Chapter 43 - Challenges

————————————

Days went on like normal after that day, Rhys and Eternal Paragon acted like that day didn't happen and Rhys made sure not to act out in front of her anymore. Their relationship did not improve nor did it deteriorate.

During that time, Rhys got fed different forms of knowledge and techniques. He was also tested every now and then by Eternal Paragon to find out whether he was keeping what he learned in mind.

If he failed, he would be beaten up before he had to once again re-learn everything. Eternal Paragon knew that her lessons were approaching the end, thus she did her best to make sure the knowledge stayed in his head.

Eternal Paragon also made sure to allow Rhys to cultivate more, for that was the reason for his arrival here, to get stronger.

——————

Days turned into weeks and those weeks into months. Many things happened on the outside while Rhys and Eternal Paragon were in the void. First of all, would be that the younglings who left the Dragon realm had taken the ruins in the surrounding area. They had claimed it was rightfully theirs by using some bullshit.

Many powerhouses tried to argue, but they would be killed, naturally, which escalated into a war between the younglings and other races. Although dragons are strong and wise, they are not invincible, the pride of greed of the younglings got the better of them and most of them were killed, a few enslaved while the female dragons were captured for 'breeding.'

Of course, that did not work as the dragons refused to take human form and if they got close, they covered their bodies with their elements, making anyone who got too close hurt. Thus the plan failed, but many still were greedy to impregnate the few female dragons and have offsprings with their blood. Too bad for them, they all failed miserably.

All of these happenings were shown to the dragon realm, by the order of the dragon empress, showing them what happens when they go against her word. She watched kids in her eyes suffer and did not act out. The death of a few greedy younglings did not bother her.

Although there were some riots from dragons who wanted to save them such as friends and family, they were all put in their place when they were reminded it was the younglings who broke the rules.

Another thing that happened was that there were sightings of the Seraphs moving. The seraph race was called the heralds of light and peace. Their beautiful white wings and divine beauty made many worship them and lust after them. But their strong pride and values made many fail.

Seraphs were usually closed off to the outside worlds, only staying in their domains and ruling over the galaxies under their control. So to see them move was big, as it meant changes were approaching. They never moved without reason after all.

——————

Within the World of Light, the main home of the Seraph race. A handsome man with blond hair and silver eyes sat arrogantly and pridefully. His white wings fluttered and wrapped around his body, covering the perfectly built body that every Seraph has. His silver eyes spoke volumes of his descent, for he was a direct descendant of the Heavenly Emperor, one of the Protectors who sealed the Galactic Devourer.

Although the man himself was still alive, he had secluded himself with his beloved wives and chose to live peacefully with them. The Heavenly Emperor had left the main stage and now his descendants were the one's ruling.

The blond man's eyes shone golden, the light of destiny. Although considered a Universal Law, Destiny is a Law learned by most celestial realm powerhouses as it can show them the best way they shouldn't move forward.

That was the case here as well, the current Heavenly Emperor was looking at his destiny to see what was ahead of him and his race. But for some reason he could not see anything, at some point, his eyes turned red from the pain and his eyes cried blood.

'Something is blocking my eyes!? Even with the Heaven Gazing Pupils I still cannot see anything!?'

Just like one could be born with special physiques, special pupils, and constitutions were also a thing. The Heaven Gazing Pupils were such special pupils, allowing one to see further and clearer into the future with fewer deviations and the backlash of gazing so far into the future would lessen immediately.

'The ruins appearing around the universe scared me, I feel something awful coming from those ruins, our Holy Light Flame warns us of darkness that consumes all...! Now I can't gaze into the future of myself or race! What is this? What is happening?...' The Heavenly Emperor wondered as his eyes healed.

He opened them to reveal the beautiful silver sclera, which shone like a small star, yet the shine was full of worry. But he wasn't the only one, many other leaders of their respective races were afraid of the ruins. Their senses screamed danger, only they could feel it, the rest of their race, which fought for the ruins could feel nothing. That was because as leaders, the fate of their races rested on their moves, so they had developed keener senses.

So when they delt danger, that meant their whole race was in danger, which immediately made many lords and rulers worry and feel afraid.

Yet the main cause of all this was spending his time getting stronger leisurely.

Author's Note:

Please read!

From now on, I will only upload two chapters, 1k words each per day. Some of you might ask, why write two chapters separately when I could do one massive one? Well, that is because writing one big chapter means that I could not make any big time-skips on the chapter. On the other hand, writing small chapters allows me to show one thing in one chapter and then another in the next chapter. This will allow for faster progress of the story with fewer fillers. (Continous repeat of Rhys's training and blah blah blah.)

Thanks for understanding.
