Chapter 2 - The New World

It's the 35th day since my birth to this new world. It was all so sudden that I spent all the first three days hoping that "this" dream would end, it didn't... However, I will grow up here to find my way back to my real world. But who am I kidding? I don't even know if what was my "past" was really the real thing or if it was an illusion to prepare me for this whole new world.

Upon coming to this world and spending time understanding things I learned. At first, I suspected that I was born at an earlier age of the Earth being our "stove" was fueling out of wood or we were just poor. I heard my mom, whose name is Lilia, and my father, Lupel a swordsman? or a hunter; it's not clear to me yet since he goes out having a sword at his waist and a crossbow at his back.

He comes home bringing a fat bunny home every time; I knew I wasn't born to a much earlier age of the world because the fat bunny Lupel brought home every time had horns as far as I know, although I don't listen to lectures much I'm pretty sure bunnies don't have horns. Also, the pot they use to cook things is kind of special. It wasn't steel nor iron; it glows. It was my daily hobby to watch it every time, funny how I call it a hobby since I don't do anything except sleep, eat, and watch that thing.

Day 128th, I have a good memory; holy smokes *ahem* up until now, nothing special happened, but today is different. Someone knocked on our door; it was near dawn, and I was scared this was an unknown world with fat-horned bunnies. I was prepared to die, but then it was just a guy the same size as Lupel. They talked a bit in front of the door then they looked like they made a deal.

The next event that unfolded in front of my eyes shocked me more than when I saw a dead horned fat bunny; it was a mushroom! Yes, a mushroom 3 feet tall alive mushroom. It was chubby, with small extendable hands, tiny feet, and a face that could put people at ease. I wasn't intimidated by it. It was really adorable. I wondered what it was for, then after the man left, Lupel talked with the mushroom, placed his hand above his head, and said something; suddenly, the mushroom picked up a broom and started doing chores. Hey, we might not be poor if we hired a mushroom who can do chores better than Lilia.

A whole year has passed since coming to this world; people here don't celebrate birthdays, but they do something called "Fabula vera" which is basically storytelling. The story goes like this.

"This is the story of how Terra Omnium was made and what happened to it... There was once a god, an omnipotent god that saw loneliness within the world he appeared in, so he made three lands Supra Meda, Terra Meda, and Unda Meda. Upon doing this his powers exhausted he created 3 beings that will support each other to make the land beautiful and full of life. He then went to Supra Meda to rest."

"The first creation Xelia the goddess of light felt her power stronger on Supra Meda, so she went there and made herself the guardian of the omnipotent god. Emeth, the god of man, felt comfortable on Terra Meda. Emer made himself the ruler of Unda Meda as he was the last creation who needed a place to grow. Xelia kept guarding the god, Emeth wanted company on his land so he created animals and humans to co-exist. Emer saw this happening and got jealous of life that he made death possible to befall whenever he wishes. He made monsters, demons, undead, and curses. Emeth wasn't as powerful as Emer, so he sacrificed himself to create the other races to help humans defend themselves against the forces Emer created... He then perished"

"Terra Meda lost its god. Out of the creatures created in his final moments' dwarves have contributed more than anyone, they liked the humans because of human's booze, and so with humans, dwarves, elves, and mermans defended against the forces of Emer and fought for 1000 years. In all those years, the goddess of light didn't bother helping Emeth's creations."

"One day, one dwarf smith named Ocu turned the tables around by inventing and creating blood weapons, and those who wielded them were called weapon bearers; they gained unimaginable power. However, this wasn't enough, and while the weapon bearers had Emer's forces cornered, the other dwarf smiths built a wall around the last human settlement. Emeth's creation gained peace for ten years, but it doesn't remove everyone's worries that the walls will fall someday... Ocu decided that he would put everything on his final masterpiece for the remaining embers of his life. Each strike of his hammer damaged everything in the vicinity weapons, tools, armors, including the walls. The next strike repairing them as if nothing happened. they say that this phenomenon caused the weapon, tools, armors, and the wall to be much sturdier and better of quality. After what happened, Ocu died without completing his masterpiece. However, he did make the walls sturdier that no Emer's forces can wear them down. Peace was then brought to Terra Meda."

That story ignited something inside of me and made me question. If Emer was really that powerful, why didn't he himself attack Terra Meda?

Unlike any fantasy manga/anime I've read/watched, this world had no magic; it was recorded as a theory and nothing more. Spells from tools that are inscribed on them do exist, too, and some humans used curses. This was common knowledge, and Lilia would tell me this every time.

Another year went by, and to my parent's surprise, I was growing up faster than anyone else; I was also taller than everyone my age, they say. Language is no problem in here; it's the same as the one I grew up within the real world. I'm growing hesitant to call my old world the real one.

Lupel told me that when boys reach the age of ten; they receive their blood weapons; my mother, Lilia, was against it and said it was dangerous.

By acquiring a blood weapon, you will be recognized as one of the capital's mercenaries or can be an adventurer to make a living. Acquiring them is no small feat, and just a few get to receive good ones enough to make the capital want you. What makes my parent confident you ask? That's because my father's bloodline always gets chosen by the capital. However, I was invested in studying why magic is only a theory. I've read a few books about it, but no clues were found.

Five years goes by; when I was five years old, I started practicing the sword because my father made me, and it doesn't sound bad because later on, I should be defending myself from the wonders of this world, now that I am 7 only three years left before I get to have my own blood weapon. Whilst training, I continued my search for magic. The nearby town had a library, so I started my search there.

"Magic is from... huh..? the book is burnt."

I thought to myself, and this was it; this is the most cliche thing I'll be seeing today, I just have to find the author, and I'll have my leads.

"Pardon me, But I am looking for the author of this book." I asked the bookkeeper.

He only pointed to a small backroom that I wasn't aware of. There I saw a figure that made me unknowingly stop at my march towards it.

I clenched my fist and toughened my resolve, and I saw a girl seated; it was no ordinary girl. I was astonished because that girl is someone I know from my old world.
