Jeffrey lay on his bed for a while staring at the wall and then rolled onto his back to look at the ceiling. It was a long day of school, the classes were simple but patience was never one of Jeffrey's strengths.
"Patience is a virtue and I hate virtues", ping pong wiz kid Connor once said.
His mind was racing with thoughts and ideas of what he could do, what the future might hold. Before he knew it Jeffrey was deep asleep. His socks still on, his bedroom door still open, and the window curtains drawn.
Soon the rest of the day passed and it was dark out.
Jeffrey woke up a little tired but refreshed. The smell of food being cooked in the kitchen reached his nose. Jeffrey decided to go and taste the food to do a little quality check on it.
Jeffrey yelled out, "What's for dinner? It smells amazing!"
In an apron, the chef said "Steak, you want some?"
"Awesome!", Jeffrey said running down the stairs.
Preparing two bowls of rice Jeffrey and his father started to eat.
"Everything at school going ok?", his Dad asked.
"Yeah, just working on a science project", Jeffrey replied.
"Oh, that's cool. Is it a group project or are you doing an individual one?", Jeffrey's Dad said eating another piece of steak.
"I was planning on doing an individual one, but I found some friends to do it with so now it turned into a group project", Jeffrey explained.
The conversation continued for a while before they finished eating. They were the only ones at home. Both of his siblings were on play dates at their friends houses and wouldn't be back until much later.
His father went back to his room to check the markets for stocks to invest in. Jeffrey himself went to practice piano.
"Two more weeks until Christmas break", Jeffrey thought to himself.
