Chapter 3 - The King of the Vampires

We have come through the portal and the world of the vampires was something to behold. It was much like the human realm but darker and evil-looking. I looked around and saw the streets were not that crowded with people. Andreea then said out loud, "Good, not many vampires are up this morning, we can travel without trouble." I wondered what she meant by that, were we not supposed to be here? Would the others try to kill us on the spot or would something else happen?

Andreea looked at both my brother and eye and saw we were very out of place here, we had human clothes on and everyone else was dressed in nice and victorian inspired clothing. "We must get you something different to wear before you meet my father. Our people can be very difficult when it comes to your kind." Andreea said pulling us into a clothing store, there I saw a red suit two-piece suit with a black shirt and black shoes. I looked like a mob boss from the early sixties, with how bright the suit was, Brad found a totally black outfit that he liked and added a pink shirt to it.

Andreea and the girls didn't like my choice but loved that Bradley choose something normal for them. "I'm an author I should stand out a bit, or do you think I can't handle myself with a vampire." I said to the girls as they agreed to the last part, "He can overpower someone like Alexandra he should be fine on his own." Said Cristina opening up her pocket for money to pay the owner of the shop. I grabbed all my things from my old clothes and I threw them into the trash, "Ma am can you get rid of those when you can please?" Andreea asked the owner and the woman bowed her head and did what she was asked.

We left the shop and we headed down the street when more people started to gather. They were all heading to a huge building in the middle of the city. It looked like a modern castle but it didn't feel like it was an official building. I asked the girls, "What is that place? It looks like a castle." They turned to me and told me that it was Andreea's father's castle. I stopped walking with the group when I noticed the others around us were watching me.

Maybe having a red suit drew a lot of attention, more than what I was expecting, I smiled and winked at a girl who was the closest to me. I saw they haven't stopped walking so I ran to catch up to just come up the front door of the castle. The door was a bright white like snow, and when it opened inside was gold and sparkly.

"Hello Princess Andreea and hello to you two, Miss Alex and miss Cristina you both loo..." The butler stopped and glared at me and Bradley. "Hello sir, it's nice to see a smiling face," I said shaking the man's hand, he took my hand when Andreea smirked. "This is Jacob, he's that writer father likes so much, turns out he's more than an adventurer." When she said that everyone within earshot looked back to us.

I saw how everyone was, their eyes glowed red and I didn't feel safe right at that moment. Till that was when I felt the room change to cold. A heavy wind hit the room and I saw a mist of dark magic form around me then appeared a man. He was dressed in a darker red version of my suit, he had dark hair and light skin, ears were pointed and his teeth looked perfect. The man was indeed a leader of some kind but I didn't think he was the Vampire king.

He then had a copy of the first book that I've ever written in his hand, He pulled it out and then he said. "Could you sign my copy of your book, it would mean a lot if you did?" I laughed and I pulled a pen I had in my pocket. I dropped the journal I had in my other pocket and the man saw its title. We looked at each other and he picked up the book and gave it to me. I sign his copy of the book and he kept looking at the journal.

"I sense you're not a regular human, you have this old soul around you that is familiar." He patted back and we went to the table near the front of the ballroom. We sat at the table for a moment and I could feel the man was looking right at me. I was watching the guests around the room dancing and having fun. "I have figured out who you are." I said to the man, "You're daughter has not told me your name so I have been guessing, you're Vlad Dracul the Vampire King of legend. " I said and he shook his head yes, "Young man you are very good with finding the information you need, what is your trade secret?" He said to me picking at me watching everyone closely, " I write as you know, details are my job. Plus I've been to a lot of places, so the skills come from interacting with the world." I responded with and Vlad watched me look right at him, I took out the journal and showed him it.

He read all of my adventures within the hours of the party raging on, He didn't pay attention to the guests till the end. One of the Vampires decided to test his luck with Andreea, she was asked to dance by a proper-looking gent. I got up from the table and walked over to Andreea, she looked annoyed by the man till I got closer. The man looked at me and said, "Why don't you go fuck off you human trash, no one here is impressed by you." My smile wasn't on my face and then I picked the Vampire off the ground with one hand.

"And I thought Vampires are supposed to be this great evil with terrible strength, All I see is a poor excuse of a man. Leave Andreea alone she wants nothing to do with you," I said to the vampire as I set him down. So of the friends of the guy swarmed the area till I glared at them and Vlad stood up. Andreea turned me around and told me to leave it alone, I told her, "Never, I will not let anyone do as they please if it hurts others around them. People who bully to get their way piss me off, this is why I hate my own human...." I stopped for a moment then I walked away with Andreea, Everyone had just heard my secret, that I hated my own kind.

Vlad looked at me and wondered why I hated those of my own kind, was it because they were a dumb and dangerous race of people? Was it because they caused wars with each other and hurt many innocent people along the way? No, it was a bit more complicated than that, Vlad then bulled me aside and he asked me, "Why do you hate the humans?" I sat back in my chair and everyone listened to why I hated humans or most of them.

"The Human race is full of dangerous, scared, and racist horrid of groups that would much rather get rid of you or kill you because you are not like them. I've been around the world and seen things and done things normal humans wouldn't do. I've grown into a man that I like, not a human but the Jacob I was meant to be." Vlad looked at me and knew of all the adventures that I had, from my journal and from my books. this was a man whos seen much of the dark and the light part of the world.

"We as a race, know what it's like to be hurt by your kind, I lost my first love because of man. Not all humans are evil and not all Vampires are good, We share similar issues. don't hate anyone based on what you perceive, Fear can change into understanding." Vlad spoke to me, not as a leader or someone higher than me. He spoke to me as a person who lived a long time, he's been around for more than a few centuries. Everyone around us now understands that I hate my kind because of how they truly are. They didn't see me as a dumb human, but they still didn't like me at all.

Later that night I went home or to the hotel that was in the human world, I didn't write anything down that I experienced in the vampire world. I wanted to keep this one in my head, for the party, and talking with Vlad the Vampire king was a gift.
