Not long after we were at my house. Alex gently let me down helping me get my balance before completely letting me go.
"Thank you," I said fumbling to open the door. I finally did and stepped inside letting Alex follow me.
"It was no problem. Anything for you."
There he went again spitting out words like they were nothing. Of course I reacted by blushing but I hid my face from him.
"Well I'm going to go up to bed. I'm really tired."
I wasn't lying but I also just wanted to get away from the situation.
"You should go get some sleep. You almost slept in my arms-"
"I'm sorry about that."
"-not that I would mind."
This time he could see me blush and to his comment. He smiled and his eyes were kind of melting me as he looked.
"I'm going to just go now."
He didn't look away or say anything. He just stood there looking at me with that same smile and kind eyes.
Once I got to my room I fell to my bed and hugged my pillow.
"My heart won't stop racing."
I looked back at the day. So much happened. I almost couldn't keep up.
"I must be really lucky for this to have happened to me. And yet, I'm not lucky."
As I looked back I realized something.
In the short amount of time they've been here and the time since it happened they've brought something back to me. Memories I tried to lock away for almost a year now.
They all reminded me of my brother.
Even though he's gone they make me remember hair and think he's here.
It was a cruel punishment. And yet...
I was enjoying it.
I laid in my bed not needing to wait for sleep. It was already there and I gladly accepted it.
Tomorrow I would get away from everyone by going out and hanging out with Drew. He was the one guy I felt comfortable with. Even with our history.
I fell asleep dreaming over the day but with Justin in the background. It was off but normal in a way. I greatly enjoyed the memories combined with the recent events.
