Just when Kayla thought that life couldn't get any better she woke up from her dream. For the first time in her life Kayla felt really disappointed. She was disappointed in herself for dreaming about such a thing. She was disappointed that it wasn't real at all. Kayla slowly got up from her bed and went downstairs to clean but found that the house was all cleaned up and nobody was in sight. After a while she left for her room and went back to sleeping.
She was woken up in the evening by her sister "Kayla let's go on a walk with me. And this is not a request." Kayla lazily got up and was trying to leave when her sister asked that if she wanted to dress up a little to which Kayla responded a with a simple no. They were walking silently when her sister broke the ice. "Kayla was everything that you said last night true?" "Would you believe me if I said yes?" "Yes. Why would you think that I won't believe you?" "I don't know maybe because you didn't believe the fact that I was depressed." "Look Kayla. Those words. I didn't mean them at all. I regret saying all those stuffs to you. I was blinded by my anger and I'm really sorry for that. Uncle also feels really sorry for treating you that way. But my real question is why wouldn't you say anything if you were sexually assaulted? Didn't you trust me?" "It's not that but it's a sensitive topic and I thought I would get over it. I couldn't and it still haunts me but I got to live with it like do I have any other choice?" "Yes. You could've reported him." "I could do that but who's going to raise the two kids? Do you want them to end up like us?" "You've got a point there but he still needs to be punished." "I know." "I'm sorry." "Stop being sorry. It's not your fault anyway. You were right in your own way and I was wrong for blaming everything on you." "Let's stop with this topic. I think I might cry." "You don't have to hold it in. You can cry all you want. I won't judge you." Right after Kayla finished saying this sentence Cassie started crying. She stopped after five minutes and then they walked back to their home talking about any topic they could think of.
They were entering their home when Kayla's uncle gave her a whole cake to eat. "Eat this and try not think of anything stupid for now. If you need anything else then just let me know." He left for his room while Kayla was stunned at his actions. "You know you should really thank your two friends." Cassie said from behind her. "Why?" "They told us everything about how you were cutting yourself and was also struggling to eat." "When?" "Last night. They were really worried about you. You should really be thankful to them." "But I messed it all up." "Try apologizing to them. I know that they will understand you." "What if they didn't?" "Then they weren't really your friends. I just called them to come over." "Are you mad? What if uncle see them?" "It's all good. Uncle really likes the two of them so he doesn't really have any problem with them." Just at that moment the door bell rang and Cassie opened the door while Kayla sneakily ran back to her room.
Kayla was thinking of a way to apologize when her sister shoved the two guys in her room and left. "Hey K! You fine?" Cosmos began while Parker stared at the floor. "Yes." An awkward silence surrounded them for a whole 5 minutes when Kayla finally spoke up. " Look. I'm really sorry. I made you guys worried and then took all my anger out on you. I didn't mean those words and I really regret it. I don't say this to you guys but both of you are really precious to me. I don't want to lose the two of you over a silly tantrum. But if you don't want to talk to me anymore then I understand you." Kayla looked at the two of them to find Cosmos and Parker smiling widely. "Parks? You want to go first because if you don't then I swear I will do it and never let go of her." "Shut up dude. She's mine." Parker quickly hugged Kayla and she too hugged him back. "K. I'm sorry too. I'm really sorry for yelling at you with those horrible words. I swear I didn't mean them at all. I love you." Kayla gently smiled at his words and hugged him even more tightly with tears streaming down her face. "Hey! Me too!" Cosmos joined the hug.
They were all laughing and talking about things when Cosmos's dad called him. Cosmos reluctantly answered his phone and began. "Yes dad? Okay. I'll be there right now." "What happened?" Kayla worriedly asked him. "My dad just came home so he told me to be there right now." Kayla didn't want to let him go but couldn't tell him that so she let him go while she and Parker sneakily followed him.
Cosmos had just entered his house when he saw his dad sitting on the dinning table. "Cosmos take a seat." Cosmos followed his order and sat down. "Yes dad." "Son. I know I treated you really harshly and you are not the one to blame for your mother's death. I am a scum for treating you so badly. I want to apologize to you even though I know that I don't deserve it. I don't deserve to be your father. I'm really sorry." Cosmos's dad was crying bitterly while choking on his words. "Dad why are you suddenly saying this?" "I had a dream of your mom last night and she told me that it wasn't your fault. That I shouldn't treat you like this." "I don't know what to say." "I'm sorry son and if you don't want to forgive me then I understand." "Dad I was never once angry at you. I know that you had your own reasons after all it was your life's true love that died because of me. I don't want to blame you for it. So I think there's no need for apologies." "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for making you feel that way. You don't have to think that way. You can blame me but please don't say that. Please." His dad begged him while holding on to his son's hand tightly.
