Chapter 51 - Chapter 50

"Sammy! You up?"

I groaned as I rolled over in my bed.

"No..."

"Good. I'm coming in."

"W-wait!"

Before I could object Justin walked in already up and ready.

"C'mon. Time to get up! There's only so little time and so much to do!"

"What time is it?"

I was still half awake and couldn't keep my eyes open.

"7: 32. Now c'mon, out of bed!"

I groaned again as I rolled away from him gett I ng comfortable in bed so I could fall asleep again.

"Sammy please?"

"No. It's too early."

"But I have the whole day planed out."

"What even for?"

"To celebrate of course! What else?"

It took me a while to process what was happening or what even was going on.

"Celebrate..." I muttered to myself trying to think.

Then it clicked.

"Oh yeah. But why so soon?"

"Uh, hello? I just got accepted into my dream college! There is no such thing as too soon."

He was literally jumping at the news with a big goofy smile on his face like some two year old who just got told he's getting ice cream.

I couldn't help but comply.

"Ok, ok, I'm getting up. Now leave so I can change."

"Yes!" He yelled but in a whisper as he help up a fist in victory. He ran to the door before looking back to say, "Don't take too long!" He then closed the door and I moved over to the side of my bed before getting up.

I yawned as I stretched before getting up to get dressed.

After I got ready I opened my door to see Justin standing in front of it with that same goofy smile.

"We're you standing there the whole time?"

"That doesn't matter. C'mon let's go!"

He grabbed my arm and led me down the stairs and out the front door. He let go of me after mentioning to his car. He jumped into the drivers side and I slowly walked to the passengers part purposefully. And by purposefully it was because I was tired and he was too energetic.

I got into the seat and by then it was already on and running.

Wow he is way too excited.

I put on my seat belt and he started heading off to who knows where. I was still tired so I closed my eyes prepared to doze off until he started playing his favorite songs at max volume.

I looked at him not holding back my irritation.

"Really?"

"Yes. If I keep it quiet you'll fall asleep."

"But I'm so tired."

I groaned and shifted in the seat eating to get some more of that sleep I so greatly desired.

"You're a jerk, you know that?" I muttered out not really expecting him to hear me.

"Yeah but I'm also your brother. It's kind of my job."

I rolled my eyes yet I couldn't contain my smile.

Soon Justin pulled in to a waffle house and I looked at him with a eyebrow raised.

"Really? Awful house?"

"You know you love this place."

"yeah, yeah."

We walked in and got a seat the smell of coffee taking over my nose.

"I've been meaning to come here for a while now."

"But you were just here yesterday."

"Yeah. That was forever ago."

I laughed at my brother seeing he really did seem hungry.

"You're such a pig."

A waiter came to our table and asked what we wanted.

"I'll have the All Star meal and she'll have..."

I wasn't as hungry but I guess it didn't really matter.

"I'll have two chocolate waffles."

The guy smiled and nodded his head before walking off and getting our breakfast ready.

I shifted in my seat a bit.

"You know, you don't have to do this. It seems like you're treating me to a birthday."

"Well I want to spend as much time with you as I can before I leave. I will be gone for a few years."

I froze feeling my heart pick up speed.

"But you'll visit, right?"

My voice shook as I asked that.

"I'll try but that's expensive. I'll have student loans and I have to have money for food."

I felt tears bite at my eyes.

"Face it Sammy. I can't always be there for you."

"I-I know that." I forced out a fake laugh. "Besides, I don't need you either."

I looked to the side as he made a pained face.

Just before he could say something the food was done and we both looked at what we had.

Justin smiled as he picked up his fork.

"Let's just eat."

"Yeah."

It still kind of felt awkward but I didn't want that. I wanted the last weeks with him to be good ones.

The last few weeks with him.
