This is my story, the ones not written down, the ones I have in my head. The stories I only share with my brother. It started right on the first page of my journal, the one I have in my jacket at all times.
I was about fifteen when I started to adventure from home, I found pretty cool things deep in the forest behind my house. Bradley was bout eleven years old and he would join me when I went into the woods. We would walk for hours and hours to the old stream near a small babbling waterfall. it wasn't very tall but it held something very cool and breathtaking. There lived a small race of people, they were very shy and didn't like humans snooping around their home. So Bradley and I would watch from afar and write about what we saw.
One day when I was chilling on a tree branch near the small village of the small people I started to draw them. I always wondered what they were, I never asked them and they didn't trust us very much. The person I was drawing was their leader, she was very beautiful and the wings she had were very colorful. Much like the night sky her wings were dark but had star-like dots all over them, not one dot was the same color. Sometimes when she would be mad at someone they would glow a bright red.
When I was done with the drawing I found myself being watched by the leader herself, She had noticed I wasn't writing like the times before. She looked at it and then looked at me, it had been a couple of years since we discovered them. She knew we had not done anything to hurt them so she began to ask me questions. "Why do you keep coming to see us? don't you feel like we don't want you or like you being here?" She asked me and I felt heartbroken, So I respond to her question with a sad reason.
"I come here with my brother sometimes because of two reasons, one is because it's peaceful here and the other reason. Because no one at home or even the people in town care about us, I come here to get away from all the hate. I thought you would pick that up from me never bothering you but for my..." The little woman stopped me and looked at my journal once more and asked to read it.
"I write about what I've seen on the hill and in the creek." I showed her all of what was in the book, she read everything. She like what I had written down and the true thoughts about her people so she read it out loud for her people to hear.
"I have been watching these tiny people for two years and all I've seen is a race of peaceful beings. They don't like my presence so I keep my distance to make sure they are comfortable enough so I can write and draw. I wish I could talk to at least one of them, I would love to know more about them. The people in town treat me like a monster as well as my brother, here they treat me like part of the forest." The woman looked at me when she saw the drawing again, "My name is Viza and I'm the queen of the Pixies and fairies of this forest." She said to me and she held out her hand to my face after she landed on my shoulder.
"We would like to understand you and I would welcome you to spend the day asking us questions. Just don't tell anyone about us, other than your younger brother. I had a tear rolling down my cheek and I told her, " I had never had someone let me into their world, it's only been me and my brother." She whipped my face clean and we began to talk about her people and what they did all day.
I found out magic was real to a point for her people and she could even control the forest to grow things fast. I sat near her little village and talked with everyone who wanted to talk to me, I soon had a bunch of pixies around me. Some sat on my shoulders and others hovered around me listening to my stories. Then one day when I came to write near the village I saw Bradley was there before me. He talked with them and learned about a job I could do before we left the town.
"Brother look, you can travel the country and write about what you find, maybe we can do that and find our place in this world. " We talked about that for a while till Viza came to me and encouraged me to do it. "You are a great writer and artist, you could make a fortune with your talent." She said to me and I finally gave up and choose to do what they said to do.
That's when Bradley and I began to travel the world going to place, meeting and talking to creatures and non-humans. when I met the vampires, that was a fun little moment of my great vast time on this planet.
A few years down the road I had adventures into a hidden village near the deep forests in South America. We had heard about a race of people living in the deep jungle I knew the rumors were not the humans from this area. So we headed into the forest with every intention of coming out of the forest alive. Now around this time is when Bradley I noticed I was stronger than normal people by a lot and Bradley was just as strong as I was. We could walk for days without getting tired, but the jungle was large and I had not slept in a couple of days.
We were near an old temple when I started to hear music from behind us, I was standing on the steps of the ruins. I looked around and saw a bunch of humans looking for what I had been looking for. They had nets and traps, they even had guns and dogs on chains. I looked at my brother when they shot at us, I blocked the first bullet and passed out from the pain. From that, I didn't know what had happened.
I had blacked out what seemed like a week and when I came to, I saw something that was straight out of a movie. I was in a city way up in the trees where you couldn't see anything but the tops of the trees below us. it was like I was in another world much like the vampire realm, I looked out the window and saw a magic-like dome. It covered the border wall at all angles and when I looked down I saw people. They were tall people much like normal humans but slimmer and had pointy ears. Then when I sat up from the bed I was in, I saw it was made from the very trees and leaves around us. I also felt my chest and felt the holes of where I was shot in but there was nothing but wounds now.
I got up from the bed and walked over to what looked like a bathroom and found a huge shower-like thing in it. I smiled and was about to take off my clothes when I heard a step behind me, There right behind me was a woman. She was dressed in a green and white dress with a crown on her head. She must be a ruler or queen of these people, I put my shirt on and I greeted her with my hand out. "Hello miss, thank you for saving my life, I am very appreciative of you. My name Is Jacob but most people just call me Jake." I said to her, she looked at me and denied my handshake.
This annoyed me a bit, yes I was young but where I came from a handshake was the custom to greet people. She then asked me what the journal I had was for? I gladly told her, "This is for when I meet different people and places on my worldwide journey. You see I have met a few not my own and I have one rule I follow. " I stopped talking for a moment when a group of guards came into my room. She looked at me and then looked at the guards, "If you would come with us we would love to hear about this journal from you." She said smiling at me, the smile for me seemed fake and another thing was I hadn't seen my brother yet.
I went with the woman and the guards to a thrown room about a ten minutes walk away from the room I was in. There in chains was my Brother, my mind went from calm to dead silent, the image of my brother in harm's way was too much. My anger took over and I was not me anymore, Bradley tried to tell them to get him out the chains but everyone told him to be quiet. Then I saw a guard him in the face with their hand. "You will die for hurting my brother, I came here to find and have a peaceful conversation with the people of this forest. Now since you attacked my brother you deserve this." I said but not as me, it was the darker version of me.
I walked over to the guard and he saw that my blue human eyes were now red like a demon. I grabbed the man by his throat and picked him up. I squeezed the life from his body till the dark version of me was stopped by the real me. I let the man go for a moment and then looked at the woman who brought me into the city. "I came here not to bother your people, but to learn from them from you. I am not here to expose you to the world, why would you save someone just to hurt them?" I said to her and she saw the pain in my eyes, the now trust I had was gone.
"I didn't trust you, you're human and they are dangerous to our kind to elf kind." I looked at her and then she said, "I only wanted to get answers out of you of why you had come seeking us. I didn't expect my guard to hurt the younger human as he did." She said signaling for the others to take the guard away. "We will have him dealt with in due time, now is that the truth, and what was that rule you were talking about." She said talking about earlier in the room I was in, " I never write in my journal about the people I met if they request me not to. " I said to her and she asked me if I'd met anyone who requested it yet, I shook my head no.
"Would you not write about this If I asked you not to?" She asked me and I shook my head yes, "The time I had with the Pixies taught me the true experience that we have in life is the ones not written down they are the ones in our memories." I said to the Elf and she looked at me like it was the most intelligent thing I've said this whole time. Her people had a similar quote they said to each other in the elvish language they spoke.
The queen came up to me and looked into my eyes, she then raised her hands and cast a spell. One that glowed yellow and bubbled around her hands. The yellow stuff covered my body and Bradley's, it began to recover our lost energy from the fight with the humans. " I have given you my healing spell as an apology for hurting you." The Queen said as she flew in a green orb into our bodies, she told us they were vitamines. I looked at my body and saw I was much taller and I lost a bit of my weight. I stood for a moment then I was asked to join the queen in a meal later that night, I accepted the invite and ate with the queen that night.
I then swapped stories about the pixies and the creatures I befriended in the mountains. I was having fun after that hard and weird moment with the elves. This was the story that I told the wolf and she wanted to know more about what I did after that night. I smiled and told her it might be in the book for non-human kind.
