A world filled with monsters. Ranking differently depending on their level of danger, from only being able to kill a few people to being able to take down a continent without anyone being able to stop it.
These monsters started out weak, being able to be killed with guns, although with great difficulty. To them being impossible to stop with regular artillery.
Multiple governments joined together and discussed their next moves. And when one country was invaded by a beast with power unheard of before they were considering using nuclear weapons while they evacuated everyone they could.
But it seemed that they wouldn't need to make a decision after all. As a few brave individuals stepped forward and took down the monster.
People praised them as heroes and they stayed humble despite it, only increasing their reputation in the public's eyes.
And then people started 'awakening', giving them mystical powers. And then the number of them increased, from one every month, to hundreds every week. They gained the titles of hunters and were divided into ranks.
The hunters union was formed to control and register these hunters. To make sure their powers weren't used for bad and used to get rid of the monsters. Although some choose to not fight and live normal lives despite being superhuman.
Then when the hunters union couldn't handle every hunter, a solution appeared. Some of the stronger hunters started forming guilds.
And then further confusing everyone about why monsters were appearing, portals started to appear. These portals contained stronger monsters than what would appear in the normal world. But if the monsters weren't killed after a period of time then the portals would open and let the monsters out to cause havoc.
It was unknown why all of this was happening. But one girl would find out why.
A girl with blonde hair looked in front of her as she stood in the middle of a street, with wide and scared eyes as she saw people walking around with bright green strings sticking out of them, going up to the sky to wherever they were connected.
This is my story. The story of Kyla Solomon. And this is the story of how I discovered the truth. And what I did with that knowledge.
