Kayla lazily woke up the next day and went to prepare some breakfast after she was done taking a shower. After she was done, she quickly got dressed up into a yellow knee length dress and left. She was busy taking her books from her locker when she felt someone's chest behind her head. She turned around to find Parker and Cosmos smiling at her. "Morning K!" Cosmos energetically began.
"Morning!" "Why didn't you drop by my house in the morning?" Parker questioned her while she kept on staring at her locker not being able to remember what she was trying to find. "I just got lazy." "Oh cool." Cosmos said in a hurt tone. "K?" Parker nervously began. "Yeah?" "I like you." "Yeah yeah. I'll laugh at your joke later." "It's not a joke." "Shoo~ Go away. I'm busy right now." "Okay you got me. See you later." Parker said while he pulled a shocked Cosmos away from the spot.
"Bro...what was that?" Cosmos asked his pal when they reached far away from Kayla. "Me confessing my feelings and getting rejected I guess." "But why all of a sudden?" "Don't blame me. I couldn't resist myself when I saw how pretty she looked today." "Okay but are you going to try again?" "What?" "Confessing?" "I don't know man. I think I've had enough rejection for today." "I don't blame her cause who will believe your words if you say it out of the blue?" "Thanks for the comforting." "Well I won't lie, especially when it comes to my friend's romantic relationships. So, you better get used to the harsh truths that I'll be spewing." "I don't have any other option now, do I?" "Unfortunately.....no"
After the two of them had left Kayla started smiling like an idiot. Even if Parker meant it as a joke she still liked it and was going crazy thinking about it. Kayla was just about to leave when her ex best friend who had abandoned for a popular girl approached her all of a sudden. "Hey Kayla!" She began sweetly. "Hey Jane!" "So I've been thinking about it recently. Do you want to join me after school for like everyday?" "What for?" "So we can catch up on our friend stuff." "What about Lana?" "Ummm we are not on speaking terms." Kayla was familiar with it. Jane would talk about the sad shits about how Lana would mistreat her. Before, Kayla would pity her and be by her side but Jane would always leave her after she made up with Lana. "Again? How many times has it been? I'm guessing a million. Do you think this sad shit is going to work on me? Girl grow up and learn to be on your own instead of pretending like you're the victim here."
Kayla left after she gave her a death glare.
During lunch, Kayla was sitting with Parker and Cosmos when all of a sudden Jane sat down infront of Kayla. "Hey guys! I'm Jane. Kayla's best-" "Shut the hell up and get lost. You're really shameless, you know that right?" Kayla said in an annoyed tone. "Kayla I was just trying to be friends with you again." "Friends? I don't think so. You want to leave with those two legs of yours or do you want me to drag you? Either way I'll be happy if you left." Jane put on a sad face and was about to leave when Parker stopped her. "Jane you can sit here. And Kayla stop being so mean to others." "Yeah Jane you are welcome to join our group if you don't have any friends." Cosmos began in a sweet tone. "Really?" Jane's face lit up at his words. "No." Kayla replied in a mean tone. "C'mon K. Don't let your past take over you. Just hug it out." Cosmos said cheerfully. "You can hug it out and do this kind of shits by yourself. I'm leaving. I don't want to see her face and if she's hanging out with you guys then I don't want to see you too. Move bitch." Kayla purposely hit Jane's shoulder harshly and then left.
Kayla was just entering her class when Ben asked her to join him and his boys to which Kayla agreed. The whole time she had spent with them she felt really happy as they kept on cracking jokes which made her laugh uncontrollably. When the bell for the end of lunch rang Kayla quickly bid them farewell and left for her class. Kayla avoided Cosmos and Parker the whole time even when they tried to talk with her.
After school, Kayla had finally calmed down. She was returning from the toilet to see that her bag was still in the class but Cosmos and Parker had already left. She felt bad as she knew that it was her fault and maybe she hurt their feelings. Kayla took off with her bag thinking that she would bake some cookies for them and apologize to them tomorrow. Kayla had just exited the school building when she noticed Jane holding Cosmos and Parker's arm gleefully leaving for their home. Kayla felt betrayed and annoyed that she had lost to that girl and the two guys had forgotten about her so quickly. Kayla was frozen to her spot when she saw Parker, Jane and Cosmos nearing her. "Yo K! I I thought you left." Parker began. "I was still in the school. Didn't you see my bag?" "But Jane told us that she saw you leave." "Maybe she thought you were leaving when you went to visit the toilet." Cosmos said while trying to lighten the mood. "I know this hoe's behavior very well but I didn't expect you two to forget about me this easily. Well that's what you get from expecting." "K. We-" "Keep those hands and words to yourself. You can enjoy your stay with this bitch but don't you come looking for me if you are still friends with her." Kayla warned Parker when he tried to calm her down. Kayla stormed off and quickly went to her regular place to smoke and then left after sometime.
Kayla reached her home and started cleaning the house and cooked dinner and after she was done she went to her room and was fidgeting with her phone. After a hour her uncle and his wife came into her room and gave her an earful about how she was neglecting her chores. After they finally left, Kayla locked the door, turned off the light and sat down in the floor. She angrily took the blade and started cutting herself until blood ran like water from her wrist. She got on her bed and then slowly fell asleep.
The next morning when Kayla woke up she found her wrist cleaned and bandaged. She woke up and did her usual routine and then left. While she was walking to school two heavy arms wrapped around her shoulders. She knew who it was so she didn't even acknowledge their presence let alone talk to them. She shrugged of their hands and then rushed to school.
