Kyla and Adam headed further into what Kyla learned was the armoury. Of course, that information was supplied to her by the green screen which it called itself a 'System' or something like that.
They eventually ended up surrounded by armour instead of weapons. Each piece of armour was different somehow. Some were not as bulky as others or were made out of different materials. Some pieces there were even just pieces of jewellery.
Adam once again started picking out the basics for her, which she assumed he was going to let her choose which one she wanted.
"Your armour is only here for extra protection. It won't stop attacks completely or stop monsters from trying, but it will negate some of the damage." Adam said, informing Kyla of that because he didn't want her thinking she was invincible because of the armour she had. "Also, always wear armour, no matter how basic it is. Only idiots go to fight monsters without armour." Adam said with admonishment in his voice.
Kyla nodded her head in agreement. She didn't know if what he was saying was the truth, but it made sense.
Once again all the things he picked otu were on a table and Adam asked her to pick a few. Although he had set some things aside, as they were necessary apparently.
Kyla looked down at the table and the armour pieces on it. Most of it was light armour, which Kyla didn't mind.
After looking thoroughly she decided on these pieces of armour.

They were basic items, but Kyla wasn't complaining. And all the items she had were useful, even if they were low ranked.
"Let's go." Adam commanded as he and Kyla went to exit the armoury.
"See ya, John." Adam said to John, who was still sitting near the entrance, reading his newspaper.
"Later." John said casually, without looking up again.
"See you John." Kyla said, copying Adam. Although she was speaking more quickly and formally than him.
"Good luck, newbie." John said to her, only taking a glance at her from the corner of his eye.
Kyla paused at that, seeing it was the longest sentence he had ever said. But felt happy at him wishing her luck, so with a big smile on her face she exited the room while shouting back to him. "Thank you."
Kyla had to jog to catch up to Adam, who hadn't stopped his power walk. The door to the armoury closed slowly without anyone having to touch it.
Once they were in the front lobby a few people tried to get Adam's attention by calling out to him, but he ignored it all in favour of continuing his walk to get to his car as quickly as possible.
Once they were in the car a few people from inside ran outside to get Adams attention but he ignored them again and almost ran someone over when they ran out in front of his car.
"Jackasses." Adam muttered, scoffing at their stupidity if they thought he was going to give them the time of day when they were just going to lambast him.
Kyla looked confused at why people were trying to get his attention and why he was ignoring them. But didn't feel any sympathy for the person who almost got run over. That was their fault.
Kyla decided to ask what that was all about. "Why are they trying to talk to you?"
Adam looked at her from the corner of his eye, wondering if he should tell her. Although he was still paying attention to the road ahead of them.
Adam decided he might as well, it was better to have her prepared for a similar situation. "I'm a Hunter as you know, and I'm a damn good one too." Adam admitted, tooting his own horn. "But not even being very good at your job can stop mistakes from happening." Adam ruefully admitted to Kyla and himself.
Adam took a breath before continuing, also deciding to use the normal speed in this drive. "And one day… me and a team that was created, entered a gate. Turned out… It was a Cursed Gate. That day, I was the only one to exit the gate alive." Adam said to her.
"I'm sorry." Kyla said sadly. She didn't want to bring up bad memories for Adam, he was doing a lot for her. But now she feared she had made him sad, or maybe mad at her.
"Don't worry about it." Adam dismissed her concerns as soon as he saw them growing. "It's not like you would have known."
Kyla nodded her head, but then turned to him confused as she spoke. "But… then why do those people want to talk to you?" She asked.
Adam scoffed, thinking of those people, news reporters, journalists, podcasters or as Adam 'loving' called them, Jackasses. "They think i killed them. Before you ask why, it's because an argument was recorded between us. But it's out of context, it started as an argument about what food to eat after the raid on the gate but a disagreement happened and turned into a full blown argument. Although we sorted it out before we entered the Gate, which turned out to be a Cursed Gate." Adam explained the situation to her.
Although he was still regretful that one of the last conversations he had with his team, his friends, was an argument. It was over something so stupid to. And although they worked it out before they died, he still wished that it never happened in the first place.
Kyla shook her head, it annoyed her that something out of context could ruin someone's life so much. Although, she had a feeling that Adam's life was already ruined before these people started harassing him. Maybe these people were, in a way, helping him? They did this by taking his mind off the main issue and focused it on something else? Although she wasn't sure, she didn't even know Adam well enough to guess. But if it was her in that situation, it probably would've helped her.
Kyla then had another question, and seeing as they were almost there on the map he had in his car, she decided to ask it. "What's a Cursed Gate?"
Adam, forgetting that she actually knew nothing, looked at her a bit weirdly before he remembered that she didn't. "A Cursed Gate is the worst kind of Gate in existence. You're not able to tell it's one before you enter, and by then it's too late. It traps you inside and unless you kill the boss monster inside, you can't leave." Adam explained briefly.
But seeing as she was still curious and they still had time before they reached the Gate they were going to, he figured he could explain the finer details. "And the rank of the Cursed Gate isn't accurate, it might appear to be a C Rank Gate, but could turn out to be a B Rank one. It might not seem like much, but if a team of all C Ranks tried a B Rank Gate, they would die if they didnt turn back."
Adam remembers the day it happened. It was normal, until they entered the Gate, it was supposed to be a B Rank Gate, it was supposed to be an easy raid. That day was supposed to be many things, but it wasn't.
It turned out to be an A Rank Cursed Gate, and the hardest raids he had with that team. He had been in A Rank Gates with better teams, who were actually prepared for that level of difficulty, and made it out with only a few scratches, but it was so different when you weren't prepared and nothing went right.
They finally arrived at the Gate and both of them got out of the car.
Outside of the Gate was surrounded by yellow and black striped rope to not let anyone near the Gate. A few people in black suits were standing outside of the Gate, packing up machines and instruments they use into suitcases.
One of them saw Kyla and Adam walking up and walked to meet them in the middle.
"Excuse me, this is a restricted area. This Gate has been set to clear by some." The woman in the black suit said to them.
Kyla looked confused at Adam as he took out his phone to find an email. "Yeah, that's us." He informed her, before handing her his phone with the email on it.
She looked at, reading through things on the email before nodding and handing it back. "Sorry about that. You can go in now." She said, stepping to the side respectfully.
As Adam and Kyla entered the portal the woman couldn't help but wonder why a B Rank was with a new F Rank. And why the F Rank was with someone like Adam with all the controversies surrounding him at the moment.
Adam and Kyla stepped out of the other side of the portal. And Kyla couldn't help but almost trip over her own feet.
It was weird. She had just, technically, teleported into another world. And it felt so natural like she was walking, even though she thought she would've felt something else.
Around them was a big cave with touches sporadically lining the walls.
Adam looked around once and already knew what type of dungeon this was. "It's a goblin dungeon." Adam said, and at Kylas confused look he continued. "Goblins are small green creatures which resemble very ugly children that were filled to the brim with drugs while in the womb and the day they were born… and then hit that in the head ten times and whatever you imagine is probably close to the actual thing."
Kyla tried to imagine it, but having no idea what a child looked like, she just imagined a very small ugly green person. Her face scrunched up in disgust at the image, it wasn't nice.
Adam, seeing her face, chuckled. "Yeah, you've definitely got the right image if that's your reaction." He then coughed into him and continued to talk as they moved slowly further into the dungeon as Adam heard a rock crumble. "That type of dungeon at this rank, should have less than a hundred goblins, probably less than fifty. And the boss monster would be a HobGoblin." Adam informed her.
Kyla nodded, not really paying attention to her surroundings because of lack of experience. "Boss monster?" She asked.
Adam was about to answer, before he let out an annoyed sigh as he spoke. "Just a second."
Kyla heard some disgusting shout behind her, and when she turned around with her staff in front of her, ready to attack… there was nothing.
Kyla looked confused as there was nothing, although she did see a few drops of bright red blood.
"At least your reaction time is good, we just have to work on your awareness." Adam said to her and when she turned around to face him, a ugly green face with jaundice eyes that had red pupils.
Kyla let out a shout of surprise and hit the thing with her staff. It flew and landed on the ground away from them.
"Good, that's what you should do. At least you didn't freeze." Adam said as he looked approvingly at Kyla.
Kyla took deep breaths as she spoke. "You… held that up to my face?!" She asked incredulously. Why would he do that?! She wasn't really mad, just a bit frightened of it and curious as to why he did and what he got out of it.
"Yeah, I killed it and brought it back before you even turned around when you heard that noise." Adam admitted to her.
Kyla looked at him in shock. When he said 'Just a second' he had probably already been behind her and killed the monster.
"Oh." Adam said, remembering her question. "A boss monster is the strongest monster in the dungeon. But once you kill it, the dungeon will close in about an hour or at least an hour for this rank of dungeon. We usually get the corpses of the normal monsters out first and then kill the boss monster and get it out in that hour, but since you've got me we don't have to slow down for that. An hour after will be enough." Adam said confidently.
"Come on, next monsters yours." Adam said as he waved her over to stand at the front.
With Kyla now in the lead, the hunt in the Goblin Dungeon could properly begin.
