It seemed that because there weren't many people in the dungeon, humans at least, that they weren't making as much noise as they normally would. And because of that, the goblins hadn't noticed them.
Or maybe it was because Adam kept on letting on mana. Kyla wasn't sure if he was doing it on purpose, but even an aura of mana just surrounded him.
Kyla eventually couldn't take it anymore and spoke. "Can you please stop releasing your mana like that? I think it's scaring away the monsters." She said politely, but also with a hint of annoyance.
Adam looked at her shocked as he asked. "You can sense that?" He asked and got an affirmative nod from her. "I guess you're really sensitive to mana then. But don't worry, I'm only rounding up a few in separate spaces so that we can go up in difficulty each time you kill a goblin."
Kyla looked at him shocked as he admitted that.
And Adam was telling the truth. He was spreading his mana out in the dungeon and after filling it with a bit of bloodlust separated the goblins into different areas. One area only had one goblin, one had two, another had three, and so on and so forth, except for the boss room where he decided to leave all the goblins there.
Although Adam wasn't a Mage he was adapte at controlling his mana in and around himself. This was the upper limit of what he could control outside of body far away. In terms of difficulty for him at least.
"So, you know where they are?" Kyla asked, with Adam nodding at her confirming it. Kyla took a breath, walked up to Adam as he watched her in confusion, before she whacked him upside the head with her staff. "Idiot! Tell me where they are then!" She shouted annoyed.
Adam only rubbed his head in annoyance at that. He didn't want to get bossed around right now, but he also didn't want her to get killed from somehow making it to the boss room. And plus right, he had taken her under his wing, so he had responsibility to protect her. That was one of the reasons he did what he did with the goblins.
"Fine, just walk forward and to the left, there'll be a lone goblin that you can fight." Adam told her.
Kyla got over her previous frustration and ran excitedly in that direction.
Adam clicked his tongue as he watched her. "She's like a kid." He mumbled to himself.
They did eventually find the one goblin Adam had talked about. It was only wearing a loincloth, was small and looked like a child, with a big nose and a deformed head, with green skin colour.
Kyla looked at it from behind a wall, leaning over it, with curiosity in her eyes, while Adam just watched. Kyla felt a bit of disgust from looking at it, but she didn't feel scared.
"What should I do?" She asked Adam quietly.
Adam shrugged as he answered. "I don't know, it depends on how you want to do it. You can either try and go for the neck with your daggers, or you can whack it with your staff. Whatever you're comfortable with." He explained to her.
Kyla nodded her head, deciding to go with the staff option as it gave her more space between her and the monster.
Kyla moved out from behind the wall, being quiet as she tried to sneak up behind the goblin. She only got about halfway before she stepped on a rock that rolled away, making noise as it did so. Normally, doing that wouldn't create any sound or noise, but because everything was so quiet already, the noise made by the stone was obvious.
The goblin heard the noise and turned around, making what sounded like a curious noise, but it being distorted from undeveloped vocal cords.
When it saw Kyla, who was frozen still, it let out a noise of excitement as it started to drool. Never having seen a woman before, but its instincts knowing what kyla was.
That was one of the dangers of goblin dungeons for women. Not being killed after getting beat by a goblin… that was the worst fate a woman could have in this type of dungeon, as if they didn't die straight away, they would suffer a fate worse than death.
Of course, Kyla didn't know this. And she wasn't froze still in fear. But in childish disappointment in herself that she was spotted so soon. She was sure she could have gotten closer if it wasnt for that stupid rock.
The goblin got ready to subdue its first 'meal' of its life, as it got ready to use its hands like claws.
Kyla on the other hand stood up at full height. Moving her staff from her side, to infront of her ready to strike at him.
The goblin let out a cheer as it charged, its mouth salivating so much that it was like a pool overflowing with how much was coming out of its mouth and how much was in it.
When it was close enough it jumped, putting its hands up towards kyla's face ready to claw at her with its long nails.
Kyla on the other hand, showed no fear nor did she feel any. If anything… she felt excitement, like her soul knew she was going to win, and the outcome would be glorious.
It didn't reach her, as she wacked it with her staff. It rolled a few metres on the ground away from kyla, not dead but not uninjured.
Its vision now blurred with blood pouring from its head. It touched its head in shock and let out a distorted hiss of pain. Pain? What was the pain? It didn't know, but it knew it didnt like it. It didn't even know the word for what it was feeling, but it knew this feeling would be subdued if it got rid of that woman.
It let out a roar and charged once again.
Kyla did not attack him when he was down, she didn't know why. Perhaps because she wanted to see what it would do with that chance. Flee? Or get up and fight again? She now had her answer, and she wouldn't give it a chance to flee after this.
The goblin tried to scratch her with its long nails, but Kyla blocked it with her wooden staff, before kicking the goblin in the head.
It fell to the ground, and although Kyla said she wouldn't, she waited to see if it would get up again. It didn't. She let out a sigh at that, disappointed that everything was over so soon.
The goblin layed on the ground, only being able to make distorted sounds of pain and discomfort as it layed there, not being able to form a coherent thought, although it never could.
She then grabbed the staff with both hands, lifting it up. Before she stabbed the pointed bit into the head of the goblin, killing it instantly.

Kyla looked at the screens, trying to keep up with the speed of the notifications. The green screens kept popping up one after another. She eventually just read one at a time to learn what was going on.
She did eventually, and after reading them she noticed something or realised something, she didn't know the proper term for it. Her body felt stronger, and she felt her mana pool grow bigger, making her feel warm inside.
When she thought of these things, the green screen appeared in front of her.

Kyla looked at the status screen in a bit of shock. She had 'levelled up' as the system has put it, and had… gotten stronger. But that shouldn't be possible, Adam had said so and he seemed trustworthy and didn't seem to be lying, and what would he get out of lying?
She knew the system had said, "To help you as a Hunter, to get stronger". She didn't think it meant like that. Well, she didn't know what it meant, she wasn't paying attention to that. But if she was, she would have thought it meant… like skills or something. Not actually making her stronger!
Although… Maybe she wasn't the only one who had the ability to get stronger like this. Obviously not with a system, the system had said it was the only one of itself.
"You done staring into space?" Adam asked as he suddenly appeared next to her. Kyla jumped a little in fright at that, but calmed down quickly realising it was Adam.
"Mhm." Kyla hummed.
Just as both were about to walk away from the corpse, another green screen appeared in front of Kyla.
She let out a grunt of frustration as she quickly skimmed over it, but stopped once she did.
Adam noticed she stopped, and turned around to see what was happening ieht her. When he turned around he saw her staring at the corpse of the dead goblin. "You can leave it, we'll collect the corpses later. No point in wasting time collecting a mana crystal… unless you want to learn now? I mean, it's a pretty weird time and place to learn, but hey, i'm not judging." Adam said jokingly.
But it seemed that Kyla didn't hear him, ignoring him before moving to the corpse. She kneeled down, put a hand on its chest, and said something under her breath that Adam couldn't hear no matter how much he strained his hearing.
Then in something that shocked him, the monster's corpse disappeared. The only proof it was there was the Mana Crystal and things of the goblins corpse that could be used for something else left behind.
Adam looked at Kyla in a bit of shock, did she have a dismantling skill? It wasn't the first time he heard about that type of skill, but for it to be so perfect at what Kyla did, and the fact that he knew it would take more effort then, especially someone of Kyla's rank, it didn't make much sense.
A few seconds ago, with Kyla, before the corpse disappeared, this is what appeared in front of her.
[Notice:
Monster 'goblin' is available to be used on the skill 'Army of 81.73.82.81.42.'.
Does the user wish to use the skill?]
Yes, is what Kyla immediately thought. She would get to use her skill for the first time. And it felt like she needed to do this.
She then got instructions in her mind on how to do it, for now at least.
She walked over to the corpse, all the sound around her wasn't reaching her ears.
She knelt down, and put a hand on the corpse of the goblin.
"Come forth." When she said that, she could feel some mana leaving her, it being used for the skill.
The corpse disappeared, only leaving a few bits of it behind along with the Mana Crystal.
Then, like a mirror breaking in front of her, a part of the world seemed to shatter. And out from behind that shattered glass walked out something.
Kyla had a bright smile seeing it, while Adam on the other hand could only just watch in shock, as he began to get a grasp of what could possibly be Kyla's skill.
