"Everything seems pretty nice in here, actually. I could probably live in this ship." (Fawkes)
"Stick to the mission, lieutenant." One soldier reminds him.
"Right, right. You must be real fun at parties. Should we head for the control room, then?" (Fawkes)
"Based on the ship's design and structure, I can confidently say that we've been teleported into the ship's stern. And if we're going by modern rooms, then we can say that the control room should be at the other end of the ship, the bow. Or, if we were to think of this "bird" ship as a pirate ship, it could be in the captain's quarters." One soldier said.
"Well, you get started on that. Should we split up then? Twenty can come with me and the rest will stay and help map out the ship." (Fawkes)
"Roger. This won't take very long, so don't clear the ship too soon!" A soldier said.
"Heh, I'll try not to. Alright, SPLIT!" Fawkes says as he and the others immediately move out.
"Man, Lieutenant Fawkes is way different when he actually focuses."
"You're right. Maybe if he was like this during all our missions and not just the important ones... *sigh*"
"Well, we should get on with it then. Can't be letting the team up ahead taking all the credit."
"You're right."
***********
On Fawkes' side.
Alarms were blaring. The constant *beeps* were more than annoying to the passing group that numbered twenty five.
"Haha! This is what I love! Who gives a fuck about the alarms! We'll take over the stern easy!" Fawkes said as he blasted a Karman with his fire.
"I thought we were making this a covert mission, lieutenant, but I'm afraid that's too much to ask from you."
"Covert? What's that? Never heard of it." (Fawkes)
"*sigh* Just focus on killing the enemies, I guess. The lasers, though. Truly an astounding piece of tech."
"When did we have a copy of Leila in this platoon?" (Fawkes)
"Psh. Unlike me, that girl can't even hide her greediness to learn about everything. Give her a book, and she'll ask for a library."
"Hah, you're right there, soldier. Flame Blast!" A blast of heat was emitted from Fawkes' hand, enveloping the group of Karmans shooting at them.
"Watch out, lieutenant! That one up there has a different gun." A soldier pointed to a Karman who plopped down on an elevated platform and adjusted itself to a prone position.
Carrying a heavy gun that seemed twice as long as the Karman's arm, a red beam began to converge in the muzzle.
"What'cha doing there, mister? I won't allow you to blast my subordinate's head clean off." Fawkes fired a small ball of fire.
The Karman, seeing the size of the attack, couldn't even register it as something that would hurt it.
"And... combust." Snapping his fingers, the small ball exploded and created a massive field of smoke.
"Lieutenant, thanks for the help."
"I got you. Should we keep on going then? More of them should be heading towards us anyway." (Fawkes)
"Lieutenant. I've received word from Private Kasha that the mapping of the ship has been completed."
"In three minutes, no less! I guess we won't be heading on forward. Let's go back." (Fawkes)
*************
"So I was right. The control room was in the captain's quarters." The one who was mappig was Private Kasha.
"Good job, Kasha. So, what's it look like?" (Fawkes)
"Lieutenant. The ship is definitely big. I don't think we'll be able to meet the time limit set by Miss Pharah." (Kasha)
"She said ten minutes, was it? Then that's more than enough. I can see that there's many entrances into the control room, but nothing like it than the vents." (Fawkes)
"Lieutenant, you can't mean.."
"Yup. Let's have our Poison Magic users to cast their spells inside the air ducts. Then we'll have Earth Magic users conjure a wall to block all exits. If there's not enough, we will just station guards. This ship is incredibly big, so we'll burst through the middle." (Fawkes)
"Got it. We've got seven minutes left. I'm ecstatic, but I don't think we'll be able to finish it quickly." (Kasha)
"Don't worry about it." Fawkes touches the earpiece in his ear. "You can take out the Mana potions from my Dimensional Storage. Share it among your group. We need you to buy as much time as we need to clear the ship."
"Fuck, I better be paid thrice my salary for all this work. Here, Berdley, pop one open." Pharah's voice is heard from the earpiece. A sound, similar to the Pop! That a cork makes when pulled off from a wine bottle is heard. "Fuck, that's much better. Alright Fawkes. You bought yourself seven minutes worth of time, now hurry up."
"Heh. Good enough for me. Alright team, we got approximately 12 to 13 minutes to enter the control room and drive this baby out of here. SPLIT!"
***********
"And that's the last. Looks like the portal is closing up now." (Berdley)
"That was definitely tough. The mounts of the aliens were more fierce than the monsters here." (Kojirou)
"I wonder how they ride them... seeing as how their front legs look different from their hind..." (Leila)
"Enough with that. Get me another mana potion, I'm getting tired. I hope the guys up there finish up quickly." (Pharah)
"No worries, sister. We got this." (Aegis)
**********
"We ready? Everyone in their positions? Alright, fire the Poison Magic!" (Fawkes)
"Firing! It's in, lieutenant!"
"Good. Now let's wait at the exits." (Fawkes)
*************
"Just like Lieutenant thought, the enemies are heading towards the exits! Prepare for battle!" (Kasha)
The metal sliding doors are opened within a second and the figure of the Karman wearing military outfits are seen. They are having trouble breathing, and look as if they could faint at any moment.
"Hey there. Maybe you should've thought twice before invading this planet. Flame Blast!" (Fawkes)
"Gagahahha! Dagshs!" The Karman, hit by the fire spell were knocked back into the rooms.
Shortly after all twenty five entered through the various doors. The Karman, all huddled up in the middle, were promptly burned up by Fawkes, leaving black corpses.
"Alright, we've got this. So.... anyone know how to fly a space ship?" Fawkes looks at the assortment of buttons. Buttoms of different sizes lined up the control pad, which was huge.
"Lieutenant, I'm guessing this ship needs at least ten people to pilot it simultaneously.." (Kasha)
"Damn. So any TEN people know how to fly a spaceship?" (Fawkes) "No one? Well we're fucked."
Along with the seemingly endless numbers of buttons, there were also levers and a steering wheel?
"Whoa! Let me try, Lieutenant! I've always played games like this so I can do it!" A soldier came over.
"Uhh, I'm not sure if that makes you qualified to save our planet.." (Fawkes)
"Sure it does. Hand it over."
"Uh, do what you must, I guess." (Fawkes)
"I watch Chris' TubeYou videos all the time, so I've seen him play a lot of these types of games." A soldier speaks up.
"Heh! Leave it to me! I'll get this baby out of the atmosphere in ten minutes." The soldier, named Chris, had already sat on one of the ten chairs and began messing about and fiddling with the controls.
"Oddly enough, he seems to be doing well. We haven't started falling to the earth rapidly. Keep it going, Chris." (Fawkes)
Meanwhile, a glint shone over Chris' glasses. Almost like he knew what every thing did.
"Hehe, this is exactly what Ship Simulator's controls were! I wonder if those aliens purposely made it like this.." (Chris)
