board, feigning interest in the professor's droning lecture. As he settled into his seat, he tapped his pen lazily against his notebook, giving Kim Woo no further attention.

But for Kim Woo, the ordeal wasn't over.

His heart was pounding with a rhythm that refused to settle. He sat stiffly in his chair, staring straight ahead, but his mind was anything but calm. Aaron's scent lingered in the air—a faint, tantalizing blend of something sweet yet sharp, like spiced vanilla and citrus, threading itself into Kim Woo's senses.

What the hell is that smell?

It was intoxicating. His throat felt dry, and his palms were clammy against the desk. He clenched his fists, willing himself to focus, but his body refused to obey.

How could someone so infuriating smell so… good?

He dared a glance at Aaron, who was now scribbling something in his notebook with an air of complete indifference. His posture was relaxed, as if the entire encounter hadn't just unraveled Kim Woo's carefully constructed facade.

Why hadn't I shut the omega down, putting him in his place?

Kim Woo's jaw tightened as the questions dwelled in his mind. He was Kim Woo-Jin—the dominant alpha heir of the Kim Tech Group. He wasn't supposed to get flustered by anyone, least of all some cheeky omega who had the audacity to talk dirty to him in public. And yet…

And yet, Aaron's words replayed in his head, over and over.

"Was it a wet dream? Let's be good friends, hmm?"

Kim Woo felt a fresh wave of heat rise to his face. He clenched his teeth, trying to shake off the memory. What was wrong with him? Why did his chest feel tight, like it was hard to breathe?

That smell—damn it, it was distracting. It was drawing him in, making his instincts stir. But this wasn't any ordinary omega scent. It was… different. Subtle but potent, like it was crafted just to mess with him.

Kim Woo shifted in his seat uncomfortably, running a hand through his hair in frustration. He wanted to snap back, to say something sharp that would knock Aaron off. But every time he opened his mouth, the words died in his throat.

Why am I acting like a loser?

He glared at Aaron's back, and his fists clenched under the desk. He is certain of one thing: this omega—Aaron—is going to be a problem.

A big problem.
