My eyes widened. I was going to witness some drama in a few minutes. Before the guards came out, I hid well behind the curtains. After that moment, until Edward arrived, the art hall was silent. It was as if they were all mourning the death of that old man.
Things would have been much better if Edward came alone to the art hall but his bad luck or maybe mine, Evelyn followed him as well.
I returned back to my previous position once the door closed in front of me. I felt no shame in eavesdropping anymore.
"Why is your fiancée here?" the first question itself sounded harsh.
"I'm here for Justice's sake," Evelyn's voice trembled in between her sniffles. 'Was she crying?'
"…There's nothing we could do that could console princess at the moment. Please rest in your chamber while we discuss the crime, princess," though the words were assuring, the voice lacked empathy.
"My BROTHER is dead," Evelyn spoke emphasizing the word brother.
