Ms Tina Anderson frantically ran to her bedroom and took wore a very casual dress and ran out, attempting to find Molly. She went all the way to the beginning of the street and searched for the shrubs thoroughly. She also went ahead and asked the neighbours if they had seen her cat but received a negative reply.
Tina continued searching with a worried look in her eyes and cupped her face in apprehension. "What have I done, what have I done? I knew I should have not come home drunk. It's that idiot Mike that forced me to stay to 1 am, and now, I forgot to close the damn door" the woman mumbled to herself frustratingly.
Her cellphone began ringing, and she promptly connected the line and brought the cellphone to her ears. "Hi Angelina, please I'm not in the mood to talk right now!" she said and sighed with a sullen face.
"Come on girl cheer up! You were a beast last night, that was pretty rad of you. I could not imagine you drank up to six shots of whiskey in one sitting!" the caller on the other end gushed.
Tina could not help but smile but drop it almost instantly. "Yeah, the night was fun, but I promised myself not to stay up till midnight. I have work you know, and right now, I'm in a delirious situation" Tina said.
"Awww, and what's that? Oh, did Mike break up with you, or wait, are you having a hangover?" Angelina spoke with the same level of enthusiasm since she called Tina.
"No, not any of that, although I would want that moron out of my life anyway. The thing is that I lost my cat. I forgot to lock the door yesterday night, and Molly had crawled out into the night to God knows where."
"Oh no. Molly is missing, that's sad, but wait! You said you left your door opened yesterday, and you are worried about your lost cat? Aren't you worried about your safety? What if a robber came into your house and take your stuff, and OMG, kills you, would you even think about Molly?" Angelina asked surprised.
"I said it one time and I'm gonna say it again, I live in an estate. We don't worry about things like that, but thanks for the motherly advice though."
Angelina laughed over the phone and said "Alright kid, see you around, and maybe next time, we try that newly opened club I've always hammered you about". Tina rolled her eyes and smiled "Alright slut, byee" she said and ended the line.
She turned on silent mode on her smartphone so that she would not be disturbed. She knew her other friend was about to call her, so it's best she ignored her for now, at least while she found Molly.

James stepped back of the door as it swung open, revealing Esther who was still rubbing her eyes and yawning. She was still wearing her nightgown, which enhanced her beauty, for some reason.
When she saw James standing at the door, she froze with shock. "James, wh-what are you doing outside?" she asked in surprise. James shrugged and grabbed the cat that was busy chasing on a butterfly.
"I'm supposed to be the one asking you that question. What am I doing outside? I was trimming the porch as aunt Martha told me to, and when I was done, I wanted to get inside, but it was locked.
"I called your name, aunt Martha's name, and uncle John's name, but for some reason, none of you heard me, I did not want to disturb your sleep, so I rested outside the door and waited will dawn."
Esther still wore that shocked expression as she incuriously stared at James. As much as she despised James, she did not want him to suffer. Besides, he was just a ten-year-old inexperienced boy, and he probably did not know what was happening to him.
Yet, he still caused her family's calamity, and she hated that. She couldn't do a sleepover with her best friend, attend extra lessons, and worse, she was stepped down as a class captain because of her constant lateness to school. Naturally, she looked for someone to blame, and James was the best candidate for it because whether he did it intentionally or mistakenly, his presence still caused havoc to her life.
Esther made way for James to pass, but he was not coming in, and that was when she saw James holding a big pink cat in his hands. "Who owned this cat, and where did you get it from," Esther asked curiously.
James shrugged. "I don't know. I saw it approach me when I was resting, although I don't know where it came from, I could not chase it away, so I kept it, hopefully, the owner would come and claim it" James said on one breath.
"And why did you not go ahead and ask around? Maybe the owner did not know their cat was missing in the first place" Esther replied coldly, assuming that James wanted to steal the cat all to himself, but James displayed no reaction.
"You think I didn't do that? Tell me, will you go open for someone that knocked on your door in the night, no you wouldn't. I went to knock at the first three doors opposite here, but no one came out, which was understandable" James blinked.
Esther thought it made sense, but she decided not to be warm with him. She then turned around and walked out to the room. James then turned around and knocked on the door of the house directly opposite his home, fortunately, someone came out.
"Good morning sir, sorry for disturbing your morning. Please is this cat yours?" James asked without smiling. The chubby man stared at the cat James was presenting to him and slowly shook his head. "I'm sorry, but it's not, but you can try other houses though".
