Speaking of Fang Family, this was a neutral-faction family in town that controlled over boutiques and decorations business. It held a not-so-high yet not-so low position in the faction.
Albeit the involvement in 'soft' side, Fang Family had a remarkable army, preventing other families from bullying them. Still, it would not be enough against the tide.
Their army was private property. In the ongoing turmoil due to two sects' envoys, Mora thought Fang Family wouldn't willing to send any. Sending some meant putting themselves in danger.
Thinking this, Mora scoffed internally. 'What a joke!'
"I'm quite fond of this village and I'm truly shocked with the news." Mora kept his expression calm and responded with a sigh. "I will try my best to ask for support from the town."
Finished his words, he looked at others with a smile.
The rest realized his intention, and they couldn't help but smile back with a joyful feeling. In their mind, they knew that Mora was a former middle-class businessman with extensive connections.
Sapa welcomed him with open hands, saying with a smile. "Continue."
"I can't tell for sure." Mora slightly shook his head. "Wait for the good news."
With that, it calmed the others down.
And the discussion went further into detail, considering certain matters such as scouting, gathering resources, and so on. The meeting lasted until the afternoon.
After everyone left except Yolk and Sapa, a long sigh abruptly came out of Yolk. He had too many things on his mind Of course, he couldn't tell Sapa about Eldu and others.
"Are you alright?" Sapa asked with concern.
"I'm alright. I feel guilty for not doing the last week's mission. Do you think I should go now to ask them?" His hand visibly trembled, recalling his past experience about beast tide.
"It's too late. If we inform them now, it'll only add fuel to fire." Sapa shook his head lightly.
"Mora's colleagues," Adjusting his seat, Yolk asked. "Do you think they'll ask insane price in return?"
"Mora is a diligent man. He strived hard even after the bankruptcy and has a heart of a gentleman."
It meant he's unlikely to have colleagues that would extort an unreasonable price. Moreover, what could possibly attract tycoons in this remote village? Those businessmen basically had everything.
In the worst scenario, they would claim all loot without sparing any for the village. It was the most likely demand they would offer for the village survival as the price.
Sapa and Yolk knew well this possibility and did not mind it. As long as one still breathed, one could seek the lost.
Before going into detail, Sapa knew that beast tide was one in a million tragedies. From ages ago, countless villages had perished through natural selection. One more village gone extinct would not be a huge loss to the world.
The powerhouses mostly overlooked such matter either.
Why would they make a big fuss over a mere beast tide which they could easily suppress? And what's the point of lending a hand?
Their fame would increase day by day without sparing a sweat. Let's say they want some precious materials, many would offer it without price to gain favor from them.
Besides, the beast tide happened in many places. Imagine if these mighty figures solved it back and forth like a lackey, how humiliating!
Realizing this fact, Sapa felt dejected, and thus, he put high faith in Mora.
Since Mora experienced a setback in town, Sapa thought he would cherish this village, afraid if he would lose something precious again. Hence, Mora would seek the best help he could get.
By that, Sapa and Yolk had a little discussion regarding further preparation and the worst possibility that could befall the village.
In the house, Lena with her cracked wooden tube continuously poured energy on the cracked bowl inside the steel case.
Earlier, Eldu and others were moved inside the house to have a better environment.
"I never thought it would be so easy." Currently, she was in the process of refining the materials for the medicine.
She thought she had to unload the medicine vault and had prepared as many herbs as possible so that she could withstand the vicious energy impact from the cracked bowl.
However, as soon as she started the refinement, she smoothly refined the ingredients inside the bowl into powder substances.
In her vision just now, she saw an invisible path had been created, and all she had to do was to follow the path, slowly refine it smoothly.
"Amazing. It's finished, and a high-quality one!"
The finished medicine was a pouch of red powder with a bitter and unpleasant smell. The smell was something that would help them awake, hopefully.
"Now, it depends on your ability." She looked at the sleeping Eldu.
It depended on Eldu's will to live. He had no choice but to fight and dominate the substance that tainted the blood. Otherwise, it would devour him and be a soul-less body.
"Ugh, what's this smell?" Yolk pinched his nose right when he entered the house. He noticed red powder on the table and understood immediately.
"No way, that's too fast. Did you force yourself again? What did you consume? Let me check your body." His wrinkles became vivid, rushing toward Lena.
Lena waved. "I didn't use any supplement. I feel like I'll have a breakthrough soon."
Grinning, Yolk asked with excitement. "Again?"
Lena nodded as confirmation.
"How did you refine it so fast? Even if you have a breakthrough, it's impossible to refine the ingredients with this speed." Yolk observed the red power.
"A high quality at that?!" A look of astonishment adorned his face.
"It's just happened. I don't know how." Lena sighed. A flash of memory passed through her mind. "Oh!"
She then pushed Yolk outside, led him to the backyard.
Yolk wondered why Lena suddenly pulled him to the kitchen. "What's the matter?"
Not long after, he saw a white pigeon perched on a tree branch. Something was tied on its leg.
Yolk raised one arm, and the pigeon flew, perched on his right shoulder. Casually untied a roll on the pigeon's leg, puzzlement filled Yolk's face.
He silently read the message. After that, he asked: "when did the pigeon come?"
"After we finished breakfast," replied Lena shortly.
"This is either a blessing or a calamity." Yolk looked at the far horizon. "Two big sects that visit the town will send their representative here."
"When will they come?" asked Lena with concern.
"Approximately three days. I'll report this now." Yolk activated his gloves. Caressing Lena's head, Yolk said: "don't push yourself too much."
Lena could feel his hand trembling anxiously before he set off. She watched the back of her man transformed into a white light, moving straight outside at a high speed.
Too many things that happened in a short time made her hesitate on which matter she ought to prioritize. Especially after dragging Yolk and Ziya into treating Eldu, she genuinely felt wronged.
The guests' identity was the biggest mystery. It would be a lie if her family was not afraid of the incoming problem that might entangle the guest which most likely would implicate her family.
In fact, since they witnessed the battle over a white stone, they were afraid of nothing but those beings; their standards increased to an unimaginable height.
Yet they knew deeply if such a creature visited this unworthy place, they had no chance to survive at all. One stomp would turn the whole village into dust.
Because of that, they committed to curing Eldu and others to the fullest even with no strings attached.
Now, she had three blood treatments awaiting. She wracked her brain, thinking about how to do the remaining treatment with such difficulty.
Eventually, she decided to wait until Eldu regained his consciousness.
Aside from this matter, Lena knew that she had to deal with beast tide soon. Considering the new variable, two big sects, She couldn't help but worry.
After all, these sects could flip over any plan Sapa had decided. Whether they came with good intentions, Lena could only hope for the survival of the village.
