Chapter 5 - The First Boss

Kila's plan was therefore as follows. He will create the largest water bubbles he could, as well as the maximum possible for its current mana. He could therefore create ten bubbles with 100 MP, and if it quintuples the size of its bubble, it will certainly be able to make only one, but its effectiveness will be multiplied by 5.

Kila's bubbles were bubbles filled with water, so by increasing their size, the volume of water inside would also increase. So by combining 10 bubbles into one, the latter will be much bigger and have much more water inside. And since Kila could control the direction of his bubble, he could simply spray them with water so that they would liquefy completely.

However, even though it seemed like a good plan, he didn't know if it would work at 100%. He was not sure because if the slimes could defend themselves from physical attacks, he could surely slide the water on their 'body' and thus make Kila's tactic useless.

Seeing that he still had a lot of time, Kila decided to keep thinking before acting.

Meanwhile, Cayron could not prevent his legs from shaking. Even if we could call the slimes one of the weakest monsters in the bestiary, they were still about twenty monsters while they were only two. Or rather alone, since Cayron seemed unable to do anything. Even though he had Sylphide, he had absolutely no idea how to use an elemental spirit.

He had certainly read the description of his class that the system provided him, but that did not prevent the fact that he didn't know how to use it. There was no tutorial teaching him the basics, as a video game would. This world had thrown them directly into a battlefield, where it seemed that only the strong one could live there. And Cayron still wasn't ready for that kind of thing.

Contrary to Kila who seemed to be completely in his element. One could almost have the impression that he was more comfortable in this world and this kind of environment than in the previous one.

Kila thought of another plausible plan while Cayron was trembling by his side. He told himself that if an external approach was not possible, then he had to try the inner approach. The only way to win would therefore be to trap all the slimes inside the bubble so that they liquefy themselves over time. They will not die with a few drops of rain, but will die if they are constantly exposed to moisture.

And since Kila's bubbles were a concentrate of water, it could only work. And if unfortunately, they don't die because of it, he will have to use all possible means, that is to say, Cayron, so that he can use his power to the maximum, and thus finish the dungeon without any problem, even if in this case, it would be more Cayron the problem than the slimes themselves.

So starting to put his plan into action, Kila began to create bubble after bubble. After a while, 10 bubbles were positioned in front of Kila and floated in the air. Once this step was complete, he tried to group the bubbles one by one until the latter assembled to form a bubble that was twice the head of an average human.

He did the same process 5 times, leaving him with 5 bubbles, before starting the process again to assemble these last bubbles. After a while, a bubble of water, or should I say a sphere of water was levitating in the air, just in front of Kila.

This sphere was so wide that it looked like it was the size of a wooden hut.

"You're not trying to attack them, right? Maybe we can find common ground with them, so drop what you're doing Kila." Cayron said in a trembling voice.

"Shhhh, let the pro do his things. And then you know? You have to grow a little. Fear is not everything in life," Kila replied with a smile, while having sweat running down his forehead, while Cayron couldn't help but look on the ground. He could never have imagined that what he had said would have turned against him, and especially turned in this way.

Kila began to control his water sphere to transport it right in front of the slimes. Even though the sphere was extremely large and seemed to be heavy, it was going at a more than reasonable speed, reducing the distance faster than if they had to wait for the slimes.

Once in front of them, the bubble did not stop, but rather continued on its way, gobbing the slimes one by one. However, one of the slimes seemed completely above all that. This slime was not of a color like the others, it was of a very light shade. It seemed to be all white.

Seeing him, Kila had also noticed that he seemed bigger and taller than the others, and from his color, he also seemed to have a different element from the others, and according to his memories, white could only make him think that it has a light, or something a little rarer, holy power, even if there was extremely little chance for the latter since slimes were monsters of very low level.

However, even if the boss-like slime did not react, the same could not be said for the others. They all seemed to float aimlessly inside the bubble, unable to do anything. And from their reaction, it seemed to be liquefied at a glance.

Seeing this, Kila was only waiting for one thing, and that same thing came a few seconds later.

[You got 500XP for killing a water slime]

[You got 500XP for killing a water slime]

[You got 500XP for killing a fire slime]

These messages came more than twenty times, and after they were all dead, and even more enjoyable notification came into his view.

With all the slimes he had killed, he had managed to level up 2 times, bringing him to level 2. And with his level up, he manages to get a whole new skill. A skill that could only offer him a victory against this boss-like monster.

[Cryonics: The caster can freeze things as long as they are within a radius of 10 meters, thus putting them in a frozen state. The cryogenics process accelerates if the thing in question is soaked.

Frozen state: The frozen thing loses durability, or HP every second if it's a monster. If the frozen thing is a monster, he would lose 50% of its defense.

Type : Active

Cost: 100 MP to start the process + 10 MP/s to continue the cryonics process.

Charging time: 5 minutes.]

Cryonics was the best thing he could have in this situation. He could hinder his enemy if he had enough MP, and when that same enemy was frozen, either he would die slowly, if he could not get out of the ice, or he would die with a blow from the caster, thanks to the 50% of defense that was ignored.

The only problem he could face in this situation was the fact that if the slime was indeed of the light element, then he will be much harder to freeze because the light is supposed to be an extremely hot element. He, therefore, had to try at first to get the boss wet as much as possible before trying to freeze it.

He couldn't afford to lose MP stupidly in this kind of situation. Luckily for him, his giant bubble was still floating in the air and only stopped if Kila ordered it. He had also gained 20 points of stats to distribute with his rise of levels (10 points of stats are given per level), and immediately placed them in intelligence, thus rising his maximum MP to 300, and therefore 200 MP currently since he had already used a hundred with his giant bubble.

The 200 MP he had left should be more than enough if he played all the cards he had in hand well, and 10 seconds should be more than enough for the slime to be frozen, especially if he was soaked with such a big bubble of water

Seeing that the white slime was getting dangerously close to him, he decided to put a little distance between them before doing anything.

He grabbed Cayron by his arm and started running with him. He didn't want him to die so stupidly, and then he still needed him to carry out his plan.

They started running until there was a reasonable distance between them. Once they were far enough away, Kila ordered Cayron to burst the water bubble that was just a little further away from the white slime. However, Cayron had no will to try anything. He still seemed to find it extremely difficult to accept the situation he was in and wanted to do absolutely nothing. He had even struggled to run when Kila grabbed his arm.

"You fucking jerk, wake up damn, I need you, I can't do everything on my own. We are supposed to be a team no? So move your ass and go burst that bubble now." Kila said while getting angry when he saw Cayron's attitude.

In reality, Kila didn't need him. He had absolute control over his water bubble, so he could simply burst it when the slime was below it.

But he didn't want to do that unless he had to. Even though Cayron was of absolutely no use right now, he knew very well that he had potential. The very fact that he managed to kill someone with sylphide was proof of this.

Elemental spirits were spirits with immense pride, even greater than that of men, and it was extremely rare for a spirit to accept a contractor. Even if the system had given him his class, if he was not qualified, the spirit would not have listened to him and would have done only what he wanted to do.

So Cayron had great potential, and he saw no better moment to awakened his potential than now, against one of the slowest enemies the world could know.

After continuing the process several times, in other words, running, waiting for Cayron to take over the reins of his mind, and observing the situation, he then finally succeeds, to regain his mind.

He now knew very well that Kila needed him, and that if he did nothing, they could very well both die. So he began to do as he had been told. He, therefore, ordered Sylphide to use a condensed air ray on the giant bubble which was just above the white slime at this moment.

Sylphide began to condense air in his little hands, and once ready, the ray went straight into the bubble and made a slight 'Boom' when it left the hands.

Once the ray of air had touched the bubble, the bubble burst and let all the water that was inside flow on the slime, soaking it from head to toe, ... Or should I say soaking his gelatinous body.

Even though the slime was all soaked, this does not prevent it from continuing to move forward as if nothing had happened. However, this suited Kila. The water that had flowed from the bubble had spread more around the slime that remained on him, so the further he went, the more he sank into the earth which had become so muddy that he was moving even more slowly than he was already advancing.

Kila, therefore, began to freeze everything around him, and because of, or rather thanks to Cayron's situation, his MP's had completely generated, leaving him with exactly 20 seconds for the frozen, and since 10 seconds already seemed enough, the 20 seconds will just overkill the slime.

The water began to take on a blue hue before trapping the slime's lower body in the ice. Not understanding what was happening, the slime tried to melt the ice by projecting light from his body.

Unfortunately for him, Kila's plan had worked perfectly. Because of the water that was on his body, the light lost almost all of its power and thus melted the ice so slowly that it looked like an ice cream that was melting in the middle of winter.

The freezing continued to rise on his body quite quickly, and after exactly 12 seconds, the white slime was frozen in a thick layer of ice. Afraid that the slime would succeed in melting the ice with his light, he rushed towards him and made the biggest kick he had ever done in his life.

Even if he fractures one or two bones, he will still be able to treat them with his healing water, and then, what was better between losing bones and losing life? It was necessarily losing two or three bones.

With -50% defense, the power of the kick could look like a cannonball that would be taken directly from the face. The ice began to burst into a thousand pieces after the kick reached its destination, breaking the slime that was trapped inside.

[You got 10,000XP for killing a white slime]

[Congratulations, you killed a boss, your quest will be updated in a few moments]

Seeing that he had killed a boss, Kila couldn't help but be happy. All this fight had served him to climb two levels and advance his quest, bringing him closer to the end faster.

He still managed to kill a boss in less than an hour, which made him extremely excited for the things to come. However, he knew very well that it would not always be so easy. He had to level up to unlock new skills, and thus be able to cope with all situations.

He could hardly see himself beating a slime other than white. If he ever fought against an acid slime, the latter could very easily counter his ice, and if he fell against an electric slime, for example, he would have extreme difficulty beating him, knowing that nor water nor ice could be very effective against this element.

While he was savoring his victory, a voice interrupted him, a voice whose existence he had once again forgotten.

"Kila, I went up to level two and look at what I've earned," Cayron says in ecstasy, like a child opening his presents during Christmas.

Cayron began to gather air with sylphide, and moments later, a green weapon appeared in his hand. This weapon was a sword of wind that he had created thanks to his new skill, 'Elemental Weapon'.

This weapon possessed all the characteristics of its element and was extremely powerful. Kila even wondered how someone of such a low level could get a spell like this. These spells were usually spells exclusive to people with a perfect connection to their elements, and seeing someone who was only level 1 or 2 possessed such a spell seemed very strange to him. But he knew Cayron was special, so why wouldn't he have a high-level spell like this one?

"WOW that's great, do you think you can make me one?" Kila asked while pretending to be impressed.

"Hmm, no sorry I don't think I can do it for others," Cayron replied while avoiding Kila's gaze. He was so happy to have something so cool, but couldn't even give it to his 'friend', which made him very sad.

"No big deal, I'm sure we'll have a lot of new spells, let's go, we still have two other bosses to face," Kila told Cayron while tapping his shoulder, before waiting for him to go level up.
