"Two to your right, Lucas. Watch out, those guys have spears instead of laser guns." (Kenneth)
"Whoa! Almost hit me there. Sonic Slam!" Lucas' move blew away a group of Karman back.
"And that's it. Let's wait to see if anymore will be entering through." (Kenneth)
After a few minutes, the portal began flickering, until it gradually lessened in size. Soon the portal that was as big as their house was now the size of a car.
"Looks like we're all clear here. South Macaus Plains is clear of Karman Portals! Good job, guys." (Kenneth)
"Nice one. Should we head to the West?" (Lucas)
"Copy. I still vividly remember the first time we went here. Everything got all fucked up." Kenneth looked around the surroundings.
***********
"My lord. I've spotted another portal. This one is more dangerous than the first, I can assure you." Aurelia came up to Kenneth.
"I see. Let's get on with it, then? How many are there?" (Kenneth)
"Approximately twenty Karman are directly outside the portal. It doesn't seem to be lessening in size, so there must be more to come." (Aurelia)
"Well, twenty is all fine and dandy. Hold on. Database Link: Focus Aurelia!"
"Little bro, what did you do? It feels like you're not with me anymore." (Lena)
"I'm right here. I just focused most of my consciousness on Aurelia, so I could share her senses. Alright, Aurelia. Could we scan through the enemies, again?" (Kenneth)
"Copy, my lord." Aurelia heads over to an isolated patch of land, and adjusts herself into a comfortable position for scouting.
"Hmm. I see now. Most of them are carrying the standard laser rifles. A few are holding circular shields and spears. And there seems to be one with a staff that reaches it's height." (Kenneth)
"Alright then. Here's our go. Cancel Focus: Aurelia." Kenneth said. "We won't actually have a hard time killing those guys. Anyone here could solo them all. The problem is the aftermath. That portal is bigger than the one from before."
"And something BIG could come out of it." Lucas said, his voice clearly giving away how excited he was.
"Well yes- so we'll need to be care- I guess not. Damn it Lucas." Kenneth's older brother had already ran off, leaving his other siblings in the dust. "Should we head on, then? Can't be having Lucas take all the glory."
"Right away, little bro!" (Lena)
Soon they went on ahead, following the trail left behind by Lucas' energetic footsteps.
***************
"A good day to you, alien fellow. People like you shouldn't be here." Lucas leaped into the group of Karman busy digging a hole in the ground. Accompanied by his leap was a Sonic Slam, knocking back the Karman.
"Husha borg? Rahahs mruga?!" Seeing the man who had caused the explosion, one Karman who wielded his staff slammed the bottom part against the dirt ground. Oddly enough, it managed to make an audible sound. Pointing it's staff at Lucas, the Karman who had gotten up propped their rifles on their shoulders and began firing.
The instant beam of light that was emitted from the barrel startled Lucas. Shifting his large body slightly to evade the death ray, Lucas adjusted his frame with the lowest amount of energy needed. Following the initial beam, he made small changes to his poses. This allowed him to effectively steer clear of any potential death rays from touching the hair on his skin.
Although he successfully dodged it all, The series of minimal adjustments to every part of his limbs led him to end with a particularly embarrassing pose. His right arm was curled up over his head, his left behind his back. And his legs were stretched a considerable distance away from each other.
"Fuck, that was close. Chill out, will you? You started all this." Lucas grabbed hold of one Karman and tightened his grip on the neck of the alien. Oddly enough, the alien wasn't having trouble breathing. It wasn't gasping for air, nor making any desperate attempts to inhale.
"Fuck, now that's even more creepy. You guys don't breathe like us, I guess. Whoa, chill out there." Noticing his herculean grip not working the slightest bit on the Karman, he instead used it's body to act as a shield against the lasers that the others were still endlessly firing at him. Seeing the lasers unable to penetrate the body of the Karman, Lucas thought to himself inwardly that this worked great, as a meat shield.
Eventually though, the Karman's body was slowly falling apart from the constant assault, and Lucas knew this. Seeing that the meat shield's time was up, Lucas waited till some of the Karman were reloading, then threw the broken body away and rushed towards the main group.
Bashing his fist against one more Karman, he took the new body and used it as his second shield. Soon the body was falling apart and this time he threw it at the group. Seeing this, the Karman evaded sideways to avoid the body of their fallen comrade. Taking advantage of this small opening, Lucas casted Sonic Slam and knocked back everybody. The Karman bodies were pushed back to the ground as Lucas took his time beating up all the ones who were still up.
Eventually, only one was left. And it was the staff wielder. Seeing it's comrades fallen, the lone survivor unleashed a war cry and slammed it's thick staff against the ground. Except this time, the staff didn't make any sound. Something was preventing the staff from contact with the soil. Looking up, the Karman noticed the firm grip of Lucas on the staff. Realizing that it was probably going to die, the Karman made a last ditch effort in fighting Lucas' monster strength in hopes of retrieving it's staff from the brute in front of it.
It's effort was in vain though, as Lucas easily lifted the staff as if it was a twig. He whisked the weapon away from the Karman's grip and began twirling it around his fingers.
"This is actually pretty cool. Mind telling me how it works?" Staring at the Karman who, despite bigger than Lucas, was shrinking. "No? Well fuck off." Lucas threw a single punch at the Karman, knocking it out. Permanently, perhaps.
"That took a lot longer than it should've." Lucas said to himself.
"Well, at least you know." Lucas turned around to see the figure of his four other siblings waiting for him nearby. All of them except Aurelia were folding their arms together, especially Kenneth, who was making a "took you long enough" face.
"Hehe. Well, looks like I've been caught." (Lucas)
