Chapter 26 - Misspelled? Or Cursed?

Next Morning, Silver Lake Hospital.

Kyra slowly opened her eyes, rubbing them lightly as she looked around before sighing out loud. She had used too much magic yesterday and the effects were still harboring her strength, specifically her head which felt heavy even after a long hour's sleep.

She looked at the clock that was ticking 8 past 30 minutes and sighed.

Wearing the slippers, she stretched her hands before getting up to open the curtains for some fresh light.

"Finally, you are up!!"

That familiar voice made her shut her eyes and press her lips in displeasure. Turning around, she looked at the frog that was sitting on the bedstand table, legs crossed while forelimbs folded in front of its chest.

"Haha, you are here as well." Kyra greeted with an awkward smile.

Now that she was very clear about the situation yesterday, about the spell oops or the curse specifically, she was more worried about caring for her good life. The moment Kevin gets to know about this doom, she was sure of spending her last day of this lifetime!

"Oh, you are up!" Anna entered with a cup in her hand. There was also a straw for the little human frog to help himself with his coffee.

"Here is your black coffee!" Anna smiled placing it on the table and went to check Kyra's temperature which had risen up last night and worried all of them, though it was a normal side effect of performing strenuous witchcraft. Dr. Johns had immediately sent her to the hospital for better care and that was freaking them inside.

"Thank you, senior!" The Frog excitedly stood up and almost fell down while trying to walk. He had spent a complete night of 6 hours but still, it was very hard to leave behind his human style and co-operate with his frog needs.

"Careful." Anna paced up and caught him from falling down.

He breathed deeply and glared at Kyra while being placed on the coffee table this time, present in front of the small couch opposite the patient's bed. He almost died for Nth in this frog state, but the one who needed to take responsibility slept soundly the whole night!

"Thanks to you Kyra, I am falling more than anyone would in their entire lifetime." He stated glaring at her as Anna helped him sit on the coffee table and also brought his coffee cup.

And to Anna's surprise, Kyra didn't bark back and start a fight. This was not so her and her nervous expression confused Anna even more.

"You seem okay now!" The doctor who just entered commented looking at Kyra standing all well in front of him. Gesturing for her to lay on the bed, he did the routine check-ups but his eyes couldn't help but peek glances at the frog, busy trying to sip coffee out of the cup that was mostly of its height.

Yes, even the cup was very height for our Little Kevin Frog Prince!

The nurse who also came inside stared at the frog, gulping nervously as it looked cute but scary at first sight. Their world had creatures with unusual traits and who knew, this frog might as well turn into a hulk and break their building or worse breath out fire at any moment?

"Nurse Jessy, check her blood pressure!"

"Ahh! Yes!" The Nurse nodded before moving to Kyra's side.

After all the normal check-ups, the doctor took the notepad and wrote a few prescriptions.

"It's almost your third time here!" The doctor commented, flicking her forehead and Kyra massaged that area with a pout.

"Who told you to use black magic?" He glared and added, "and without any rest use magic in the heavy storm last night?"

Anna just sighed out loud, hearing him. He was right, in just one night Kyra had over exhausted herself.

"Learn to overcome your side effects soon or else, I might as well call your grandma and ask her to ground you from performing witchcraft!" He added and Kyra nodded with a slight smile.

This doctor was one of their family's closest friends and he had almost been her personal doctor since she turned 10. So, she had always seen an uncle in him and was glad to have him in situations where her family was asked to be present.

"Doctor!" The Frog suddenly spoke and it caught everyone's attention. Jumping a step forward, it asked, "Can she use magic? I mean she is okay enough to perform a transformation spell, right?"

"Yes, of course. It's fine as long as it requires limited energy!" Dr. Daniel replied making Kyra's face flat in resentment.

"That's great! Thank you!" The Frog squealed in excitement. Nodding to it as well as Anna, Daniel nagged Kyra to take care for almost five minutes and later left the room with the nurse.

Walking out, Daniel closed the door and sighed. He had sensed some dark magic in Kyra, he could feel her connection with something bad, and he needed to report it to his friend, her Nana!

"Now Now!" Standing up on its two limbs, the frog continued, "Since you are all okay, turn me back into a human! Right Now!"

Kyra sighed, making up her thoughts. She still wasn't sure if she had actually cursed him since yesterday her mind was almost dizzy, and she couldn't spell anything properly. So, taking a deep breath she decided to test her assumptions again. Badly hoping that it was just a transformation spell!

"Come here!" She said looking at the frog and pointing to stand in front of her.

Kevin immediately looked at Anna for help. It was just a couple of steps away from the table it was currently sitting on, but for its frog body, it was like climbing down a hill first and then running a mile.

Anna sighed out loud, before picking him up. She had become his personal 'frog-sitter' since last night, and she badly wanted to end it soon.

Placing him down, Anna sat back on the couch.

Kyra took her position to cast a spell. Closing her eyes, she tried calming her mind first, which had various thoughts running their own marathons. Opening her eyes, she took a deep breath and rolled her sleeves but Kevin stopped her.

"Hey! Wait!" Kevin shrieked standing on his two limbs. And when both, Kyra and Anna, looked at him in confusion, he added, "I mean, how I can be transformed into a man in this state?"

"Huh? So, you want me to turn you into a woman?" Stretching her fingers, Kyra added, "I am fine with it then!"

"No, I mean I am naked now and I will be once you transform me back! I mean this is just I mean I don't have clothes." Kevin babbled out and Anna held her chuckle. Yeah, he had a point but the way he explained in that frog state, it was just like seeing a cartoon that came right out of the TV.

But Kevin was damn serious. He hadn't thought about it last time, but now that he processed it all night, he concluded that he would be naked once transformed and might need clothes immediately to hide his pride!

"Fine, Fine! I get your point!" Kyra nodded awkwardly and added, "I will also, erm put a nice dress on you!"

And Anna chuckled, the words Kyra choose were just commendable.

Kyra took a deep breath again and opened her eyes but Kevin stopped her again.

"Can I get a long jacket? It's quite chilly here!" The frog asked, shivering a bit and Kyra nodded, stretching her fingers again.

"And yes, also a scarf!" The frog added and Kyra nodded again, this time taking a deep breath in frustration.

"Oh, yes! Colors! Choose the best matching pair for my whole outfit!" The frog added with a smile. It was mostly enjoying this time to annoy the grumpy grandma! Kyra nodded, partly patient.

Seeing her controlling her frustration, Anna bit her lower lip to surpass her laugh. It more looked like Kevin was intentionally piling his request, now that it was his sweet time to trouble Kyra!

"Ohh, yeah! Can it be a limited edition outfit? I am used to wearing only those!"

"Arghh, this is annoying! Do you want me to do it or should I just leave?" Kyra questioned looking back at the frog again who immediately nodded without hesitation. Troubling Kyra was not more joyous than turning back into a human, a real human!

"Stay still, okay?" She said taking her position and Kevin nodded.

She tried, not once twice, and also failed at the third attempt. Anna held her breath in shock, mostly guessing what might went wrong while Kevin just blinked in confusion.

"Are you playing with me, Kyra?" He asked, glaring at her as it looked like she was having fun torturing him with those magic balls. Three times for now!

And when Kyra nervously shook her head, he yelled, "Then, why isn't it working?"

"Maybe we should wait until we reach our office?" Kyra suggested nervously looking at the frog which stared at her in confusion.

"I think we should first meet Chief Adams," Kyra added and the other two looked at her in confusion. Why did she need to meet their Chief of all the times but now? Oh, he was her only lifeline now, haha!

"And why so?" The frog asked its invisible brows creasing in suspicion. Something was sure off with her behavior!

"I think I misspelled the real spell." Kyra slowly acknowledged and when the frog looked at her in confusion, she smiled nervously.
