Chapter 41 - Do You Have a Signal Jammer Here?

Inside a mall, Amy went to change her clothes. The ones she was wearing was already bloody from her and the assailants. Of course, Amy did not go in immediately. She drove into a neighbourhood and searched for any clothes a resident had spread in the sun. Moments later, the only clothes she found were a man's shirt and a trouser. "That'll do" Amy shrugged as she stole the clothes.

When she arrived at the mall, she noticed people glancing at her from time to time as they went on their way, but Amy did not care at all. 'I'm gonna change these clothes soon anyways' she said in her mind, as she approached the clothes section.

Moments later, she came out of the dressing room with more appropriate and feminine wear and looked at the mirror. "You look beautiful, this fits you well, you know that" the woman attending her gushed, hoping she buys the dress she wore.

"Yeah yeah, I know," she said slightly irritated. Amy then took out her card and paid for the dress, then left the clothes section and went to the electronic section.

"Please, do you have any signal jammer here?" Amy asked the attendant. The attendant nodded and led her to the aisle where it was located. He brought out a small packet and handed it to her. "Thanks," she said, without looking at him.

Before the male attendant said anything, Amy had already torn the packaging and brought out a small rectangular box that was the size of an iPhone. "Ma'am you have to pay for this, you were not supposed to—" the attendant was still talking when Amy interrupted him.

"I know I have to pay it, does it look like I'm stealing this? Take the packaging, and I'll pay for it!" Amy angrily spoke out loud, startling nearby shoppers. "Okay ma'am, you don't have to be so loud" the attendant shot back. Amy wanted to punch that his stupid face that bad but stopped herself from doing so.

"Lead the way idiot," Amy said rudely. 'Geez,' the man said in her mind as he walked towards the checkout section.

A few minutes later, Amy left the mall and approached her car. She turned on the signal jammer and placed it at the back of her left pocket. Amy smiled contented "Let me see how you'll track me now" she mumbled.

While she was relishing the moment, she saw two cops checking out the car Amy had stolen. Amy became slightly alarmed and subtly turned around. She knew the owner would've reported his stolen car, but she didn't expect it to be that soon. It may have been that he had seen Amy break into her car but chose not to say anything.

Amy sighed deeply and walked away from the car. Now she had to take a bus. She had to admit, she had never taken a bus in a long time, which was so because she had owned a car, which Matt used to take her to work every day.

This brought back so many memories she had with Matt. Amy was sad and felt the urge to cry again but chose not to do so. This was not time to cry, she tried to tell herself again. She had to focus on saving James, and James was her priority.

Amy boarded a half-filled bus and sat down. She intentionally sat on the seat closest to the window so that she could survey her surroundings. Someone was complaining that his service was terrible on this bus, another person close to Amy agreed to his statement.

Amy smiled, knowing that the signal jammer was working properly.

Twenty minutes passed, and the bus finally came to a halt, prompting all the passengers to alight. Amy walked down from the bus and looked around. She walked to a gate and knocked. A security man came out and glared at her. "What do you want?" the security man asked in a gruff voice.

"Good evening, I am looking for a Mrs Harts living in this estate" Amy replied. The security man stared at her for a few seconds and walked back inside the gate. "Hold on" the man spoke over the office he was staying in and made a call.

Amy could hear the mumbling the security man-made from inside his office as she looked for a place to sit down and carefully surveyed her surroundings.

Then the security man came out from the gate and stared at Amy. "What's your name?" the man demanded. "I'm Amy Penn by the name," Amy said simply, and the man then relayed her name to whoever he was speaking to.

A few moments later, the man ended the call and made way for Amy to enter the gate. "Come in," the security man said, but Amy had already walked into the estate.

Amy began looking at the numbers of the houses for a number 44, where Amy had told Martha to go to. After she arrived at the house with that number, she approached the door and knocked.
