It's the year 20XX and I'm right now running from a group of zombies. You must be wondering why or how there's zombies on our planet. Well four years ago, a group of scientists were doing some big experiments about viruses or something like that in Ohio. The virus got out and it mutated so the state was under a lock down. Some idiot went against the law and got out of the state, in the end the whole country was infected or that's what everyone thought.
I somehow managed to survive for four years which I find unbelievable. I turned back to see the group of zombies still at my trail. "Why why why are you guys even chasing me? I don't even taste good man," I screamed, running faster than I already was. My eyes scanned around the trashed streets for something I could use to defend myself.
Right then, my eyes landed on a bat. I turned back once again to see more zombies running after me. "Hope this works," I quickly picked up the bat and stopped turning around. The zombies were still running at me. I swung my bat at the closest zombie, it's head breaking from the impact. I continued attacking the undead group, knocking every one of them out. A big rush of adrenaline flooded through my body.
When all of the zombies were on the ground hopefully dead, my legs gave out from underneath me. I used the bat to support the upper half of my body. I'm exhausted and hungry but my main concern was shelter. "Damn it," I cursed and tried to stand up but I couldn't. I decided it was better if I stayed on the ground a little longer. "You know resting in the middle of the streets during a post apocalypse is not a smart move."
I held the bat up in front of me defensively and looked around the area. The voice was definitely human but there's nothing wrong with being cautious. "Who are you?" I yelled, still looking around hoping to spot someone. A guy walked out from inside the building in front of me. He looked around my age with puffy brown hair that was in a ponytail and bright blue eyes. He had a shovel on his back along with a black backpack.
"I am Val and you are in need of help," he held his hand out for me. I was skeptical but I still took his hand, what do you expect me to do? Sit there and be zombie mush, no way. "Thanks," I grumbled as he helped my stand. I used the bat to hold me up on the left while I held onto Val on my right. "Why are you helping me?" I asked as we started walking somewhere.
"Because you're a human, don't come across many nowadays." He joked, I glared at him and rolled my eyes. "So can I know anything about you? Perhaps your name?" He asked slyly. "Adrino and that's all you need to know." I grumbled and he tried saying my name a few times. "Adrino. Adrin. Rin! I'll call you Rin. Vic would definitely love to meet you," he said excitedly and looked down at his watch. "Vic?" I asked confused.
"My twin sister, she's close by and so is the rest of our group. I'm bringing you to them now," I wanted to say and tell him to leave me there but ugh it's hard to resist hot guys. Oh ya, by the way I'm bisexual. "Sure," I said and we continued walking while Val chatted about the group. I just listened silently while limping, my left leg was now somehow fully functioning while my right didn't. It was like my body wanted Val to be close.
"Why are you checking your watch?" I asked out of curiosity when he was staring at it. "It shows the location of where everyone in our group are, we're not that far from them." He said holding his watch up to show me. On the tiny blue screen was five dots, four were together while one was heading towards them which I can assume is Val.
"You see that movie theater over there?" Val pointed at the building and asked. I nodded and he explained that that's where they were taking shelter at. "Come on, let's head in now." He helped me into the building. And quickly I was pinned to the ground. A girl with blonde hair and green eyes was over me. In her hand was a pocket knife and her eyes were cold. "Who are you?" She questioned, the knife getting a little closer to my skin for my liking.
"Someone who's severely uncomfortable," I said before snatching the knife our of her hand and kicking her off of me. "Ria, stop. He's not a threat." Val got in between us before I could attack her. And that was the last thing I remember before everything went black.
