She looked up at me, our eyes met. I am gazing at her from head to toe. She was stunningly beautiful. Her stature was of a doll; her eyes colored silver like the moonlight and her eyes, she- its as if she sees right through me, her hair looked gorgeous.
I wondered, "how beautiful.."
She tilted her head while staring at me. I couldn't move; I was too stunned by her beauty.
"Hey..." she spoke.
Her voice was serene, and it made me comfortable. However, it didn't change the fact that I was amazed by her beauty.
"H-hello..." As I stood straight.
"Hi.." she greeted back, looking at me with curious eyes.
She stood, and she was a little bit taller than me.
"What are you here for?~," She asks and bends while rubbing off the dust from her skirt.
"I- uhh I."
I panicked, and while I was trying to show her the book, it almost fell, and I tried to catch the book. I showed her something embarrassing, but she was just there staring at me with her emotionless face.
"Ahem.. Uh, this book the librarian said I could find the author here.. So do you know who?"
"What book is it?" She asked while trying to see what book I was holding.
"It's entitled Magic Origins and some of the pages are burnt so I came to ask the author for a copy if he had one, Also I am interested in it because it felt mysterious."
Thoughts to myself, "Why am I speaking so much she just asked what book is it gahhh.." Silence covered the room. I looked at her slowly, and she looked disturbed and worried by what I said.
"What's wrong?" I worried that I might have said something to upset her.
"Nothing.." She looked at me and then said. "I need to go.." as she walks out the room with a troubled face.
"oh... o-okay."
She then walked out of the room, and I was left looking at the air for a while.
"What is this.. feeling on my chest.." I asked myself dubiously.
I came back to my senses and looked around the room. There was no other person there; I came out of the room and asked the librarian again.
"The author wasn't there, there was only a girl," I said while pointing at the room looking at the librarian.
The librarian replied. "Sure she was, she just left."
I was surprised; everything makes sense now. That was why she looked worried. The night was about to come, so I decided to meet her the next day here. I went home.
The next day.
I went to the library again, asking the librarian if she was there.
He said, "Nope."
with my luck failing me, I waited till the lights went out and she didn't come.
Another day has passed.
Same results.
Two days passed.
I am still waiting for her. Whilst waiting, I read more books to know more about things in this world. Apparently, there is a hierarchy amongst people, especially on the mercenaries that get recruited in the capital—Adamantium, diamond, gold, silver, and bronze. Adventurers have ranks called Terra, SS, S, A, B, and C. Terra being the highest, only a number of people have been granted the title for almost 500 years. They say that their strength alone can rival one "Ring's" military forces. A Ring is basically a country; it's what people call it here. Time passed really quickly again, and she was still not here. I called it a day and went home.
Lilia is cooking my favorite soup.
"Still the best soup ever," I stated
"Aww thank you Zeal sweetie." she placed her hand next to Lupel and looked at him.
Lupel was staring at me weirdly.
I asked, "What's wrong father? Do I have anything on my face?"
"Uh-hum Where have you been heading these past few days? You even skip training with your sword. Are you looking for someone?" He hesitantly asked.
Lupel's intuitions are good. He once caught the town's bandits by guessing where and when they were going to attack.I replied. "Yeah, I've been waiting for a girl-"
He stood up, and it surprised Lilia and me.
"Oh.. sorry haha continue, continue my son". He says while having that big grin on his face, Lilia looking at Lupel weirdly with a big heavy sigh.
"So Zeal, who is this girl you are looking for?" Lilia said.
She was no different and just had the same grin on her face. This is a very cliche moment, and I didn't want to waste it, so.
"She is a gorgeous girl; I might just ask her hand for marriage," I sarcastically said.
Both of them go, "REALLY?!?"
"I'M OBVIOUSLY KIDDING, I'm so young why would you even reply with REALLY?!? Seriously wasn't your question supposed to be "NoOOoO, you're too young to be thinking of this."."
"What do you mean too young, your half the age of being prepared to be married to someone's daughter." Says Lupel while stuffing his mouth with food.
I was just full of disbelief. And I continued on what I was saying.
"She is someone I need to talk to, she is the author of the mysterious book about magic."
"Hold on," as Lupel stopped me from speaking.
"Author? For a book? How old is this girlfriend of yours?" he said.
"Hahh??? She's not my girlfriend".
He laughs, and Lilia giggles.
"hmph. She is older than me by a year or two I guess that's all I know". I replied
"So young and an author of a book, that's impressive- Oh! Isn't that the daughter of the Cruz Family?" Lupel said.
I whispered to myself. "Cruz? Where did I hear that name from.."
"Cruz? You know her family?" I curiously asked.
"Yeah, isn't she that pretty young girl with silver hair and eyes?" he replied to my question.
"YES!"
( Ah, I shouted. ) They both laughed at me, and I was too embarrassed to tell them to stop. I waited for their laugh out and asked them.
"So can I get to meet her? It's just for the book don't even get the wrong idea".
"Yeah yeah....." as he turns to look at Lilia. "Lilia."
They both looked at each other and nodded. I was really concerned.
"Zeal sweetie go wash up and sleep tight." Lilia said.
"No, wha- what was that just now." I asked with a worried expression.
"Don't worry about it son, just go do what your mother told you." Lupel replied.
I was hesitant just to let this go and felt like they were up to something not good. But I did what Lilia told me to do anyway.
Morning came, I stood. I washed up for breakfast and went out of my room. There I see my parents all dressed up, bringing food baskets.
"What's happening, are you guys going somewhere?"
"Oh! Zeal! You're up, don't you remember? We are going to the Cruz' house to visit them". She replied with a big smile.
I was like, "Oh yeah that... WAIT. WE?!" "You guys are coming?!"
"Yeahhh won't it be fun?" Still with that smile.
Lupel was just smirking at me while holding out something. So this was their plan all along last night. I just let it be and decided to see this through.
"what's that father?" I asked.
"Why? This is your suite!" as he waves it at, please don't need any suite, mother, please tell him I don't need it," I begged Lilia to make him stop.
But Lilia was just smiling at me, expecting me to wear that thing. We argued for a whole ten minutes before they agreed to let me go on my casual clothes. While walking to the Cruz' house, father was greeted by a lot of people around town. I guess he was really famous for anticipating a bandit raid.
Finally, at the Cruz' Frontdoor.
Lupel knocked on the door and called out the people in there, The door opened, and I started to feel nervous and strange.
