Chapter 40 - Slumber

————————————

The void was big and deep, like the sea. One could move down, side, or up. The void was ever-growing just like the universe, so one could technically never reach the end of the void.

This is why even beings like the Fiend Emperor and Eternal Paragon, who explored the void, did not know much about its mysteries.

Currently, a being slept within the void, it was gigantic, more so than the Fiend Emperor. Its body was veiled in darkness, so it was impossible to see its shape or what kind of being it was.

Its exhale made the aether shake wildly all around it and its slight movement made fierce darkness consume everything around it.

Kakaka!

It was then, that its body slightly shook before its eyes opened, wide. They were blue eyes that were like small stars, that is the way they shone, as in reality, this being's eyes size was much bigger. Its eyes focused on the figure of an unconscious blond-haired man in the arms of a purple-haired beautiful woman.

{Wasgh thfiyg hesgh auyg hfias hgou}

Waa!

Words no one could understand were spoken. It sounded like gibberish to anyone who heard it. But these were all words of the being who had just woken up from its slumber. Its words made the universe slightly shake. Although it went unnoticed by everyone, even the paragons.

{Bunakea... Slaasoh... Shreu... This... Is this the language today?... Oh... Is this real?... Interesting... someone wants to evolve their bloodline with aether. Will it succeed and become 'that' or will he fail? Ah... Hmm... he is also someone who should have died, a transmigrator is it? His future will be quite interesting to see, I wonder if he can reach 'it.'} The being of an unknown age spoke, speaking the common tongue of the current era. As its first words were forgotten and lost in time, yet each of those words it muttered made the universe shake as with them it was able to grasp the knowledge of everything that had happened by reading the universe itself!

But that wasn't what mattered, but what this being had uttered! It knew of what Rhys and Eternal Paragon were trying to achieve! Not only that, it knew of the results of success and failure... yet that was not it! For it knew Rhys had his soul transmigrated into a new body.

{I wonder, It has been so long since I last woke up. This would be an interesting thing to see. Heh, will his bloodlines undergo mutation and become 'that' or will he fail and die?} It spoke again, its voice made it hard to understand whether this being was a male or female, or how old it was. The thick darkness all around it moved and encroached on the surroundings, making the void where it slept become so dark that even darkness would be ashamed of itself.

The will of the void had no idea such a thing slept in itself, for this being was older than the will of the void itself!

{The universe has changed so much... cultivation regressed? How interesting. Ah, I'm tired already, I should sleep once more. But not before marking that kid as mine, no way the other ■■ will take him from me. It will also help me in finding out the results of their experiment.}

The moment its words were uttered, its eyes flash black, and not even a nanosecond later, a black, runic mark appeared within Rhys's soul and vanished, as if it had been a lie! Such speed that even Paragons could not copy! Before long, this being once more enter a slumbering state as its darkness spread once more.

Its large body was hidden once more as silence reverberated in the surroundings.

——————

Its awakening had made many things in the universe happen, other beings like it also awoke when they felt one of them awaken. But that was not all, ancient ruins also appeared throughout the universe, they erupted from spatial tunnels that led to the ruins. Many powerhouses who realized this sent many exploration teams in.

Techniques, treasures, and many more from a lost era. That was what was found. Many greedy people took this chance to go in and try to take everything they could. Alas, these ruins were not like this. They were like trials, passing them resulted in rewards, failure meant death.

The universe was slowly changing, not many knew why, but they all welcomed it if it would help them become stronger. Many different races also felt these changes, but mostly humans used this chance to grow.

The other races stayed home and protected their territories. The wizened dragons were like this as well, they chose to stay put in the Dragon realm and their world. Trying to make their race grow in number.

But a few dragons did not want to stay put and left their homes to explore these ruins. Dragons were naturally greedy, greedy for the truth of the universe that is. So when they heard of ruins that might contain a forgotten history, they were interested.

If not for the Dragon Empress of Extinction, who ruled with an iron fist, they would all of moved towards the ruins and monopolized them, it was because of her sole power that all Dragons stayed put in place, minus a few rebellious teens.

Unaware of anything that had happened, Rhys slept as his mind had tired itself out from all the pain, Eternal Paragon had Rhys in her arms, she looked at him as her eyes shone.

'It is going well.' Eternal Paragon nodded, not even her senses could notice the being who had done something to Rhys. But it wasn't her fault, her powers compared to that being were incomparable.

It'd be an insult to that being to compare both of their powers.

...

Rhys slept for a few days before he woke up, feeling refreshed. He was in the shack that Eternal Paragon had in her rind, the shack was in the middle of her extended domain.

His body was feeling full of vitality, but that wasn't always good. As that meant Rhys's dragon was awake.

'Dammit.' Rhys cursed as he tried to put his rod into a sleeping state once more. Yet he was having trouble, 'Damn dragon libido!' Rhys cursed he only felt pain from trying to suppress his lust.

His eyes were clouded in lust as he tried to suppress it.

"Grr..." A groan that sounded more like a bestial roar left his mouth, Rhys felt his wild instincts taking over, the instincts to find a female to mate with and produce offsprings.

Rhys's tent in his pant was still as big as Eternal Paragon walked in, her eyes immediately moved towards his erection before she looked at Rhys's eyes.

"Again... stupid horny dragons. How about I take you to a world and you go to a brothel and let out your... excessive energy?" Eternal Paragon recommended, she could see Rhys was suffering from suppressing his lust.

Dragons would never do such a thing, they would have countless partners and let out their lust on them, if lucky, they would also have children.

"N-no... I already have people I care about!" Rhys gritted his teeth, his body tensed up as his lust was being controlled when he thought he might cheat on his women.

Eternal Paragon shrugged, "You chose to suffer, I am sure they would understand."

Rhys simply ignored those words, 'I won't fall into temptation!'

Rhys finally got his ever-growing lust under control before he stood up, his little brother was asleep, but once could see the struggle Rhys had gone through, his veins seemed like they would burst and his body was red.

'Ah... I really want to let out.' Rhys lamented, he could not please himself due to his blood not allowing it, it would be shameful if a dragon was pleasuring itself because it had no woman to let it out on.

Rhys felt like he wanted to return, but he held back. 'First I need to get stronger.'

Once more, his conviction was renewed as he swore to become strong enough to protect them, even if there was no danger.

——————

Days went on, Rhys's training resumed and got harder. Eternal Paragon also made sure to beat him up more throughout to strengthen his body when it healed.

Rhys rarely fought fiends as he got tired over their mindless attacks which were easy to predict, his aether control was much better, but not perfect. He could now make claws of aether that were strong enough to hurt himself, the same went for shields, he could create shields that lasted for five seconds, but they would destroy most if not all attacks that were close to Rhys's cultivation in strength.

...

Rhys was currently trying to increase his fire law comprehension, a red aura and purple glow coated his body as his comprehension slowly rose. Rhys felt a deep connection with anything fire-related. As he buried himself in comprehending, Eternal Paragon was currently enjoying her free time.

'Ah, I took care of that bastard. Sadly he did not die but I did injure him enough to make him go away for some time.' Eternal Paragon had a beautiful smile as she hummed merrily.

Indeed, Eternal Paragon and Fiend Emperor fought to kill, which resulted in Eternal Paragon winning, critically injuring him and almost killing him if not for the Void's Will active suppression.

'I wonder what else I should teach him. Control of aether is one, but he should learn that himself. Experience, for now, he has enough, cultivation is rising steadily... so what more?' Eternal Paragon thought of Rhys's flaws but realized with every spare battle they had, Rhys would improve.

'I guess nothing?... I'll just think about it later, this is my free time.'

Eternal Paragon took a deep breath as her body floated in the void freely, the void's will was focused on Fiend Emperor at the moment. In other words, she was being ignored.

But this made her life calmer, as she closed her eyes and relaxed, the image of Rhys appeared on her mind. But it was immediately removed when she frowned, 'This happened again, annoying.'

Feelings were complicated, especially for a being of her caliber, she did not know how to express them as she remained alone for most of her life. Even now, she would be alone if not for wanting to train Rhys in case she died or something happen during her explorations of the void.

She knew how hard it is to kill a Paragon, one better would have a better chance of saying the whole dragon race than killing a paragon.

'But why is it happening?' Her eyes opened as she felt annoyed, she would not accept the feelings she was experiencing. She was even more prideful than Aurora, and her power made her not want a weaker man.

She was feeling some attraction, but that was it, nothing more, nothing less.

But then again, Eternal Paragon did not know this.

——————

Outside the inheritance grounds of Divine Eternal Moon Goddess, the first empress sat on her shack and found herself bore, 'It has been months! Ah! How tiresome!'

She felt like rushing in and checking if the boy was alive, but she knew she was since the island showed signs of the trial taking place.

'Are the trials so hard he is taking this long!? Dammit... I want to ascend!' She rolled her body on her big bed as she showed her natural curves.

She soon calmed down and felt like going back to the empire and wait there, 'But would he be able to return on his own?...' The first empress realized that she moved fast and it wouldn't be strange if Rhys did not know which way the continent was.

'I guess I have to wait here and suffer...' A smile made itself on her lips as she thought of the chances of her ascending and leaving the world, she wanted to be free and get stronger, her ambitions were always high but they were cut the moment she swore the oath.

'All I have to do is hope he succeeds.'
