Blood was very important for people like Yolk who wield superpower. It could contain their attainments, causing their rank downgraded if it was leaked.
That was the stakes Lena and Yolk put on this treatment. Besides lifespan, they would also lose some of their attainments.
By saying that, it didn't mean they could not control the attainments that leaked. As long as they concentrate, they could measure how much attainments, power, blood, and lifespan they had to sacrifice.
Frankly speaking, they didn't mind if they lose their achievements. The last five days' breakthrough was partly due to the guest anyway.
Not only did they have many breakthroughs, but they also had received much more profound knowledge. Attainments would affect their rank, not the eternal knowledge that lived inside their mind.
"Dear, we trust you. You are our guardian as you always be," said Lena while hugging Ziya. Both held a wooden tube but Lena had a more profound aura.
Releasing the warm hug, Lena, and Ziya threw their gaze on Eldu, the first patient. He seamlessly breathed, sleeping soundly. However, his pale face said the opposite.
The place for treatment was a private field; people rarely visit this place unless they got invited.
Yolk came in with a turtle shell. He immediately checked every herb and tool before nodding out of confirmation.
The turtle shell slightly trembled, then it let out an invisible dome that covered the field. After it was fully covered, Yolk put the shell on a basin and closed it with some leaves. This dome acted as a soundproof, also as a shield.
"Everyone's ready?" Yolk stared at his beloved family one by one.
Deep in his thought, he had less confidence, unlike his usual self. When Lena fetched Ziya, he did a little experiment on the blood.
Surprisingly, it was strong blood. Strong enough to repel toxic or attack on his level.
Even when he dipped a unique herb that would evaporate overbearing beast blood, this young man's blood stayed motionlessly, not affected at all.
"I know what you're thinking. Do you think I will recklessly spend my blood without ample preparation?" Lena grunted. She caught her husband attacking a tiny cup that had Eldu's blood, which was ridiculous, but the thing afterward shocked her.
Surely, her guests this time were mysterious and interesting. Had gone this far, she would finish what she start, planning to use one of the most precious pills she owned.
When her parents got a nerve-wracking moment, Ziya took this matter casually. She knew her mother did blood treatment before, and it had gone well. After all, she was just a little girl, still green about many things.
Without wasting more time, Yolk raised his hands as a faint silver pentagon shone, engulfing his arms until all his upper body was covered in silver armor. His eyes emitted a silver light, replacing the retina.
At the same time, Lena shook the wooden tube and a waterfall appeared on her back like a robe. It poured down superfluously but it didn't make the ground wet.
Lena smeared a new batch of the medicinal herb, in powder form, on Eldu. Its effect multiplied due to her power.
Ziya walked and put a bowl between them, besides Eldu. Inside of the bowl was herbs mixed with Eldu's blood.
After she placed it, Lena and Yolk cut the tip of their index finger, and a drop of blood fell onto the bowl.
Nothing happened.
They exchanged a glance and nodded, then drop another blood. They waited for a moment without anything particular happening.
Seeing this, Lena stretched a hand towards Yolk, giving him a white-yellowish pill. Yolk reluctantly swallowed the pill albeit knowing its price.
As he swallowed, suddenly enormous energy broke out from his body, followed by a bright pentagon formed onto his chest as his eyes lit up, emitting more dazzling lights.
Lena swallowed the same pill a moment later.
The field was suddenly moist and the ground where she stood became wet. The wooden tube on her hand was floating beside her, surfing on her waterfall shoulder.
After stabilizing the pill effect, they collected two drops of their respective blood. This time, they dripped it on a wooden tube and gloves. Lena dripped it on both tube sides whilst Yolk dripped on both gloves.
Despite the quantity, their face paled with their skin slightly darkened and withered, like a person who did not sleep for a week.
Seeing their complexion, Ziya puffed her chubby cheeks, carefully poured her energy towards her parent. In a few breaths, she showed a sign of running out of breath.
Lena and Yolk felt warm energy revitalized them a little bit. They couldn't help but turn their head and notice their little guardian was doing her best. Gentle smiles adorned their face then exchanged a nod, continuing the treatment.
Moments later, they gathered energy around, forming a sphere and aiming it at the bowl. A chaotic wind formed, throwing everything around including leaves that closed the turtle shell.
As the leaves flew, the turtle shell tensed up, dispersing the wind in a mere second.
After it died down, Yolk glanced at Lena and she nodded as confirmation.
"Prepare for the impact!"
As Yolk shouted, an eerie aura rose with frightening speed from the bowl, hit the sky in less than a blink of an eye. The aura was blurry, but they heard a hissed ringing inside their head.
Bang!
Loud impacts, hissed that hammering their mind rapidly. One hiss ripped their body apart as though countless thorns stabbed their body.
"Ziya, close your ears!" The hiss caused mental damage. Even Yolk and Lena grunted, blue veins popped out of their forehead as they struggled to withstand it.
There was no way Ziya could handle it. As the result, she vomited a mouthful of blood. Her eyes bleeding, and she could not hear anything around her.
Trembling, she feebly tried to shake the wooden tube. However, she couldn't use her energy. It all went dry in an instant!
"Ziya, run!" Lena couldn't bear seeing her daughter in such a state.
"Lena! Lena! Focus! Now or never!" Yolk also felt regret, involving his one and only daughter. Nevertheless, he had no choice but to continue this treatment.
Before they pushed the sphere of energy onto the bowl, another sound ravaged their mind.
Roar!
It was a majestic roar as if a domineering king arrived at this humble field, forcing everyone to kneel with fear.
Ziya felt this boundless, unfathomable aura, which made her feel suffocated. She felt a frightening aura clawing her neck.
On the other hand, Lena and Yolk poured more energy, maintaining the sphere and at the same time, splitting their mind to withstand the roar.
"Condense!" Yolk tightened his hand. The turbulence effect on the sphere died down.
"Hrmp!" Scoffing, Lena's wooden tube formed a tsunami, pressuring the aura from blood.
Once the aura calmed, Lena opened her palm on Ziya who was struggling to lift her body. A surge of water flowed towards Ziya, giving her the energy to escape.
Ziya knew what her mother meant, so in stattering, she walked out of the field.
"All good. Continue!" Lena could finally focus after Ziya had escaped.
When they thought the last roar was the end, myriad sounds came abruptly. It was as though a water dam crumbled, letting out immense pressure in the same time.
The bowl cracked, and they felt seamless yet boundless energy approaching them.
"Gate!"
"Threshold!"
Yolk crossed his arms while Lena placed the wooden tube upfront. A barrier of energy formed, causing the sphere to turbulence.
'Dividing energy made the sphere has less power. This won't d--' Before he finished his thought, a vicious momentum hit him.
At that very moment, his vision turned blurry, replaced by an immense mountain of blood. He was situated in the foot of the mountain.
Strangely, he was able to see the peak. On the peak, there was a pure white stone, placed on a sacred altar as if this was the only light on this vicious mountain.
From the base to the peak, he saw myriad creatures fighting endlessly. Scene by scene appeared from time to time, flashed before his eyes in a brief moment, showing the brutal fate of the world, the survival of the fittest.
Ripping tendons like rippling a marshmallow. One stomp turned a group of creatures into a mist of blood.
A colossal ape easily slapped terrifying birds like fireflies. A figure of a creature moved so fast that only an after-image was seen.
Tremendous fear and admiration surged, tempted him to see more kinds of creatures yet he also felt like he was watching a taboo story.
This was a lifetime opportunity to witness these higher-level beings.
However, two giants emerged out of nowhere, taking the stone quickly then fleeing right away. A roaring dragon stopped them, and many more creatures joined the battles.
The giants retaliated and tried to pierce a way out to find an escape route, but the endless waves of enemies left them no choice
Stream of blood flowed from the peak as the battle escalated, with many creatures turned into corpses. The blood turned into a river, corroded one path that eventually made this particular arch barren.
Screams of pain and agony filled the air, and black clouds sent several thunders, adding the irony. However, the clouds sent no rain, because red bloody rain already poured down, making the whole scene into dead red.
In the final moment, the giants had deep wounds all over their body. One limb to another seemingly going to be gone.
As they drowned in the sea of blood and bones, they decisively roared, threw the only light, sacred white stone in the air.
