Chapter 44 - Obito's Secret

Later that night…

Ryuu snuck out of the house and went to training ground three.

"He's not here? That lazy bastard, I'll have to wake him up as usual."

Ryuu left and went to the Uchiha District,

"There's no sneaking past these guys so I'll just have to enter through the front."

On his way in, Ryuu was stopped by the guards.

"You can't enter at this hour, people are asleep and I don't want to let you through, leave!"

Ryuu opened his Sharingan.

"How about now?" He asked as he put him in a genjutsu, the guard was shivering and sweating, Ryuu passed him and entered anyway.

"Man, uncle must be disappointed, the security here sucks and I don't even have a mangekyou."

He said to himself

Ryuu went to Obito's home and snuck in through his window.

"Obito wake up!"

Ryuu shook him, he was dead asleep.

Obito slowly got up, he started scratching his eyes and he stretched.

"Get out of bed and let's go," I said as I dragged him by the leg.

"Wait! Where are we going?"

I dropped him.

"Before I left for my mission you had a request for me so now I'm here to help you out."

Obito got up.

"Why are we awake now! It's too late to train!"

Ryuu slapped his forehead.

"Obito, you told me you don't want to drag behind Kakashi, this is how you become more powerful before I left for my mission Kakashi and I were training all night and after I came back the first thing I did was train with him the whole day."

Obito was speechless.

"Right now if you fought against Kakashi you would lose in seconds, you speak with such confidence and charisma but you fail to back it up with your skill or your courage.

Obito if you want to prove that you're just as strong as Kakashi then you have to have a stronger heart."

Obito frowned and folded his fist.

Ryuu put his hand on his shoulder.

"Obito, I'm telling you this because you're one of my closest friends, that's why I'm honest with you and I would hate to see you get hurt or worse."

He released his fist, which means he realized I was right.

"Besides, if you want Rin to like you back, you'll have to show her that not only can you protect her but you can also protect yourself."

Obito blushed thinking of Rin but he also had a determined look on his face.

"Alright, let's train!" He said.

"Before we do so, you might want to get into these." I teleported back to his house and grabbed his clothes and goggles, then I brought them back to him.

"Oh, I've been meaning to ask, what jutsu is that?" He asked as he was putting his clothes on.

"It's a jutsu called Flying Raijin, Big brother Minato and I perfected it." Man, I'm getting tired of saying that.

"That's awesome!"

He finished putting his clothes on.

"Obito, tell me everything you've learned so far in the academy and everything you're bad at, this way I'll be able to know what I'm going to reach you."

He told me everything they learned from the academy, they've progressed pretty fast it might be because they're in a hurry to get shinobi on the field because of the war.

"Well alright, it seems to me that since I left and went back to living with my uncle you've gone back into your sleeping habits." He shyly nodded.

Sigh, this is going to be harder than I thought.

"This would be easier if you had the Sharingan but I guess nothing is meant to be easy right?"

Ryuu asked as he shyly scratched his head

"Ryuu can I see it?" Obito asked.

Ryuu was confused but he didn't see a problem.

He activated his Sharingan and Obito stared at it in awe.

"How did you get it? And why does it look darker than other Uchiha?" He curiously asked.

Ryuu frowned as he remembered his parents' deaths.

Obito noticed Ryuu's grim look.

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."

"No, it's alright, I got my Sharingan on the day I saw my parents dying, I was only three at the time my chakra hadn't fully developed so I fainted, I was too weak."

I said as a tear rolled down my eye and I clenched my fist, I wiped my tear.

"Hmph, and I thought I would've gotten over it by now, a shinobi isn't supposed to cry right?"

Ryuu said as he forced a smile.

"Even though shinobi aren't allowed to cry, we're still human, no matter how much you try you can never completely ignore your emotions," Obito said.

Ryuu nodded and wiped his tears.

"you're right but that doesn't matter, let's begin your training." Obito nodded.

We walked to the trees surrounding the training grounds.

"Well based on what you've described for me, you're still having trouble with your chakra control.

It's a common problem, especially considering your age, not even Kakashi has perfect chakra control well at least not yet, luckily it's also easy to get rid of, if you follow all my instructions well, you'll be fine.

I admit some will be boring but that doesn't matter, mastering this technique is a must, it's useful in a mission and if you can master this, it paves the way to learn powerful ninjutsu."

Obito nodded.

"We'll start with this."

Ryuu took out a scroll and gave it to Obito.

"A tree-climbing exercise?" I nodded.

"That's right, you've already covered the topic in chakra control in class but it's much more difficult to do it."

Obito read the scroll he was given by Ryuu.

"Well, I don't know, it looks pretty simple to me." He said.

"Then try it."

Obito infused some chakra in his feet and ran towards the tree however, he fell after 5 steps.

"Is it still easy now?"

Ryuu mocked him by standing on top of the tree.

Obito was rubbing his head and he had a bump from falling off.

"Don't worry, I don't expect you to get it on your first day of training."

He kept climbing, he spent the next hour trying but he either put too much chakra and left patches on the tree while getting pushed off or he put too little and ended up slipping off.

A few hours passed, I got bored and started meditating, Obito had made little progress, but he's impatient.

"Ryuu!"

I lost concentration but at least I didn't fall off.

"What us it now?" I said as I teleported back to the ground.

"I haven't made any progress this is too difficult."

"Don't tell me you're giving up already, we're so close to the start."

I jokingly said.

Obito looked down in shame.

"No, it's not that it's just…"

"You said you don't want to drag behind Kakashi but you want to give up this early? Kakashi can already walk on water which requires more skill In chakra control, you told me to train with you just like how I train with Kakashi and this is how."

He folded his fist.

"At least give me a tip."

"Honestly I can do much for him, what kind of advice do you give someone with bad chakra control," Ryuu said to himself.

Ryuu started thinking of what to say to Obito.

"Honestly, I can't help you out here, you just have to try harder and practice."

Obito wasn't satisfied but that's all I could do for him, I climbed back up and started meditating again.

Before we knew it the sun was rising.

"Ryuu, I'm doing it!" Obito said.

Ryuu opened his eyes and saw Obito right next to him.

He smiled knowing that his training is paying off.

"Great work Obito!" Just as he finished saying that Obito fell off.

Ryuu teleported to the ground and caught him right on time.

"Whew, that was close, it looks like I haven't mastered it just yet."

I put him down.

"Don't worry about it, just keep practicing and you'll be able to do it without even realizing and soon we'll begin training on walking on water, till then we have to go, people are starting to wake up, I'll buy you a food pill to restore your energy."

He nodded.

I teleported us to the market and bought him a food pill, after that, I teleported him back to his home.

"Well, see you when I see you Obito."

He smiled and nodded.

"Ryuu, thanks for helping me out."

I smiled and said, "anytime Obito." I teleported back to my room.

While I was waiting for everyone to wake up, I decided to read my book.

"I need to expand my arsenal."

I opened it and skimmed to a page with lightning techniques.

"This seems promising, lightning chakra mode." Ryuu read the whole chapter.

"Alright! It's decided, I'll learn this one next."

Sakumo woke up, the first thing he did was check to see if Ryuu woke up as well.

"Why can't Kakashi wake up as early as you Ryuu?"

He asked as he opened my door.

I shrugged.

"Kakashi loves his sleep far more than I do," I said as I scratched the back of my head.

"Well, it's time to wake him up." He went to Kakashi's room and woke him up, as usual.

Kakashi came with me to train as his clone went to school.

Things were easier these days because I can teleport.
